Swar Yoga

SWAR YOGA

It is a well known fact on the Earth that the most ancient holy Books viz., four Vedas/six Shashtras are quoted as proof by the wisers .So in Vedas there is no Swar Yoga. But nin Vedas there is a description of surya Naadi(vein) a nd Chander Naadi(vein). For example, Atharva Veda Mantra 2/15/3 states that the left hole of nostril is called Chander Swar and right is Surya Swar (warm).Surya (Sun) is an indicator of fire/hotness whereas Chander (moon) is an indicator of Som matter Cold/Peace. The breathe (Pran & Apan) is moving through both holes of the nostril in two main veins , Ida vein and Pingla vein. Left nostril contains Ida vein and right contains Pingla vein. Between both eyebrows where these two veins(Naadi) are connected that point is called Murdha from where third Naadi(vein) Shushumna starts.Shushumna is Shiva and Shiva is Hans. When we breathe inside then the Swar is Sa and when we breathe outside then the Swar is Ha ,i.e.,Hans. Gayatri Mantra or Guru Mantra is practised by knowing this Swar knowledge. Secondly, Lom and Vilom practice of Pranayam is also done. But all this knowledge must be fully taken by a wiser Yogi first. So Swar Yoga can also be considered a part of Ashtang Yoga which is faithful to all .This is a vast knowledge and requires brief description which is not possible here. It is to be learnt from an experienced Yogi. However, if required this knowledge containing 10 lectures can be delivered on this subject of Swar Yoga. Please confirm. Any question on Yoga or spiritualism by readers or anybody else is highly appreciated and I shall feel personal pleasure to reply.

Aspirant go inside and see soul (self-realisation) by Ved/Yoga Philosophy and kn

ASPIRANT GO INSIDE AND SEE SOUL (SELF REALISATION) BY VEDA/YOGA PHILOSOPHY AND KNOW ABOUT THE TRUE RELIGION

Rigveda Mantra 1/164/16 states that nobody except the Rishi/Muni who is a philosopher of Vedas and Yoga education only knows about creation and the creator. Therefore, the Mantra further preaches that our life should be based on such a traditional knowledge where every human being should be educated about the creation in the form of Modern Science/Education together with the spiritual knowledge viz. Worship, adoration ,yoga practice and Yajna etc., based on Veda’s study. Because it is very clear from the study of four Vedas that the present sects have some particular name with religions like Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain etc., but Vedas are only religion for humanity. These are the traditional education adopted by our forefathers/Rishis. This education gave morality, command on senses/organs, love to humanity, God fearing, non-violence ,end of ravages of hatred, nationality including thousands of other good qualities promoting International brotherhood. Thus when we study Vedas, practice Yoga education then only we become able to peep within our SOUL ,and know the true religion far from fundamentalism .Vedas/Shastras/ Upnishad/Geeta etc., the holy books have thrown light for the religion which give peace/ calm/ happiness to the humanity and not the hate/violence etc. The wise, who know Veda’s knowledge is only capable to gain, to know and to realize truth. Uptil now whatever today’s science has invented all those are mentioned in the Vedas. But much more undiscovered matters are still required to be invented lying in the Vedas. For-example in Valmiki Ramayan it is described that Hanumanji used a top class aero plane given by Sugriva to cross the ocean to locate Mata Sita. The plane was caught on radar by Ravan’s Army. This secret still requires invention. In Mahabharta, there is mention of a Brahmastra. If it is used it could destroy total Earth. But when it was used by Acharya Dron’s son Ashwathama on Yudishtra and his brothers for killing them, it had to be turned towards Abhimanyu’s wife Uttara by order of Vyas Muni. Now the BRAHMASHTRA only hitted the pregnancy of Uttara without killing or hurting even her. No science has yet produced such type of missile/arm/weapon. Therefore, we see that the ancient Rishis/Munis were the scientist in reality either in the matter of worldly science or the science of worship/Yoga education, to realize God and both the knowledge they showered on public for their happy long life and building a strong Nation. We must, therefore, not keep aside the ancient path of adopting traditional knowledge of Vedas/Yoga philosophy.

FALSE SAINT/LITERATURE HAS GRASPED TRUE RELIGIOUS PATH/LITERATURE

Now it is a matter of sorrow and saint Tulsi Dass has also written it in his Ramayan that now a days everybody has started saying him a Brahm Rishi/Yogi/Saint without knowing the traditional knowledge of Vedas/Yoga. See Ramayan:-

1.Marag so ja kahun joi bhava . Pandit soi jo gaal bajava.

2.Brahm gian binu nari nar karahaen na dusari baat.

3.Kali mal grasey dharam sab lupt bhaye sadagranth. Dambhinah nij mati kalpi kari pragat kiye bahu panth.

