MCG: Pranam Guruji, I received your advices for my questions earlier. I am very much
thankful to you for that. I really think now that if everybody can get guidance from a guru like from childhood till the end, there cannot be a problem in in living life. In the context of my earlier question, I want to ask that… Can a person who has committed sin(any kind of) has a capacity to grow spiritually if he is determined to do so? How many days are required to learn Ashtang yoga philosophy and others?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, please. You see, a doctor s required only by a patient. So, is the case of aspirant i.e., he who desires to grow spirituality, he is entitled, irrespective of the fact that he has committed sins earlier. In this connection, I would like to throw light on ‘Karmas’ (deeds) philosophy that according to Rigveda mantra 10/135/1, 2 every human being has
been blessed with a human body by God, based on his previous lives’ deeds- both pious deeds and sins, due to the same reason every person has to face the result of his previous lives’ deed in the shape of happiness and sorrows respectively. Vedas tell that if a person follows Vedic path he becomes able to destroy the hundred percent effect of his bad deeds and thus becomes able not to face any kind of sorrows, tensions etc. in this connection, I would also like to paste my article below:-

REVERT BACK TO VEDAS

It is the essence of Vedic spiritualism that whenever an aspirant enters into it then learned acharya preaches him that Vedas are the divine voice of God, which by the power of God, are originated in the heart of four Rishis, at the beginning of each creation. Learneds who indulge in deep study of Vedas know that Vedas are alive knowledge which emanate directly from God and hence they have not been written by anyone on the earth, in the shape of a book. Since, the said knowledge is applicable to all humans right from the beginning of earth hence Vedas are not sects.

Infact, Kapil Muni, after traditionally studying Vedas and realising the truth after hard practice of Ashtang Yog, also states the said truth in his Sankhya shastra sutra 5/51 that Vedas are alive knowledge hence ved mantras wield the power and self-capability to make such faithful aspirants, who are involved in deep and sincere study of Vedas, to understand the meaning and idea of ved mantras. This is the reason that Kapil Muni states that Vedas are self-proof to justify the truth. To elaborate, knowledge given in ved mantra or any fact stated through ved mantras does not require to be validated/authenticated by other shastras or any other book [but like our Rishi-Munis, Rajrishis
and their public used to study Vedas traditionally with faith and sincere efforts, process being the Vedic order of Almighty God, for all human-beings, the said practice is not in vogue at present
times].God knows when inhabitants of India would be able to adopt the said moral duties, entrusted by God, of studying and following the Vedas, which destroys all the effects of sorrows and makes our future bright with long life and also spreads international brotherhood along with other unlimited benefits.

Secondly, universe has been created about one Arab, ninety six crore, eight lakhs, fifty three thousand and one hundred and thirteen years ago.

So, logically, Vedas have also been created at this time-period. Rishi-Munis acquired Vedas’ knowledge by listening to Vedas traditionally from acharya and did agnihotra/yajyen, name jaap of God and Ashtang yog practice as preached in Vedas. In turn, they realised God and got the knowledge by doing pious deeds while leading the family life, making their future happy and bright, according to Vedas. Then they further educated people about the same because it has been
the benevolent nature of every learned person, who gains Vedic knowledge and experiences, divine pleasure, to share it with others. About five-six thousand years ago, Rishis wrote six shastras,
upnishads, Mahabharat (including Bhagwad Geeta) and Valmiki Ramayan much before all these books, based on the knowledge of Vedas. All these great writers – the Rishis, have eulogised Vedas in their literary works and based on their experience have admitted that Vedas are the divine voice of God.

That is why, Kapil Muni in his Sankhya shastra sutra 1/66 and Patanjali Rishi in his Yog shastra sutra 1/7 have shared their experience to educate us that the preach of any Rishi (Mantradrishta
Rishi) is also considered as a proof to reach at truth. And also the holy books written by the Rishis based on Vedic culture are also considered as proof called ‘Partah Pramann’, Vedas being Swatah
Pramann. Is it not our bad luck that the said secrets of Vedas are now mostly unknown to people and at this juncture, so called preach of any modern saint (sant who is against the Vedas) which does not tally with Vedic culture and which is definitely considered by learned of Vedas as totally false/unauthentic, is being accepted happily by the innocent public? If we consider impartially then we would find that the said matter is definitely harmful to the society, being against the Vedas because it does not come within the parameter of Vedic authenticity. Now, question is that who will bell the cat?

