M. A.: Pranam Guruji, How can we get rid of the fruits of the bad karmas
/sins committed in this life? Do we get the fruits of those karmas in this life itself? Can we remove the effects or impressions of those karmas from mind and soul so that it does not effect in next birth?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessing to you. As per Rigveda mantra 10/135/1, 2, present human-life is meant for facing the result of sins and pious deeds of previous lives’ only and whatever we have been doing in present life, sins or pious deeds, they will be borne in next life. Repentance is the best way to get rid of fruits of bad karmas. I mean to say, if a person with firm decision repents on his sins and vows not to repeat the same in future then, he gets good result. However, to destroy the effect of sins of previous and present life completely, one will have to follow the Vedic path. I also paste my article for your information as under-

Three types of Deeds

There are three types of deeds (karmas) – sanchit, prarabhadh and kriyamann. Suppose one soul has to take birth (body). It means he has to face total number of deeds of his all previous lives and these deeds are called sanchit karmas but sanchit deeds are huge/unlimited and cannot be faced in one life. So the karmas which can be faced in one life are called prarabhadh (luck-destiny). So God has not made our luck at His own but Almighty God has considered the deeds which we have already done.

Yajurveda mantra 7/48 clarifies that human being is free to do any deed good or bad but God only awards the result. Now the balance deeds from sanchit deeds will be counted in the next life. Now the deeds which we do in our day today present life are called kriyamann.

If we do pious deeds according to Vedas, shastras and holy books and based on pious preaches of Rishi, Muni/learned saints then our all sanchit deeds are burnt and we can get salvation. Human beings are free in the matter of doing deeds good or bad. But result will be awarded by God. So we must worship and do pious deeds under guidance of a learned Guru. One should go always ahead for hard working, pious deeds, worship to make future bright himself. One should always work hard towards a right path.

Worship does not mean that we are free to discharge only our family duties, education, etc., but rather it is a sin. We have to get progress in both way simultaneously i.e., spiritualism and worldly progress i.e., science, education, duties towards family etc. God creates the universe according to His eternal law framed in Vedas which are always unchangeable and unchallengeable. So we have to follow the law of God always to get long happy life.

Pandit Roop Sukhram: Pujya Swami: I am stunned that you would declared Raja Dasaratha never had a daughter. I believe you should read Vaalmeeki Raamaayaan. Oh, by the way, her name was Shaanta. She grew up in the ashram of Lomapada Rishi and got married to Shringi Rishi. Namaste, Pandit Roop Sukhram.
Swami Ram Swarup: Whatever you are telling about Shanta is not mentioned in Valmiki Ramayan that she was daughter of king Dashrath, which is an authentic spiritual book. However, false shlokas have also been added in the said pious Ramayan which are not accepted by learned of Vedas. We must spread our original Indian Vedic culture but not false shlokas.

Mudiraj: Now with the advent of the TV media/channels showing different mantras online for common man. It is said any beez aksharam cannot be said by non-brahmans, even OM also should not be uttered by a non-brahamin and ladies. Please comment/clarify.
Swami Ram Swarup: Ved mantras have deep and secret meaning also which is told by a mantradrishta Rishi/Yogi. So, we must carefully listen or read the Vedas whose description is done by a learned dignitary.

Vedas are eternal knowledge which emanate directly from God in the beginning of earth. Because God nurses as father, hence His Vedic knowledge is also applicable to all human-female or male. You see, peace or salvation etc., is experienced by soul which resides in the human body. I mean to say, preach is meant for soul and not body hence Vedas are applicable to everyone. So, is the case of reciting/ listening of pious name of God – Om.

Ashwin: Swamiji,my pranams to you. Q1.Who are the authors of the 11 principal Upanishads?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Rishis are the author of eleven Upnishads. You are advised to purchase the Upnishads and know the authors.

Ashwin: Q2. Is there any mantra in Vedas that tells that even blind belief in Vedas lead to misery?
Swami Ram Swarup: Blind belief is always harmful. Even more listening of Vedas will not be fruitful for us until its teachings are imbibed in life (Rigved mantra 10/164/39 refers).

Ashwin: Q3. Is the story of Nala Damayanthi true? Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: Sorry, I do not know whether the story of Nal Damyanti is true or not. You are welcome, please.

Vikrant: Can we see God?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, everyone is entitled to realize God in human-life if he/she listens and follows Vedic path. However, God cannot be seen with naked eye because He is formless.

Vikrant: Apne bola ki god ko kalyug ko nast karne k liye avtar lene ki jarurat nhi toh fir aisa kyo kaha jata hai ki kalyug mai vishnu bhagwan kalki name se avtar lenge?
Swami Ram Swarup: Kalki avtar ke vishaye mein apne-apne vichaar hain isliye is avtar ke vishaye mein janta kehtee hai. Parantu vedon ke anusaar avtar leina sambhav nahin hai.

Vikrant: Apne bola ki maran or uchchatan mantra vedo mai nahi hai. par rigved mai kai sare maran or stambhan mantra diye hue hai. or apne kaha ki maran mantra hote hi nahi. jabki hamare desh mai khash kar bangal mai ye sabse jyada use kiye jaate hai. or mene aisa karte hue bhi dekha hai or mai iss par pura vishwas karta hu.
Swami Ram Swarup: Maine yeh satya kaha ki maran or uchchantan mantra aadi vedon mein nahin hain. Yeh manushyon nein apne aap banaye hain. Inke pramann vedon mein nahin hain.

Ashwin: Swamiji, my pranams to you.
Q1. It is propagated in one site that listening or chanting of Vedas affects some parts of the female body and hence women are not allowed to chant Vedas and also during their pregnancy etc. Is this true? Please clarify me.
Q2. How did Bhishma Pitamaha had the strength of surviving some days in that bed of arrows? Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.
1.) God nurses us and is therefore, father of all living-beings. God especially has given Vedic knowledge to human-beings. Preach of Vedas enables human-beings to spend long, happy life while discharging all moral duties and at last to get salvation.
I mean to say preach of Vedas is meant for all human-beings and is meant for souls and not bodies because happy life/salvation is meant for souls and not bodies. Therefore, ladies are equally entitled to study, listen and follow Vedas to spend long, happy life and attain salvation. During pregnancy when mother chants or listens to Vedas, the baby who has to take birth, is also benefited equally.

2.) Bheeshma Pitamaha spent his life maintaining complete Brahmacharya and following Vedas’ preach. As a result, he attained divine powers.

Avinash: “KALYUG KEWAL NAM ADHARA SUMIRI SUMIRI NAR UTRAHIPARA” THESE WORDS SAID BY ST. TULSIDASJI WHEN AND WHERE?
Swami Ram Swarup: Because it will take time to search it in Tulsi Ramayan and being busy I would not be able to search it, therefore you’re requested to search the same from Tulsi Ramayan at your end.
