D: I have sinus problem while I do meditation I feel like any thing is happening between two eyes so if I dont take medicine will meditation cure my problem as in meditation kundalini will go up and it removes all diseases in body.
Swami Ram Swarup: For sinus problem, you must please continue your medical treatment otherwise the trouble will remain forever and yoga practice will do nothing. It is wrong concept that when Kundalini gets awakened then all diseases will be removed from body. Actually, kundalini gets awakened only after doing hard practice of Ashtang yoga, Yajyen, name jaap, listening of Vedas, regular contact with learned acharya of Vedas and as a result overcoming all diseases. So, diseases are first removed then realisation becomes possible. My blessings to you for a long, happy life.
Shweta: I am from Arya Samaj family. I follow havans, Vedas and regularly chant gayatri mantra too. In academic I am very good and even able to grab in top companies but never able to stick in anyone of job more than 2 months. Please advice how to strengthen and stabilise my life.
Swami Ram Swarup: It is good that you are from Arya samaj family. Therefore You may also be knowing that to follow the Vedas, its study or listening is necessary. I have met with several Arya Samaj families in Jammu where I was shocked to see that every family was involved in idol worship as well. I feel that it was due to not listening /studying Vedas regularly. Regular contact with learned acharya of Vedas is also needed.
Your firm decision, brahamcharya, regular practice of asans, Prannayam and meditation will give you physical and mental strength. You see, earning is necessary, say the Vedas. Morning walk and light exercise is also required.
Girish Mulay: Which book or set of books (preferred in English) give detail knowledge of each of the Veda’s. I am looking knowledge not only in terms of God & divine but science/management/etc. What to learn & implement what our rich history had, which was never taught in school. A true knowledge base which will preserved for whole of life.
Swami Ram Swarup: I have mostly written Vedas knowledge in English and Hindi. A list of books (in English) written by me is also on the website. For rest of the books, I will suggest you to contact M/S Vijay Kumar Govind Ram, Nai Sadak, Delhi. You may give my reference to them.
Indira: When I was a little girl, around 7 years old on the night of Diwali, after finishing my homework I looked at the ceiling and saw a shadow of Lord Shiva, moving into the hallway of my house. I know it wasn’t an illusion because to be honest, I was thinking about nice sweets. Why did I see it? Can you please tell me? I’ve always wondered why. Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: You have seen the shadow only which is not a reality. This could be due to the result of your thinking about Shivji Maharaj in previous /present life. You see, Yogeshwar Sri Krishna Maharaj also states that Oh Arjun! You can’t see me with these eyes of yours. Yogi realizes formless God and divine happening always with closed eyes in Samadhi.
C K Jayaram: According to my birth chart will I take up a job in the near future. If yes then where?
Swami Ram Swarup: It depends on your qualification and hard labour to search a job because you see God helps those who help themselves. So, please try at your level best for the same. Secondly, to seek the help of Almighty God , chant daily Gayatri Mantra and do hawan both times with Gayatri Mantra. Then Pray to God to help you. He will sure help you.
Himanshu: Who were Sarwan kumars parents in Ramayana, the names?
Swami Ram Swarup: Sorry, I do not know the name of parents of Shravann Kumar. It is not mentioned in authentic holy book Valmiki Ramayan.
Lubna: You have said that there is no concept of avtars in Veda then what are these references kindly reply:
* Vishnu’s 3 steps are mentioned in the Rig Veda [ RgV. VI.49.13 ] as the steps for Manu or man in distress.
* The Aitareya Brahmana I.1 calls Vishnu Parama ( highest ) 110-111
* The Katha Upanishad III.9 states that the goal of Human soul is Vishnu’s abode of eternal bliss [ Katha Upanishad III.9 ] [ cf RV I.22.20 ] [ Sircar 110-111 ].