Duly indulged in illusion and mostly intention being after the materialistic articles etc., hardly anybody spares the time to study the literary works of Rishis like Upnishads, Shastras, Nighantu,
Ashtadhyayee, Shatpath Brahmin Granth and above quoted holy books which contain abundant proofs of ved mantras. Hence, when one will fail to study these great literary works of Rishis, under the guidance of learned acharya of Vedas. Then naturally anyone will cast doubt over the Vedas which implies non-awareness of Vedic knowledge. Nowadays, people study the so-called spiritual books written by ordinary people but not those written by Rishis. It shall not out of place to mention here that Atharvaveda mantra 7/105/1 preaches us to study Vedas or to study the spiritual books written by Rishi-Munis. The mantra strongly stresses not to study such books which are written by ordinary people. This secret has been made unknown to the public by several saints, that Vedas, Yajyen and yogabhyas are difficult and need not to be studied/performed. People do not know that God states to study Vedas and perform daily agnihotra/Yajyen, name jaap of God and practice of Ashtang yog under the expert guidance of learned acharya.

Due to ignorance of the same, people are not able to understand that they are doing sins by not obeying the God’s order of studying Vedas and doing yajyen etc. On the other hand, they are accepting the juicy lecture of saints, who are against the Vedas and who are mostly professional. Moreover, all the present sects along with their pious books have emerged about two thousand to two thousand and five hundred years ago. As compared to this, Vedas have been on this earth since
One Arab, ninety six crore, eight lakhs, fifty three thousand and one hundred and thirteen years ago. As mentioned above, Vedas are not a book. That is why, it has become difficult to repose faith in Vedas, in the absence of deep study under guidance of learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang Yog.

Yet, it is a well-known fact spread by the tapasvis, Rishis-Munis by their preach and above quoted spiritual books that Vedas are eternal and immortal knowledge which emanate directly from God. This fact is even supported by renowned scientists like Maxmuller and many others who believe in authenticity of Vedas. It is further a well-known fact that Vedas have been preserved in world libraries with respect and honour, accepting Vedas as first and the most ancient literature. I mean to say that Vedas are the first knowledge which came on the earth. It was spread orally through the tradition of acharya and disciple, right from the beginning of the earth, as mentioned above.

So, Vedas were remembered by heart by everyone. About five thousand three hundred years ago, for the first time, Vyas Muniji, who himself remembered the Vedas by heart traditionally, wrote them on Bhojpatra for the benefit of mankind. He completed the said pious task on the day of poornnima, about five thousand three hundred years ago. Since, then the poornnima has been named and remembered as Vyas Poornnima. Further, when printing press came into existence in sixteenth century, the Vedas written on Bhoj patra by Vyas Muniji were printed in the form of book which is called “Samhita” and not ved. Samhita means collection of ved mantras which has been printed. Half of the intellectuals of the world believe Vedas to be the divine voice of God and yet half of the intellectuals believe that Vedas have been written by some great scientist who has no parallel to himself in the entire world. But learned of Vedas know that God is the scientist of all scientists and no one is born even equivalent to such God nor shall be born in future. Then what to talk about being above the God. It is also pertinent to mention here that eighteen chapters of Bheeshma parv of Mahabharat have been secluded, named and printed as Bhagwad Geeta. Infact, Yogeshwar Sri Krishna Maharaj has praised and eulogised Vedas in Bhagwad Geeta. The above stated facts are known only to learned of Vedas. The saints who are ignorant of the knowledge of Vedas are naturally ignorant of the Vedas’ knowledge contained in Bhagwad Geeta and are therefore compelled not to explain the shloka of Bhagwad Geeta, briefly and truly wherein the reference and truth of Ved mantras exists. Why? Because they have not studied Vedas.