4.Duej shruti bechaka bhup prajasan . kou nahien maan nigam anusasan.

The conclusion of the above is that, even worldly science and maths go forward fundamentally on some recognized formula but now a days there is no any rules / regulations/ fundamentals/traditional paths etc., in the matter of worship. The way which suits that is only the way to be accepted quitting the traditional knowledge and fundamentals of Vedas/yoga education. Because now saints have sold Vedas i.e., they do not know about Vedas and preach therein. Secondly he who does not know even ABC about the vedic /yoga philosophy he also talks on not less than Brahm Gian. Study of Vedas reveals that , “Mantra drishta iti Rishi” i.e., who has practised Ashtang Yoga and has seen Ved mantras within his SOUL,he only entitles to be pounced the holy word Rishi and not other. So Rishi is an Ashtang Yogi and he preaches Vedas like Vishwamitra and Vyas Muni etc. This is a tradition. Tulsi Dass ji further says that false saints and unauthenticated false literature on spiritualism has grassed the true traditional/ancient literature .The above quoted Rig Veda Mantra l/164/16 also refers that only a wiser of Vedas knows truth. Thus the authenticated and scientific knowledge of God in Vedas cannot be over sighted, which our ancient Rishi- Munis like Vyas,Vishwamitra, king HarishChandra, Dashratha and Shri Rama, Krishna etc., too respected and adopted the same. They have left behind a tradition to follow up and we have to obey.

YOGA/VEDA’S EDUCATION PROVIDES PROSPERITY-LONG HAPPY LIFE

Athervaveda mantra 13/4/48,49 very nicely preaches that human beings must learn Vedas and yoga philosophy so that they may be able to be happy in the way of richness, prosperity, ill free life, to do auspicious deeds and to become able to build a strong nation. By the virtue of Vedas / yoga philosophy in the end we also become able to realize God. There is a pray in this mantra that when we attain all the stages then we truly become able to worship. Thus at this stage only God looks, bless and takes care of us. So Yoga philosophy preached in the Vedas is very much essential to gain for a long happy life /realization of God which one is also a main motto of human life. Samadhi Paad’s second sutra of Patanjali Yoga Darshana says :- “Yogaha chitta vritti nirodhaha” meaning :- Yogaha(Yoga)= Samadhi, Chitta = combination of intellect i.e.,budhi, ahankar (Ego) and mana (mind), Vritti= effect of various forms, nirodhaha=stoppage. That is to say stoppage of various forms of Chitta is called Yoga. According to the sutra it is sampragyat samadhi (sampragyat yoga).Because rishi Patanjali has stated here “chitta vritti nirodhaha” which means sampragyat yoga. Because he has not said Total chitta vritti nirodhaha. If the word total could also be used then its meaning could be treated as asampragyat yoga being total stoppage of chitta vritti. In sampragyat yoga we (soul) meditate and also know that he (soul) is meditating. In this situation soul is separate and the goal is separate. But in asampargyat yoga the soul forgets himself and is at that time emerged in God. Chitta gains the effect of worldly happenings through eye, ear, nose, tongue and skin by means of good or bad effects viz. looking , listening ,smell, taste and touch ability. When an aspirant practice ashtang yoga and becomes able to control on effect of worldly happenings on the chitta, it means he has attained the eight and the last path of ashtang yoga i.e., samadhi (yoga). That is why yoga is called samadhi as told earlier and main motto of yoga education to realize God is fulfilled. Now question arises what is chitta where the effect of five senses are endorsed? The body of human being is made of five cells as briefed in Vedas/shastras. Ist Annamaya cell. Anna means food, so our body is preserved only when we eat/drink water. Veda/shastras say that the human body is only meant for doing religious deeds. Second number is Pranamaya cell which means respiration cell i.e., we are alive when we respirator. Third is Manomaya cell which mean thinking cell. Our mind always keeps on thinking of good or bad. Fourth is Vigyanmaya cell which means soul. So we are soul and not body. Soul is alive one and body is non alive. Fifth is Anandamaya cell which is God. When soul by the power of yoga philosophy reaches in this fifth cell he realizes Almighty God and the aspirant is , thus, called a Yogi. Vide Riga Veda mantra mandal l0 sukta129 and Samkhya shashtra sutra l/26 our body is made of matter (prakriti) . Almighty God while creating the universe generates the first universal part of body from prakriti called Mahata (Buddhi). From Mahata God generates Ahankara (Ego) i.e., recognizing power. Then in its series mana (mind) is generated. Vide Yajur Veda Mantra 34/1-3 there are five kinds of mana (mind) due to its different type of functions – Deva mana, Yaksh mana, Pragyan mana, chetas mana and Dhritti mana . Within the five above , the Chetans mana (mind) is called chitta on which the effect of every deed done by us is noted. Yoga practice prevents the effect and aspirants get Samadhi stage (Yoga).