* There was once a contest among the gods as to who was the greatest. Vishnu by his deeds reached the end of the sacrifice and won, and is referred to as the most excellent of the Gods [ Satapatha Brahaman XIV.1.1 ][ Taittriya Aranyaka V.1 Pancavimsa Brahmana VII.5.6] [ Sircar 110-111 ].
* Satapatha Brah. I.2.5 mentions the dwarf, fishand tortoise incarnations of Brahma [ cf Sat.Br.XIV.1.2, Taittriya Samh. VII.1.5; Taitt. Brha.I.1.3 ] ; these were not yet assoc with Vishnu but with Brahma [ Sircar 132 ] and on the subsequent absorption of Brahma into an incarnation of Vishnu, these became Vishnu’s incarnations.
* The legend of Vishnu’s head being severed from body to give rise to the Sun or aditya is already mentioned in the Brahmanas [ Satapatha Brahmana XIV.1.1 ].
Swami Ram Swarup: “VISHLARI VYAPTAU VISHNUHU” i.e., Vishnu word is made from root word “Vishlari” whose sense/meaning is Vyaptau i.e., omnipresent. So the name of formless God is also Vishnu having the divine quality of being omnipresent. Vedas state that after creating the universe, God enters the universe and i.e., why he is called omnipresent.
So the meaning of Rigveda mantra 6/49/13 is the Vishnu i.e., omnipresent God creates the universe and thus He brings about welfare of human-beings. Rigveda mantra 1/164/46 and Yajurveda mantra 32/1 state “Ekam Sad Rupa Vipra Bahuda Vadanti” i.e., there is only one formless God but His names are unlimited based on His unlimited divine qualities. I quote one of my articles to this effect:
Trinity
There is only one God who is formless, creates, nurses and destroys the universe. He is Almighty and supreme, beyond description, beyond imagination and beyond calculation. He is omnipresent and omniscient. Divine qualities of Almighty God are described in eternal knowledge of Vedas. Vedas emanate direct from God. So all Hindus and others too believe in Vedas.
Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are the name of one said God. God has no wives please because He is Almighty and needs no assistance etc. No one is above God please. All religions tell to worship God.
God is formless
Being formless there is no need of statue or temple of God according to Vedas. As a matter of fact, you, I or every human being, lives in a body. Body is separate, we are called souls. Vedas say soul has no form even. Then also we know each other. For example even if you have not seen the photograph of King Akbar then, you can know Akbar by means of the study of his qualities. So is the case with the God. If an aspirant really goes to his Guru and listens Vedas like Shri Ram, and ancient kings and their public then he will be able to know hundred percent about formless God. Then comes realization for which Vedas (especially Samveda) says that he who performs Yajyen, does jaap (according to Vedas) and practises Ashtang Yoga Philosophy while remaining in family like Shri Ram etc., he sure realizes ,being eternal law.
If we will meditate concentrating outside our body which is also against Vedas/Ashtang Yoga Philosophy, then our attention will always naturally remain outside i.e., attached with outer world i.e., decoration/music/dances etc. In that case subject matter of God will be over. It will be converted into spending fun, doing dances and singing attractive songs by ladies and gents, which is totally against Vedas. Thus the chapter of praising God, True Acharya, Rishi-Munis, performing Yajyen, practice of Ashtang Yoga, eternal knowledge of Vedas etc., will be over.
It is also baseless to say that study of Vedas and practice of yoga philosophy is difficult. It is self made story because Vedas are also called Shruti i.e., Vedas are to be listened first and not to be studied. So to listen to the Vedas, a learned Acharya is needed. The Acharya will explain the Ved mantras in the Yajyen in your own language i.e., in English or Urdu etc., and for an aspirant to do asan, pranayaam, meditation etc., is also not difficult. It is all difficult for those human beings, including present false prophets, (who are against the Vedas), who are lazy, can’t awake early in the morning to listen Vedas and fail to do practice of yoga philosophy. Those people are always after money, materialistic articles and pomp and show etc.
