Varun: My question is in reference to Atharvaveda mantra 1/14/1 “ A good wife should establish herself permanently in her husband’s house just as mountain firmly establishes itself on ground. Does that mean girls can’t have careers of their own? And also are Veda against music and dance?

M S V Rao: Has there ever been a custom or rite for the bride to prostate in front of the groom in the marriage rituals of Hindus?
Swami Ram Swarup: If such custom exists then it is self-made custom as its description is not mentioned in Vedas, please.

P: I am doing havan regularly. My neighbours are alleging that it is jadu tona.

K D Gupta: Swamiji pranam. As everyday sun shines with an advance thought. Are Vedas, which contain only feeling parmatma as nirgun, old, as parmatma can be seen with Ananyabhakti, as gita says?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. God, being formless cannot be seen with eyes. The said fact has clearly been told by Yogeshwar Sri Krishna Maharaj in Bhagwad Geeta shloka 11/8 that Oh Arjun! You cannot see me with your corporal eyes.

Kamal Nayan Gulati: Are there any times that one should not read Vedas? In Vedas are names of Gods and Goddesses mentioned?

G Raghuram: Dear Swamiji, If due to work / travel I am not able to perform ammavasey tarpanam then what is the alternatve or what precaution I have to take.
Swami Ram Swarup: Amavasya tarpannam means performing Yajyen with Ved mantras on the pious day of Amavasya as stated in Atharvaveda mantra 7/79/1. If it is not performed due to travelling then all the mantras can be recited in mind.

Madhuri Verma: Is amavasya auspicious for performing Mundan? How about performing Mundan on Shani Amavasya or is it better to perform Mundan on Som (Monday) amavasya?