Yoga Philosophy – Lecture 7

Meaning of word Yoga- karma yoga in Bhagwad Gita

According to the epic Mahabharata , Arjun, his brothers, family and public used to worship in the shape of yajna. Ashtang Yoga etc., being spiritual deeds and on the other hand everybody used to discharge their duties in respect of nation, family etc., too like progress in science, agriculture , education, defence , business , family affairs being worldly deeds/duties etc. , as spiritual or materialistic ,these two types of duties according to Vedas are required to be discharged by the human beings. So karma Yoga (duties towards Nation/family etc.) preached in Bhagwad Gita are the duties related to thereligious Mahabharat war for which Arjun is fundamentally liable to discharge being Kshatriya-a warrior in community and he discharged the same accordingly .This preach to Arjuna about his duty to take part in the religious war being auspicious deed as per the Veda’s teachings for a military man , has got no concern with Ashtang yoga mentioned in Patanjali Yoga Darashan/Vedas. Because when a military man like Arjun is required to be prepared for taking part in a war, preachof worship or Yoga is not feasible and even looks no nice at this belated stage. Therefore, we too see in epic Mahabharta that since childhood all five brothers and the public used to do worship like Yajna ,Ashtang Yoga separately in daily life being spiritual deed. After Mahabharta war,Yudhistra ,Arjun with other three brothers ruled over the Earth for thirty-six years and at last on advice by Vyas Muni they left the kingdom and went to the jungle for worship/Yajna/Ashtang Yoga for the remaining life.

A Rishi/Yogi is only capable to dig out real meaning of Vedas /Shashtras, duly blessed with divine eyes.

Mahabharta, Bhagwat Geeta, Valmiki Ramayan and like wise other holy books of the ancient Rishis like Kapil Muni, Gemini Rishi , Vyas muni ,Agastya Rishi have been written on the basis of knowledge gained from the four Vedas. As there was no other holy except Vedas and even there was no other religion/culture was originated by any Rishi/Munis.Whole of the Universe used to worship or discharge duties in accordance with the four Vedas only. So to dig out the real meaning either of the Vedas /Yoga originated direct from Almighty God, or of all shastras written by the ancient Rishis, it is only possible by a yogi who studied as well as practiced preached in the vedas. This Truth has been stated by lord Krishna in Bhagwad Gita, chapter 11, shloka 8th that “o Arjuna ! You are not able to see me with ordinary eyes you have , therefore I donate you the divine eyes. About these divine eyes, Yajur Veda mantra 31/19 says –

“ Tasye Yoni pari pashyanti Dheeraha”

Dheeraha means the Yogi who has attained Eighth stage of Ashtang Yoga i.e., Samadhi .So the Mantra says that only an Ashtang yogi is able to see (realize) Almighty God. Rigveda Mantra 1/164/16 says that he who is not an Ashtang Yogi and thus has not attained Samadhi step by step is, therefore not capable to realize the God or dig out the factual meaning of divine words of Vedas/Yoga etc.

