Swami Ram Swarup: The sequence of creation as per Yajurveda mantra 23/54 and Yog Shastra sutra 1/26 is from prakriti the first matter is created Mahat i.e., intellect then ahankar, panch tan matranni, eleven indriyan then five sthool bhoot i.e., Akash, Agni, vaayu, earth and water. From five bhoot the whole creation created including moon. Yajurveda mantra 31/12 also refers.
