Ashwin: Swamiji,my pranams to you. Q1: Are you gonna translate Bhagawad Geeta in English? I don’t know Hindi. I am very eager to learn Geeta that too from a great Vedic scholar like you. I think it’s the first and foremost duty of mine to read Geeta which I haven’t done so far. So please translate Geeta in English if possible.
Q2: I have read from another website that Yajna have a deep meaning and means noble selfless acts and not merely Havan. Is it true? Please explain me.
Q3:Why did Sri Krishna observed 12 years of Brahmacharya after his marriage? What was the purpose behind such a long time of celibacy? Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.

1.) I have started with the grace of God English translation of Bhagwad Geeta but it will take long time to complete but still I shall try to complete it in parts as early as possible.

2.) Yes, please. Yajyen has the deepest meaning itself. Vedas tell, “Yajo vai Pranaha” i.e., Yajyen hamare prann hain i.e., Yajyen is our vital air i.e., if we perform daily yajyen then only we become able to maintain respiratory system quite well, otherwise several obstacle etc., takes place and to make our life long.. It purifies the air and atmosphere also. “Yajo vai Vishnuhu” i.e., Yajyen itself is like an omnipresent God. When we perform Yajyen, Atharvaveda states that we actually do real worship of Almighty God and He remains present and listen to our prayers in it. When we perform Yajyen its all articles spread everywhere and becomes beneficial to all living-beings. Yajurveda states, our life is increased, we earn plenty of money, our sorrows are destroyed and we start getting pleasure, wealth, inspiration to discharge moral duties, fulfillment of pious desire and salvation is attained by performing yajyen. The benefit of yajyen are innumerable and cannot be described in full. It is our bad luck nowadays that human-beings have forgotten it due to lack of knowledge of Vedas. We all should take firm decision now to return towards Vedas that is to go at the place where the learned of Vedas preaches the most supreme and the purest ‘Ved Vanni’ for the benefit of human-beings. In addition, where yajyen are performed at least two times a day i.e., in the morning and evening. Now I tell you the meaning of Yajyen which requires more attention to adopt in daily life. The meaning of yajyen is “ Devpooja, Sangatikaran and Daan” . The meaning of Pooja in Sanskrit is to give respect (aadar, maan , samman). So, we have to give aadar, maan , samman first to Dev. Here the meaning of Dev is – Mother, father, learned person, learned acharya of Vedas and yoga philosophy. So every body must take care of their parents and elders etc., by providing them clothes, food, residence ,best asan, beddings and good conduct with them. Similarly, pious deeds should be done with learned persons of Vedas and thereafter to adorable and respectable learned acharya who teaches us the eternal knowledge of Vedas which emanates direct from God. The study and holding of which makes a person learned and destroys his all sorrows and enjoy long, happy life.

The meaning of sangatikaran is that a person becomes able to serve his learned acharya to the extent that acharya is satisfied and in return he preaches the vedic knowledge to his disciples.

Third is ‘Daan’, when preaches start and Yajyen are held then dakshina(daan) is offered respectfully to the acharya. Vedas tell that the donation is only offered to the authentic learned acharya or authentic needy person.

3.) When mata Rukmani requested Sri Krishna to obtain a baby then in return Sri Krishna advises her to do twelve years of tapasya maintaining brahamcharya to get learned child. Actually Vedas knowledge tell to touch the wife or husband only to get baby and whenever such pious process is completed, the ancient rishis, munis, raj rishis or the learned public used to live separately from each other. In the absence of Vedic knowledge this kind of practice is not being followed nowadays resulting in several kind of diseases and early mortality.

SSR: Dear swami ji my father died on January 14th. Everyone says that this happens to only lucky people. Please comment.
Swami Ram Swarup: My dear Singhji, Namaste.all Vedas, shastras, Gurubani preach us that luck is based on our present live’s pious deeds and worship of God, while discharging all moral duties. Luck has no concern with any kind of death. You see, when soul goes out of the body then the soul has to take human or animal, birds, bodies etc., based on his deeds, so in the next birth also deeds make the luck of every soul. That is why, every pious Holy Granth and learned acharya of Vedas preaches everybody to discharge his duties faithfully and to do always pious deeds under the guidance of any learned acharya to make the future bright.

MGD: Pranam Swamiji, I am totally unaware of any learned Acharya of Vedas and Ashtang yoga in Bengaluru. Can I ask for suggestion from you regarding this?
Swami Ram Swarup: Sorry, I do not know any learned acharya in Bangalore. However, you are advised to make contact with local Arya Samaj mandir for the same.

K H Sharma: Pujya Shri Swamiji Can we do Puja of Mahashiratri or can we go in Shiv Mandir to Abhishek Shiv Bhagwan, if someone in our family has given birth to a baby girl?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Worship of Almighty God can never be broken in any circumstances say Vedas. However, Vedas, Shastras, Upnishads and all the holy books written by ancient Rishi-Munis say to worship only one, Formless, Almighty, omnipresent God Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. He is only our lord.