Use of word yoga in Bhagwat Geeta and Vedas in particular situation Keeping in view the above truth, now we learn chapter 2 of Bhagwad Geeta shloka 48 & 50. In these shalokas a word Yoga has been mentioned. The word Yoga is also generated from sanskrit dhatu , “yujir yoge“where its meaning is to unite. This is common meaning of the word Yoga. In this sense , one can be united with several objects like instigated deeds, bad deeds, study, God, television, theft , wandering hither&thither and so on. Therefore while giving the description of chitta vritti (effect of various forms of chitta) Patanjali Rishi very nicely preaches in sutra 1/1 of Yoga Darshana about the common meaning of “Yoga” that basically it is the nature of the mind in all kind of the stages (materialistic/spiritual) to be attached or think on one subject all the time. So to be united with any kind of deeds is also a Yoga situation . These shlokas have been cited by Lord Krishna in the situation when Arjuna is not desirous of taking part in the religious war of Mahabharata. He did not want to be united with the war. So this condition has been cited in shloka 48 wherein Lord Krishna says to Arjun a word “Yogastha” means- do not be puzzled, determine your duty and with full attention you discharge the same at your level best .While discharging the duties keep aside the attachment and the result thereof , relating either in success or in failure i.e. unite yourself with the duties. Similarly, in the same situation Lord Krishna speaks the word “Budhi yukto” in shloka 50, “Budhi Yukto ”means union with mind (Budhi) i.e., Budhi Yoga,i.e. to discharge duties at level best which means that a learned person knows his duties well as stipulated in Vedas and discharges the same accordingly. This is actually a definition of Karma Yogi, who discharges duties and never thinks about the result with regards to success or failure. We must also not forget that Bhagwat Geeta has been written by Vyas Muni in a manner being recited by the mouth of Lord Krishna who both were learned, wiser and philosopher of the Vedas and Yoga. That is why in both the shlokas, they hint about the learned Karma Yogi. Secondly, Yogeshwar Krishna says that the Karma Yogi does not do the bad deeds being against the Vedas. So these two shalokas conclude that the Karma Yogi leaving behind the result of success or failure is only after the duties to be discharged. Therefore, in this chapter too, the word Yoga does not mean Ashtang Yoga preached in Patanjali Yoga Darshan /Vedas.Yajur Veda Mantra 2, chapter 40 also preaches about Karma Yogi that doing the auspicious deeds ,discharging the duties, he attains good health and long life of more than hundred years .In this way doing instigated deeds for family, nation and self etc., he will never be attached with the result of the duties. Thus when we will have not to bear the result of deeds, naturally we will be able for salvation. This stage of salvation is obtained by discharging the duties and not by leaving. That is why Lord Krishna says, O Arjuna! being a Karma Yogi and keeping aside the result of war, you take part in the war and accordingly you will have not to bear the result of the deeds being religious mentioned in the Vedas. Several duties like national politics, agriculture, education, military arrangements to safe guard the nation , services to parents, spiritual master, old man- woman, services towards family affairs , categorized as social and materialistic auspicious deeds are mentioned in the Vedas are religious. On the other hand , Vedas too speak loudly about the several spiritual auspicious deeds like Yajna, Yoga practice etc. Both the duties are to be discharged and not only one. The above cited Yajur Veda mantra says that these both two types of the instigated deeds- spiritual and materialistic are required to be done by human-beings . But in these two above shalokas 48 & 50, only one type of social materialistic instigated deeds are being preached by Lord Krishna i.e., to take part in the war and not the second type of spiritual deeds i.e., Ashtang Yoga or Yajna etc. So everywhere the meaning of the word Yoga does not mean either Ashtang Yoga or Karma Yoga. Just see that in the Sanskrit language , the meaning of ‘sandhava’ is salt and is horse too. But when we are eating then its meaning will be considered salt and not horse. And when we are ready to ride then its meaning will have to be taken as horse and not salt. Similarly ,is the case of word Yoga and other divine words of Vedas too. For examplelet us observe Rig Vedas first mantra Agnim Idehe Purohitam——‘.
This mantra says that we must desire for Agni. Now the worldly meaning of Agni is fire where as its spiritual meaning in this Mantrais Almighty God. According to this mantra, we desire to realize the Agni whose qualities are to creat universe, to nurse and to destroy it at an appropriate time, a town accord. Secondly, we are desirous of the Agni who takes care of human beings , who is giving the birth and by virtue of his blessings we are able to see our father, mother , and family; thirdly in this Rig Veda mantra, we desire the Agni who is showering upon us the blessings of food ,ornaments and all types of facilities around us. Now considering all the described qualities of the Agni mentioned in the mantra , a learned man (Rishi/Muni/Yogi) naturally digs out the meaning of such type of Agni as almighty God and not the fire. Because the burning worldly fire has got no such qualities of creating the universe etc., instead it has also been created by the Almighty God. So the burning worldly fire is not worship able in Vedic culture.

Vedas teach about only one Astang Yoga

DEFINITION OF A PREFECT YOGI

PRAISE OF YOGA PHILOSOPHY IN VEDAS

The Divine Word Yoga is generated from dhatu-Yuj Samadhau which means Samadhi and from Yujir Yoge which means to be united with God. Samadhi means realization of God or final liberation. Now days so many kinds of Yoga are being introduced in the public like Hath yoga, Bhakti yoga, Karma yoga, Gyan yoga, Naad yoga, Laya yoga, Swar yoga, shatang yoga, Raj yoga, Dhayan yoga, Jap yoga etc. As stated in the previous lecture no 5, these different kinds of yoga interpretations are not mentioned in four Vedas and six Shastras and other ancient spiritual books written by the ancient Rishis / Munis before Mahabharata war about more than five thousand years ago. Therefore, it is very much clear that our ancient Rishis, Munis practised only one Ashtang Yoga with its eight fold paths i.e; Yama, Niyama, Aasan, Pranayam, Pratyahar, Dharna, Dhayan and Samadhi stated in the most authenticated and ancient holy books viz. Four Vedas and Patanjali yoga Darshan etc. Yajur veda mantra 7/4 and Patanjali Yoga Darshan sutra 2/29 preaches all about the said Ashtang Yoga in token and its brief description will be given in the following lectures.