However, most of the present literary works and most of the saints are reiterating the fact that Vedas are divine voice of God. In this connection, Almighty, omnipresent, formless God has already stated in Atharvaveda mantra 12/5/40 that those who do not study Vedas but take a piecemeal (portion) of Ved mantras, only which suits them, by means of studying other books etc., or listening from anywhere else [not based on traditional study of Vedas] will be punished by me (God). Isn’t it surprising that yet no one is taking the initiative to study Vedas. On the contrary, those deeds which are against the Vedas and promote blind faith are being done on large scale. To experience the truth, we will have to revert back to Vedas.

If a person goes to learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang yoga philosophy and learns the same personally then in the beginning minimum period of ten days is required to learn and practice of
Ashtang yoga philosophy, Yajyen and Name jaap etc. But nowadays, it is observed that people are so busy in materialistic matters of world that they have no time to spare to learn and continue daily practice in homes, both times i.e., morning and evening. Every ved states that our birth in human life is only meant to follow Vedic path like Sri Ram, King Harishchandra, Dashrath, Rishi and Munis of ancient times but duly attracted towards the materialistic articles of the world (duly indulged in illusion) everybody has forgotten the secret of Vedas which are important to live long, happy life and get salvation, while discharging all moral duties towards family, society, nation and
humanity. You see, the said education is only obtained from Vedas under the guidance of learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang yog, failing which Rigveda mantra 10/114/8 , that countless births in
different species like that of animals, birds etc., are to be taken wherein the soul, experiences intolerable, grave sorrows, also says Yajurveda mantra 40/12.

Sabita: Namaskar, I would like to receive Vedas a divine light in english and sandhya book. Please let me know how much it cost for my postal add and I will be paying it by credit card.
Swami Ram Swarup: Books are being sent to you, please.

Anonymous: Swamiji, Sat Sat Pranam! Swamiji, your claim on Almighty Formless God and His full Form Lord Sada Shiva authenticated by Vedas are absolutely correct. Earlier your
answers confused me that is why I raised questions time and again! I ALWAYS WANTED YOU TO PROPAGATE RIGHT MESSAGE TO THE MASSES IN LARGE BECAUSE YOU ARE SITTING IN A VERY HOT SEAT. YOUR RIGHT IDEAS CAN CHANGE THE DESTINY OF MANY BECAUSE YOU SHALL ALWAYS FOLLOW THE PATH OF TRUTH AND THIS IS THE ONLY TRUTH WHICH IS NOT KNOWN TO MANY SEERS AND FOLLOWERS. I HAD ENCOUNTERED WITH LORD SADA SHIVA NOT PHYSICALLY BUT HE PREACHES ME WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO. IT IS DUE TO MY EXTENSIVE STUDY OF MANY WRITTEN TEXTS BY GREAT SEERS WHO WAS THE MASTER OF ALL VEDAS. THAT IS WHY 100% TRUTH IS IN FRONT OF ME, THROUGH HOLY TEXTS AND PERSONAL TEACHINGS OF MY LORD TO ME. Swami ji, my next question is how to liberate our soul? What is the mechanism by which we can liberate ourselves? Hope you shall enlighten me on this whenever you get time to answer. Thanks and best
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.

In the universe, three matters are eternal and everlasting. Though the eternal knowledge of Vedas which is 4th matter is also eternal and everlasting because the same always remains in God and emanates directly from Almighty God in the beginning of each creation. As per the fundamental and unchangeable law of Almighty God preached in Vedas, the aspirant who desires to realize God/strives to attain salvation, has to know the above quoted three eternal matters following the Vedas’ teachings practically, in which three educations are important. That is, worldly science/matters (Gyan kand from Rigveda), form of deeds-pious or sins and to follow only pious deeds from Yajurveda (Karma kand) and listening of Vedas and doing eternal and everlasting worship (Upasana Kand from Samveda) of Formless God in which daily Yajyen/hawan with ved mantras, name jaap of God OM, practice of Ashtang yoga Philosophy under guidance of learned acharya is performed. The said worship is continued while discharging all moral duties towards family, society and nation until asceticism is achieved, there are two types of asceticism vide Patanjal Yog shastra sutra 1/15,16 description of which is appended below:-

Drishtanu shravik Vishyavitrishnsya Vashikaarsangya Vairaagyam (1/15)

(Drisht) already saw (Aanushravik) already heard (Vishya) scene/incidents/matters (vitrishnsya) without attachment/desires (vashikaarsangya) this controlled stage of Chitta (vairaagyam) is
Asceticism.

