Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji. Meaning is that soul is immortal and is a part of Almighty God. The soul is alive, far from illusion and is a form of pleasure.
In the doha, where it is said that soul is a part of Almighty God is against the Vedas. As said in Yajurveda mantra 40/8, God is “Avarnnam” i.e., no hole can be pierced into God then question of making part of God does not arise. You see, even not even a minutest hole can be made into the air, which is a part of creation, then how can a part of creator Himself be made.
Vishal: Namaste Guruji, Guruji I have to ask What is nature of soul, is it blissful or ignorant by nature. If it is blissful by nature then why it need of take body to get bliss.
Swami Ram Swarup: Nature of soul is alive matter, immortal, purest, knowledgeable, form of pleasure, but due to influence of raj, Tam and satva qualities of prakriti i.e., atma makes contact with it through five senses and forgets his own said form. Thus, the soul comes within the bindings of deeds and as a result, the soul faces the result of all good and bad deeds of previous lives’ and whatever does in the present life, will have to be faced in the future births, in the form of happiness and sorrows, respectively. Human- body is provided by God to listen to Vedas and do daily name jaap of God, agnihotra/yajyen and hard- practice of ashtang Yoga under the guidance of learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga, while discharging all moral duties towards family, society and nation.