Perhaps Eight Fold Paths Of The Ashtang Yoga Not Being Preached Fully Now:

It is a matter of sorrow that somewhere only one path of Ashtang Yoga i.e., Aasan is being introduced as Yoga education unethically being against the ancient holy books like four Vedas and Yoga Darshan etc. Again, somewhere only meditation is being called Yoga knowledge, where as it is only the seventh path i.e., Dhayan of the Ashtang Yoga. Thus where only Aasan is being taught there the first two paths Yama and Niyama and the last five paths i.e,Pranayam Pratyahar, Dharna, Dhayan Samadhi have been excluded from the ancient and authenticated well known eight fold paths of

Ashtang yoga at one’s own accord. Similarly where only meditation is being taught as yoga Philosophy, naturally, the seven remaining paths of Ashtang yoga have been omitted. Now a days usually sadhus define Yoga education merely to sit, to remember the Holy name of God and concentrate at one point. This one is not a theory of the above said AshtangYoga. However this is the silent repetition of a Mantra/God’s name and should be done separately while sitting on suitable Aasan (posture). This omission from Ashtang Yoga education has created a lot of misunderstanding with regards to the great Indian Vedic philosophy of Yoga knowledge all over the world. However, to do the Aasan only may help to promote our health to some extent but cannot bless us with peace and other divine qualities like salvation briefed in previous lectures .

DEFINITION OF A PREFECT YOGI :-

When a devotee learns Ashtang Yoga Philosopy (from Yama to Samadhi) under guidence and blessing of an experienced Yogi, he is merged in practicing the eight fold path of Yoga philosophy step by step. Thus after long practice when he becomes able to control his five senses(ear, nose, eyes, tongue, skin)and five organs (hands, mouth, legs, rectum and sex)and eleventh the mind, then with the result he controls the chitta-vritti reaching at seventh fold path i.e., Dhayan (meditation). At this stage the devotee becomes purified keeping aside sex, anger etc., and worldly materialistic dirts. In this purified condition with the bliss of Almighty God he attains the eighth and final liberation stage of Samadhi (Yoga), where his soul realizes him and the Almighty God therein .This utmost merriment and final liberation stage of soul is called Samadhi(Yoga). Vyas Muni, Vashisht Muni, Rishi Vishwamitra and so many other Rishis mentioned in Mahabharta,Valmiki Ramayana,Tulsi Das’s Ramayana,Shashtras and Upnishads are recognized as true Samadhi attained Yogis traditionally at present perhaps, the said tradition looks over .In this connection Tulsi Das ji very rightly has shown sorrow in Uttarkand couplet 99(ka) that now a days oftenly the saints who have left the true path of Yoga and Vedas do not talk less than on the matter of Braham Gyan whereas they do not know about it.So called saints mostly have created their own paths of worships against Vedas and truth.Tulsi further states in verses about the effect of present time(Kalyug)that so called saints are having long-long beards and hairs, thief of others money with tacts, tell lie and mostly make spending fun.Tulsi Das ji tells that in Kalyug those saints who have these type of qualities are mostly praised and are famous to be a Braham Gyani (Yogi) .Only at the stage when a true Yogi like Vishwamirtra, Guru Vashisht etc., Yajur Veda mantra 5/14 recite

yunjte man yut yunjte—
i.e., the said Yogi places his mind / chitta in Almighty God and realizes the utmost merriment. In Yajur Veda mantra 31/

Aham ved Mahantam purushah–
i. e., the Yogi realizes God, the God who is self enlightened.Yajur Veda mantra 34/44 recites that only the aspirant who has attained the last 8th fold path stage of yoga, he only realizes omnipresent God .Rig veda mandal 10th sukta 124 mantra 7 says that at this stage Almighty God fully fulfills the soul with utmost merriment .Here we must note that Vedas as well as sutra 1/7 of Patanjali Yoga Darshan says that to determine the truth, the proof of Vedas is 100% essential and all the ancient and the present wiser know it very well and those who do have not studied Vedas and practiced Yoga Philosophy they are against the fundamentals and Tulsi Das ji has given their description a lot in Uttarkand .We must know that the Vedas/Shastras/Upanishads accept only the views mentioned in the Vedas as a proof .This fact has been mentioned in the Vedas as self proof and in Yoga Shashtra Sutra 1/ 7.In this connection Kapil Muni, writer of Samkhaya Shashtra, says that the thing which has been determined on the basis of true proof of Vedas that can not be condemned on the basis of mere imagination. For example Vyas Muni quotes that if somebody says that he has made a bow from rabbit’s horns then it can not be accepted as a truth because it is a direct proof of our eyes that a rabbit does not have horn. Therefore merely on the imagination the rabbit’s horn made bow can not be accepted in reality. Vedas and Shashtra, similarly, tell that without giving the proof of Vedas/Shashtras self-made views are not acceptable and this fundamental law to know truth from Vedas cannot be changed .So we must learn that only the Ashtang yoga has been preached by the God in four Vedas.

