Alvin Lal: Pranaam Guruji, are all souls the same thing, i.e. they all are dependent, need attachment, take re-birth (unless moksh), face result of deeds? Therefore is the soul in an animal, tree is no different to a soul in a man i.e. is it the same thing? If the above is true, then it is interesting that the soul in me today, could have been a tree in previous life? Also it is interesting that if the soul type in plants is the same soul type as humans, animals… yet we can consume and kill plants, but it is a sin to do so to animals and murder is criminal sin.. As per Vedas?

If a person does hard and intelligent efforts in his or her profession and become rich, is it the result of his or her hard work or the result of the good karmas of previous births?

Swami Ram Swarup: There is no shortage of any kind of wealth in Almighty God. That is why, Rigveda mantra 1/1/1 states “Hotaram Ratnadhatamam” i.e., God holds uncountable wealth, gems etc. So your hard-working along with regular worship of the God will fulfill your desire. Never forget to do daily worship of God by reciting Gayatri mantra along with its meaning and doing havan daily, both times with Gayatri mantra.