The above sutra concludes that whatever we have seen or heard through the organs of eyes, ears, etc. about the materialistic articles has been determined through organs of eyes, ears, mind etc. These are called the seen/experienced articles or experienced matters.

But, as said in the sutra regarding the “Aanushravik Vishya”, this knowledge cannot be got without listening the preach from Rishi/Muni/Yogi/true saints or without studying Vedas/shastras/holy
books through a spiritual master. This Aanushravik subject-matter pertains to the knowledge of future birth, final liberation, realization of permanent merriment beyond the pleasure experienced
from organs regarding materialistic world, and perfect judgement of supernatural powers. These all are gained through the long practice of the authentic spiritual path, including practice of Ashtang Yoga. The materialistic activities and experience thereof by general human being and even by Rishi/Muni/Yogis also come in “Aanushravik Vishya” i.e. already seen and experienced worldly affairs both are neglected and become undesirous and even do not come under consideration in life
again, then only this type of stage of Chitta is controlled asceticism – because at this stage an aspirant has controlled his worldly desires and the remembrance of all previous life, happenings, etc. It is very much clear that normally when we sit on meditation for worship, etc. then our Chitta starts remembering all the previous lives’ good or bad happenings.

But, more often, today’s saints say to sit on meditation and reciting Holy name of God. On the contrary, the traditional knowledge of yoga philosophy preached in the most ancient Vedas do not accept it. As briefed above, this traditional knowledge says about the determination of the authentic path first, and then to follow the same by its practice. Secondly, through the preach of Rishis/Munis/Vedas/shastras etc. an aspirant must remember that the whole world is destructible
and both by practising yoga philosophy and listening preach as briefed above when he becomes a true ascetic then only the fruitful result is obtained.

Tata Parmam Purushkhya Ter Gun Vaitrishnayam (1/16)

(Tata) that (Param) is the highest asceticism which comes (Purushkhyatehe) after realizing the knowledge of God and the aspirant (Gunvaitrishnayam) becomes un-desirous of the qualities of Prakriti.

Meaning: When the aspirant becomes ascetic, mentioned in the sutra 1/15 and practises Ashtang Yoga, studies holy books like Ved, shastras, does auspicious deeds with full faith and without
disturbances and break, then he gets the full knowledge about the Almighty God. Due to this effect of realizing Almighty God, he is detached with the qualities of Prakriti (i.e. Rajo, Tamo, Sato
qualities). In the Yoga Shastra, this is called Parvairagya i.e. the highest stage of asceticism. Here a story of Mahabharat is quoted:

There was a king named Nahush. Once he prayed to Rishi Chayvan to pay him visit to his palace. The king served the Rishi at his level best but still the king could not make the Rishi happy. Even once the Rishi Chayvan left the palace without telling anybody else, for his Ashram. In the morning when the king and the queen came to know about the Rishi, they both followed the path to the Rishi’s Ashram. After a long distance they saw a very beautiful palace, with all assets and all
materialistic merriment, including sensuality, etc. For a second, king and queen were astonished but after looking at every article of the palace and leaving it, they reached Rishi Chayvan’s Ashram. They bowed on the feet of Rishi and prayed to him to become happy with them and to shower his blessings.

When the Rishi pleased and showered blessings on them, then in a pleasant mood, the queen requested with folded hands to Rishi to tell about the enchanted palace in the jungle. Chayvan Rishi smiled and told that the enchanted palace was made by him with Yogic illusion for the king and his queen. Chayvan Rishi further added that he (Chavyan Rishi) thought that both, the king and his queen, will become entangled in the illusion of materialistic attractive articles and thus king and queen will be ruined. But Chayvan Rishi was surprised that neither king nor queen was entangled with the enchanted palace.

