Swami Ram Swarup: There is no shortage of any kind of wealth in Almighty God. That is why, Rigveda mantra 1/1/1 states “Hotaram Ratnadhatamam” i.e., God holds uncountable wealth, gems etc. So your hard-working along with regular worship of the God will fulfill your desire. Never forget to do daily worship of God by reciting Gayatri mantra along with its meaning and doing havan daily, both times with Gayatri mantra.

Query: We are all very upset about the terrorist attack in Mumbai. What should government do, according to Vedas?
Swami Ram Swarup: Qualities of King/Political leaders in Vedas:-
(1) King should be saviour (protector) of public and must be religious(i.e. must know Vedas’ philosophy as was known by King Dashrath, Harishchandra, Sri Ram, Sri Krishna Maharaj etc., who saved the public, gave justice, food, basic amenities to their subjects and nursed the people like their own children. In their reign, no one could dare to become terrorist.

Alvin Lal: Pranaam guruji, the logic that, past karma’s apply in this life and you will get birth in next life according to your karma in this life does not make sense. Guruji please clarify.
If the above logic is true, then why is population on the increase and why is crime increasing, if the above logic is true, then human population should be decreasing, because re-birth will be in the form of Dog, Cat or lower..etc.. due to criminal activities (karma / deeds)… i.e. Why is population increasing if your re-birth is according to deeds done here in this life?
