A three-day long Yagya on Vyas Purnima concluded, here today.
Hundreds of devotees from Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab participated in the holy Yagya and offered ‘Aahuties’ amidst the chanting of Vedic Mantras. The devotees were dipped in the spiritual bliss of Vedic Mantras for 3 days.
Former minister in J&K Government Rajeev Jasrotia was the ‘Yajman’ of this 3-day Yagya on Vyas Purnima.
“There is need to listen and follow the teaching of Vedas which are universally applicable to all Human Beings, irrespective of caste, color and creed” said Swami Ram Swaroop Ji Yoga Acharya while preaching the teaching of Vedas on conclusion of the Yagya.
Swami Ji in his sermons exhorted the devotees to follow the Vedic path. He said, “Holy Vedas have directly emanated from God and Vedic teachings are about peace and Universal Brotherhood. The citizens should imbibe the virtues and conduct which Lord Rama stood for and should excel in both material and spiritual pursuits”.
Further, he stressed that the study of Vedas should be made a part of school curriculum and children from the younger age should inculcate pursuits of spirituality. “The Vedic Knowledge amongst the children is more relevant today because of perpetual violence and hatred in the society,” Swami Ji asserted.
Pertinently, Full Moon day during Ashada month is known as Vyas Puja day. Traditionally, this day is reserved for Guru Puja Day. Vyas Purnima is commemorated as birth anniversary of Ved Vyas who compiled Vedas.