After all, Rishi had to bless king and the queen both. King requested the Rishi to elevate his family from Kshatriya to Brahmin kul. But in return the Rishi blessed that the king and his son will not be
Brahmins, but his grandson will first become Rajrishi and thereafter he will be turned as a Brahmin. And everybody knows that Rishi Vishwamitra was born in Kshatriya family and was a king. After
sometime, he left for jungle, did the highest Ashtang Yoga practice, studied Vedas and became a Rishi. So, this all was possible only due to asceticism of Rishi Vishwamitra’s forefathers. Here Vyas Muni comments on this sutra are that whatever we see or hear if we feel the faults/sins/damage about listening and hearing then we will be an ascetic. Actually what happens that the scene we see, and the talk we listen, gives us enjoyment of materialistic world and we always are indulged through eye, ear, skin, nose and tongue to see, listen, feel, smell and taste about the worldly affairs. Due to lack of Vedic preach or practice of Yoga philosophy, we do not realize the bad effects of
all these listening and hearing and that is why we do not leave it. Instead we are indulged more and more in worldly affairs.

We must concentrate on the said great point of Vyas Muni that he is an ascetic who sees fault/sins in listening and hearing on the materialistic subjects. Nowadays, cinema, TV, backbiting, etc. are the
most dangerous activities, which are mostly based in worldly attraction. So, one should carefully listen and hear the matter of faith, truth, Vedas, shastras, Holy Books and even one should seek
good or bad from the same. Until and unless we do not continue practising Ashtang Yoga and authentic worship of God including listening of Vedas, Holy Books, etc. then it will be very difficult to determine that what is wrong and what is good. Even to realize the effect of shastra’s preach is very difficult to understand. In this utra also an ascetic has been warned not to plan for pleasure even of the final liberation and enjoyment, whatever our ancient Rishis/Munis had gained and what to talk about materialistic merriment. So, will have to realize that even listening to the cassette of religious songs or stories, to define religion, will not meet with success in the matter of truth/worship/control of organs/to continue Ashtang Yoga etc.

It will give us only timely pleasure of listening by ears. So the matter of faith/religion/yoga philosophy is deep and vast, and requires study of Vedas/shastras and continuous practice of Vedas/shastras and continuous practice of Yoga philosophy under the supervision of an experienced, Yogi who knows all the said system. When the aspirant is able to realize the fault about listening and hearing, as mentioned above, then he becomes a real ascetic and this is the stage of a Purified Chitta. Thus the practice of realizing Almighty God makes the ascetic able to detach himself from the effect of qualities of Prakriti (Rajo, Tamo & Sato Gun) and thus the soul attains Par-vairaagya (the highest stage of asceticism). The soul who has attained the said highest stage of asceticism is only capable to attain the final liberation.

When asceticism is achieved then hard worship starts especially hard practice of Ashtang Yoga i.e., to get perfection in eight parts of shtang Yoga mentioned below under the guidance of learned acharya of Vedas and Yog. Yajurveda mantra 7/4 states-

“UPYAAM GRIHITAHA ASI MAGHAVAN…”
Oh! Men, you are like an aspirant who gets Yam (i.e., eight parts of Ashtang Yog- Yam, Niyam, Asan, Prannayam, Pratyahar, Dharnna, Dhyan, Samadhi.) (YACHCH) therefore try to stop and release (ANTAHA) the internal breathing i.e., do prannayam.

Brief of this mantra has been given by Rishi Patanjali in his Yog Shastra sutra 2/29 as under-

YAMNIYAMASAN PRANNAYAMPRATYAHARDHARNNADHYAN SAMADHYOASHTAVAGANI

i.e., Ashtang Yog has its eight parts-
Yam, Niyam, Asan, Prannayam, Pratyahar, Dharnna, Dhyan, Samadhi. That is why, I advised you to read my book Patanjal Yog Darshan Part I and Part II to get immense knowledge of Ashtang Yog which also emanates from Vedas and Vedas emanates from God. So, Vedas and Ashtang Yog are not different from each other. So, when we happen to know and practise Ashtang Yog and perform Yajyen and listen to Vedas practically, this in turn enables us to realize God then where would
mere bookish knowledge stand?

