Arya: Hello swami ji, can you show me a mantra in Vedas that supports rebirth (reincarnation)? I saw a video of zakir naik and he says that in Vedas there in no mention of reincarnation, he says that the Vedas only speaks of punar janam and that means only punar means next janam means life he says it means next life ( heaven or hell ) how you can explain me the reincarnation in Vedas?
Swami Ram Swarup: Rebirth is eternal and everlasting process of the universe otherwise one day there will remain no creation of living bodies. However, Vedas tell that creation is also eternal and everlasting process. Several Ved mantras talk about rebirth but following mantras are specific about it. If you will send me your postal address, then I’ll send you the meaning and idea of these mantras. Rigveda mantra 1/24/1,2 and Yajurveda mantra 3/54,55.

Shashikant Pandey: Swamiji,Namastey- what is patience and how it effects the life?
Swami Ram Swarup: Namaste. If a person makes no reaction viz., anger, pride greed etc., after listening bad words abuses etc. Instead he remains calm and maintains peace, it means he has patience. Secondly, in any acute miserable circumstances, he remains calm and faces each situation bravely and happily, it means he has got patience. Otherwise, impatience ruins the physical setup, nervous system, mental setup of the person. Sometimes heart stroke or brain stroke are also seen in that situation.
