Anonymous: Pranam Guru ji Is eating sprouted food like sprouted chana, dal etc is a sin? As we are killing newly generated organisms in form of sprouts. Do these sprouts have jeevatma? If it is not a sin then please tell me how should I make others clear that killing new organism in form of sprouts is not a sin.
Once again Pranam Guru ji.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. To eat sprouted chana, dal is not a sin being a vegetarian food. In Vedas, God has defined such matter in vegetarian category. Actually, it has been a tendency to criticize a person who is vegetarian by all means. Chana and all dals are also used as vegetarian meal i.e., makes dal by boiling the same. So, if we eat the same by making sprouted meal then how it can be considered a sin and as said above, the permission in Vedas has been given by God.

Sharmista: Pranaam respected swamiji. In hindu religion are there any restrictions on women with regards the preparation of bhog.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. No please. There is no restriction on women to prepare bhog in worshipping. However, she should avoid in 3-4 days of menstrual periods.