Yagvalka Muni in his Smriti 1/8 says that to realize soul and Almighty God by virtue of the Yoga philosophy is the utmost religious duty of the mankind . Yoga fulfills the desires, keeps away from the tensions, illness and oldage and at last even overcomes the death.

PRAISE OF YOGA PHILOSOPHY IN VEDAS

Saam Veda mantra 163 says-“Yoge yoge Indram uteye hawamahe—“

The divine word yoge relates in the matter of practicing Ashtang Yoga. When we learn and do yoga practice of Aasan, Pranayam etc .Indram -Almighty God, uteye-protection from evils like immoral sex, anger, proud etc., control on five senses and five organs and the false materialistic affairs .

Hawamahe-we call or remember the God. Therefore the meaning of this Veda mantra is that when a devotee is fully emerged to study and practice eighth fold path of Yoga philosophy doing Aasan, pranayam and meditation etc., he must remember God doing worship, admire and prayer for seeking protection from the hidden foe of the Yoga stated above .

Now it concludes that the word Yoga is a divine word because of its use in four Vedas as already stated in the previous lecture.

In this matter Rigveda mantra 8 /100/11 also clarifies that each word used in the Vedas is a divine word, stating_‘Divya Vacham Devaha Ajnyant’

Divya Vacham means divine words of the Vedas.Devaha means Rishi Munis who knows the Vedas.Ajnyant means to produce pronunciation .That is, first of all the Rishi-Munis utter the divine holy words of Vedas and thereafter common men and women become able to pronounce and know the same.Yajur veda mantra 31/11 says–
`‘Brahmano Asaya Mukham Aseet[Brahm means who knows Vedas]

that is he who knows Brahm is only an authorized Rishi to deliver preach and to denote Yoga philosophy. Here we must note that in Mahabharat Shanti-Parv Shalok 20,, Bhisham Pitamaha says, —Oh! Yudishtar the God is in two forms to understand—–Shabd Brahm and Par Brahm”.
Shabd Brahm means the knowledge of four Vedas to know by its study and Par Brahm means realization of adorable god through the power of Yoga education. The God who is omni present and creates the universe.By virtue of Yoga philosophy understood from Vedas, that is why Bhisham Pitamaha further says that, he who becomes a philosopher of Shabd Brahm i.e., of four Vedas by means of its study including Yoga philosophy mentioned therein, and secondly when he practises Ashtang Yoga and attains Samadhi then he only realizes Par Brahm i.e.,omni present God. It concludes that to realize Almighty God perfection in Shabad Braham (Vedas) and Ashtang Yoga both are essential fundamentally. Therefore, we see that it is not so easy. In Bhagwat Geeta shalok 7/19 Lord Krishna authentically says that the devotee who has been continuously meditating for the last so many births,he hardly realizes God at last. Lord Krishna further states in the shalok that this type of Yogi (alive) is not easy to meet. However to learn the Yoga education and the instigated deeds/duties from Vedas,r equirement of a learned alive Rishi-Muni-Yogi-Saint is stressed by fourVedas/Shashtras traditionally which one is also a duty of all the human beings to obey as obeyed by our forefathers even by Lord Rama whose Guru was Vashisht Muni and Lord Krishna whose Guru was Sandeepan Rishi. Both the Rishi-Muni were well conversant and philosopher of four Vedas and Ashtang Yoga and therefore used to do Yajna also. It is also a matter of sorrow that oftenly the saints of the present time are usually comparing them with the Rishis and Munis but they do not know Vedas/Ashtang Yoga. These saints even dares openly to say that because Lord Rama and Krishna also adopted Guru so the people should also accept them (present saints)as a Guru. People, thus, being innocent about Vedas Ashtang Yoga/Yajna and the past history of our forefathers accept the false Gurus stated in Tulsi Das Ramayan couplet 99(ka)and verses of Uttarkand stated above. Here we must learn that fundamental of the Almighty God preached in Vedas can not be changed.