Vedas are not written or spoken by God. This knowledge is emanated from God and is originated in the heart of four Rishis as stated above. God is Almighty i.e., He has all powers. So He needs no assistance to do universal deeds. In human body alive soul resides and soul is dependent, soul requires mouth to speak, eye to see, hand to write etc., etc. but not God. From His power God originates the knowledge of Vedas in the Rishis without writing, or speaking etc. Vedas’ knowledge is divine. The fundamental of the Vedas is this that it was not written or spoken. The knowledge by the power of God was originated about one Arab 96 crore, 8 lakh and 53 000 years ago. Then first time the four Rishis of unsexual creation started pronunciation of the mantras by the power of God. God wanted them to know word meanings and senses of the mantras and therefore the Rishis knew all. Then first time the four Rishis started pronunciation of the mantras. They taught the
mantras to other ignorant people. Then another rishis were produced who knew the Vedas by heart by listening only. There was no paper, ink or pen there. The Vedas were being learnt by mouth to mouth and traditionally this process is yet in force. But mostly not by heart but taking help of the printed book. So printed books are not called Vedas but these are called samhita.
Samhita means the collection of Ved mantras. Therefore Present printed books cannot be considered as Vedas and will never be in future, but samhita. Kapil Muni throws light on this point in his Sankhya Shastra 5/48 that when a rishi does tapsya in the shape of Yajyen, study of Vedas, practice of Ashtang Yoga then the Ved mantras still (now also) originate in heart of the Rishi and the rishi pronounces the mantras. Those mantras are called Vedas, which emanate from God. So Vedas must first be listened (study) from alive Acharya (Guru who knows Vedas). Then only Samhita (books of Vedas) can help.
Similarly, The Aiteryo Brahman shloka number 1/1 quotes about Vishnu Param (highest) i.e., definitely Vishnu i.e., omnipresent God is the highest. He is the supreme commander of the universe. Similarly, Kathopnishad shloka 3/9 states about “Vishnu Paramam Padam” i.e., omnipresent God is supreme in the universe.
Similarly rigveda mantra 1/22/20 states “Vishnuhu Yat Parmam Padam”.
Meaning- (VISHNUHU) omnipresent God (YAT) that (PARMAM) supreme (PADAM) position i.e., the supreme position of the Almighty God (VIPRASAHA) the learned of Vedas/Yogi (SAMINDHATE) make known/realise i.e., the supreme position of the Almighty God is made known/realised by the learned acharya of Vedas/Yogi.
Here it must be noted that when we take reference of Ved mantras then we should be in a position to have the knowledge of all four Vedas traditionally. Then naturally we will preach or talk on Vedic culture. Nowadays, mostly some of the saints take few references from the Vedas mainly to oppose the Vedas. Reason behind, they did not study Vedas traditionally. Secondly, they want to impose their sect which they are associated. Such saints change the meaning of Vedic word at their own.
Shatpath Brahmin Granth never states about incarnation. It is regarding war between Devas and asur (devils). It gives the knowledge about Vedi wherein Yajyen is performed.
Shatpath Brahmin Granth has been written by Yagyavalkya Rishi and Shandilya Muni who were the philosophers of Vedas. Rishi-Munis are the philosophers of Vedas and ashtang Yoga Philosophy. They can never tell about incarnation. So no rishi can ever say about incarnatuion.
So is the reference about Shatpath Brahmin Granth chapter 1, Brahmin 2 which tells about Yajyen etc. So Shatpath Brahmin Granth never states about incarnation of Vishnu etc., being against the Vedas. And there is no mention about dwarf, fish and tortoise’s incarnation of Brahma. No Brahmin Granth has stated about severance of Vishnu’s head to create sun/aditya.
Shatpath Brahmin Granth 14/1/1 states about performance of Yajyen to get wealth, fame glory, food etc., and not about severance of Vishnu’s head etc.