As per the comments by Vyas Muni the Yoga(Samadhi) is a special quality of chitta(mind) in every stage, because it is a habit of the mind to think by any means every time .There are five stages of chitta, kshipt(f{kIr),murh(ewn),vikshipt(fof{kIr),ekagr(,dkx),nirudh(fuj)) when the chitta is in touch with rajo quality of prakriti and is wandering in materialistic world, this stage of chitta is called kshipt and is not fit for learning yoga philosophy. When it is in concern with tamo quality of prakriti, then chitta being lazy does not have interest in doing simple or hard job and it is a stage of murh and is not fit for yoga philosophy. At third stage, when the worldly desires are not fulfilled and the vritti is puzzled, it is vikshipt stage of chitta and too is not fit for learning Yoga philosophy. The fourth stage of chitta is called ekagr(concentration). In this stage the chitta has controlled the materialistic desires and has concentrated on one point that is eager to know truth.Only at this stage aspirant is capable to learn the knowledge of Yoga philosophy. The fifth stage is called Nirudh, in which the Vritti becomes dead[having little bit effect only] .This stage is called Sampargyat Samadhi(Yoga) being not final liberation because, the word, chitta vritti nirodh has got not the word complete chitta Vritti Nirodh, in the sutra.when complete chitta vritti is stopped and chitta becomes totally dead, then this stage is called Asampargyat Samadhi[full Samadhi-final liberation]. There are 4 kinds of this Sampargyat Samadhi (Yoga)-Vitarkanugat,Vicharanugat, Anandanugat and Asmitanugat, brief description of which follows.

Eternal Vedic culture for the whole world – Lecture 5

Atharvaveda says “Eko Brahm ——–.”means God is one who creates the Universe and there is no other God even equivalent to Him. After creating the Universe God has blessed us with the best education in the form of four Vedas wherein Yoga Philosophy along with so many other thousands of duties have been preached to be accepted by all human beings for a happy life. However, when a question of maintaining/promoting Indian Culture arises dresses, folk and classical music, literature in several languages and other more items are naturally deemed essential to be considered . But now a days it has been a matter of sorrow that the most ancient and authenticated Indian culture i.e. ,Yoga philosophy preached in four Vedas and still kept in the world’s library has been over sighted by one or the other reasons. This invaluable world fame culture used to be studied and adopted in daily life only by our forefathers like Lord Manu, Rama , Krishna, kings like HarishChandra and Yudishtra etc. By virtue of which they realized the truth, looked after the people nicely and properly and thus at last attained salvation i.e.,the main motto of life.In this way they have left behind a traditional auspicious deeds to be adopted by the following generations, essential for a long happy life and not the worst one usually seen now a days. Tulsi and Valmiki ji have stated this fact in their Ramayans about the happy life of the public of ancient times specially for Lord Rama also. They have awared Lord Rama with special quality- ” SHRUTI PATH PALAK” . Shruti means four Vedas i.e .Rama had been adopting his every step of life in accordance with the auspicious deeds like Yajna,Yoga Philosophy and to rule the Nation judiciously etc.,all preached in four Vedas. Therefore very rightly it has been a truly proverb of our great India that India by means of only said Vedic culture had been a pious Earth to generate Rishis/ Munis/Yogis and used to be called a world’s spiritual master and Golden bird. Now we come again on the culture .In previous series(Lecture 4) we were considering a word “Ashwa.”. Now a days the worldly meaning of word Ashwa is “Horse”. But its divine meaning is –

“ASHWA VAHI RASHTRAHA” i.e., Ashwaha means Nation. This divine meaning is mentioned in ancient Brahaman holy book written by Yask Muni . In all the ancient holy books like Maha-Bharat And Valmiki Ramayana etc., this word has been used stating that all the kings and people of ancient time like Lord Manu , Rama and Krishna used to organise/ perform several Ashva Megha yajnas in presence of Rishis/Munis for the benefit of Nation /Public. Because they knew its beneficial results in providing them with timely and pure rain, increase in crop productivity, purify water/ air , killing pollution, generating huge/ vast jungles with several kinds of trees/ vegetable/ herbs providing food to animal /birds etc, thus further increasing more milk and other pure foods to human life and too promoting international brotherhood with other thousands of benefits to the human beings. This word Ashwa has also been mentioned in Tusli Das’s Ramayana as “KOTI WAAJI MEDH PRABHU KINE”. Here waaji means ashwa and ashwa means nation i.e Shri Rama did more than crore Ashwa Megh Yajna for public benefits. In these holy Yajna, the preach of yoga and other instigated deeds used to be spread by the then Rishis . Valmiki ji thus ,very nicely ,has stated that in those days every family member was seemed to be as learned as a Maharishi.

WITHOUT PROPER YOGA EDUCATION PREACHED IN VEDIC CULTURE TRUE KNOWLEDGE DISAPPEARS RESULTING DESTRUCTION AT ALL LEVEL

Now our country is lack of such kinds of Rishis like Vyas Muni, Shringi Rishi, Atri Rishi, Guru Vashishta, Yogi Patanjanli, Kapil Muni and Kings like Dashratha,Harish Chandra,Shri Rama,Shri Krishna etc., who knew full knowledge of Vedas and yoga philosophy .So it seems to be a difficult task to promote proper Yoga philosophy and other instigated deeds/duties for public benefits. Again in Athrava Vedas Mantra 9/4/4 Vrishbhah has been used clarifying that when a cow delivers a calf, it should be nursed carefully so that the calf will be cause of healthy generations from cows in future. In this way the cow will be providing us with pure milk/butter/ ghee to promote good health of the citizens. But it has been a misfortune of our country that ,likewise the meanings of thousands of divine words of the vedas including Yoga, have been narrated false and used totally in the bad sense since long resulting inability to understand the true Yoga education preached in Vedas and adopted by our forefathers . This has certainly happened too in absence of the traditonal preach of the learned Rishi/ Yogis who knew Vedas. In this connection Atharva Veda mantra 7/2/1 truly states that, only a Rishi /Yogi knowing Yoga Philosophy briefed in Vedas and has attained the stage of Samadhi (final liberation) due to the hard practice of Ashtang Yoga, is capable to dig out the factual meaning of the divine words like Yoga. The words i.e., Horse and Ox have been spread and made known unauthentically in the form of killing Horse and Ox using their meats while performing holy Yajna whereas in whole of the Vedas in the matter of worship /spiritualism there has been no space left for violence. And what to say, where in Vedas the “Nar-Megh Yajna” has been preached for cremation of the dead bodies to avoid spreading bacteria of diseases harmful to the humanity.

But it has also been misinterpreted like Ox and Horse that in the holy Yajna an alive man should be slaughtered. Due to these baseless and false statements Indian Vedic philosophy containing Yoga knowledge and other preach concerning the auspicious deeds for human beings was made ruined. That a nation only stands and progresses due to its culture only .. We remained slaves for thousands of years .. During this period the Vedic
culture has been disappeared. That is why ,now a days most of the Sadhus/saints have started telling that Yajna and Yoga Education are not required in married life and even not required at all.To some extent they have even started denying Yoga/Vedas without knowing the same, with the remarks that these educations are difficult. In this regard Guru Nanak Dev ji states that do not tell that Vedas are false ,he is liar who does not study and does not know Vedas. We must recollect that our forefathers,Rishis/Munis, even Lord Rama , Krishna including all the Public of the ancient time did Yoga and Yajna and adopted the same a Vedic culture as the best education in their life like:-

(a) To eat and live together with love as per Atherva Veda Mantra 3/30/6. This process is now also seen in the form of langer and distribution of meals
while sitting together after Yajna keeping aside the caste/poverty system and ravages of hatred. However ,we have forgotten doing Yoga practice and Yajna as per Vedic culture.

(b) To get progress in life together in form of a strong nation, to have equal good views of instigated deeds, to worship together, to utter mantras together, to do Yoga together without questioning caste or poverty, love each other in accordance with the preach vide RigVeda mantra 10/191/2.

(c) Serve to father, mother, and Spiritual master, help the poor and donate to the needy personnel in accordance with Yajur Veda mantra 1/1.

(d) Chalk out your duties for human beings, worship and serve the nation in each of your capacity like Minister, family, agriculture, students take care of animals, Jungles and so on as preached in four Vedas.

(e) To collect and attain all the good deeds from Vedas, other Holy Books. Concentrate mind and control all five organs, five senses and mind by doing Yoga practice. In this regard all four Vedas’s preach on the matter of Yoga education is very widely and nicely described. Atharvaveda Kand 2, Sukt 16 preaches that overcome the death by Yoga educationand realize God too. Get long happy life duly free from all kinds of illness through the power of Yoga knowledge. Chapter Seven of YajurVeda preaches “Be a yogi and preach this education to others also”. Saam Veda Mantra 1735 says that awake early in the morning and do Pranayanam(Yoga) and mantra1534 says that all the diseases will be removed by Yoga education. RigVeda Mantra 10/91/7 says that realize Almighty God by Yoga Philosophy. All Vedas authenticates that only a Yogi who controls his senses, organs and mind through the power of Yoga, realizes God. Saam Veda and Rig Veda say that God only appears in three places- 1st. While doing Yajna with Ved Mantras ,2nd in the heart of a Yogi Who did ashtang Yoga and attained Samadhi and
3rdly when a samadhi attained Yogi preaches Vedas.

So the Indian Vedic culture concludes that Yoga is only the best way to achieve the life target of realizing God and even to do auspicious deeds in family life to be a good citizen to establish a strong Nation. Now we come to the point to brief the Vedic Yoga philosophy.