When, an ascetic continues his above quoted worship faithfully, then as per Yog shastra sutra 4/29, 30, 31 he attains “Dharma Megh Samadhi” and accordingly he attains salvation. Bookish knowledge is only a literal knowledge which as per Yajurveda mantra 40/12 generates pride,
ego and other vices/shortcomings and which are always harmful. In this connection, to open the eyes of only aspirants (i.e., who desire to attain salvation) you see, what a beautiful preach has been delivered by God Himself in Rigveda mantra 1/164/39 stating……..

RICHO AKSHRE PARME VYOMANYASMINDEVA ADHI VISHVE NISHEDUHU.
YASTANNA VED KIMRICHA KARISHYATI YA ITTADVIDURATA IME SAMASATE.

Space is not holding any matter of the universe but as stated in Yajurveda mantra 32/6 and Rigveda mandal 10, sukta 129, the Almighty God creates and enters every matter of the universe and holds it. In Rigveda mantra 1/164/39, it is also stated “Akshray” immortal, “Parmey” most supreme, “Vyoman” Omnipresent in the space, i.e., Almighty God is immortal and is Omnipresent in the space. Hence, inference drawn is that space is separate and God is separate. Again, in the said mantra, it is stated “Vishwe” all “Devaha” Dev i.e., earth, sun, other planets, space etc. “Adhi Nisheduhu” is held by God.

Again, mantra states “Yeh Tat Na Ved” he who does not know about the said God “Richa Kim karishyati” then what mere study of Vedas would do for him? I mean to say, i.e., mere study of Vedas –(bookish knowledge) will be of no use and would go in vain then what to talk about only
study of other granths. Again, the said mantra clarifies “Yeh” those who “Viduhu” know “Tat” the said God “Tey” they only “Emmey It” within the God “Samasatey” establish themselves in the God
i.e., they only realize God and attain salvation.

The moral of discussion is that when Vedas tell “Yajyam Kuru” i.e., perform Yajyen so we should sincerely perform Yajyen. Yajurveda mantra 1/1 states Oh God!, (Vayevastha) may our senses, perceptions, mind and intellect (Shreshthtamaye karmanna Prarpayatu) meaning of shreshthtamam karmaha stated in Shatpath Brahmin Granth by Yagyavalkya Muni is that most supreme, pious deed is Yajyen. The meaning of Prapayatu in Hindi is prapt ho jayein and in English, it is that we
may attain.

So, the complete meaning will be that Oh God! May our senses, perceptions, mind and intellect be connected to perform the most, supreme pious deed Yajyen.

Note:- If anyone would see the writing way of ancient and present Rishi-munis , he would observe that they always give proof of ved mantras to justify their statements whereas the present so called
saints, who are against the Vedas would write book or deliver preach but would never give proof of Vedas in support of their writing or preaching.

You see, all Rishi-Munis first listened/studied Vedas, then attained knowledge, thereafter only, they became able to write Shastras, Upnishads, Mahabharat (Bhagwad Geeta etc.). Had God not given Vedas’ knowledge to four Rishis and the four Rishis had not spread it further then in the absence of knowledge, no one could become Rishi-Munis etc. and hence could not write any Shastras etc. So, based on Vedic knowledge, Vyas muniji wrote Vedanta Shastra and Mahabharat. In Mahabharat (shanti parv) beautiful preach has been uttered by Bheeshma pitamah ji to Yudhishthir that – Oh Yudhishthir!

“Dwe Brahmannee Veditavye Shabdabrahma Param cha yat,
Shabdabrahmanni Nishnnatah Param Brahmadhigachhati”

Meaning:- Two forms of God i.e., Shabda Brahma and Par Brahma should be understood (here Shabda Brahma means ved and ParBrahma means realization of God) further Bheeshma Pitamah states in shloka that he who has got perfection in Shabda Brahma(literal knowledge of Vedas) he
only realizes God.

So, he who gets perfection in Shabda Brahma i.e., literal knowledge of Vedas and practises it, he only realizes Almighty God and accordingly attains salvation otherwise in other preaching of Vanparv of Mahabharat Vyas muniji has preached :-

(i.) “Pathkaha Paathkashchaiv ye chanye shastra chintkaha,
Sarve vyasanino moorkha yaha kriyavaan sa panditaha”
Meaning: – Those who teach the Vedas and who study the Vedas and even think/reflect give consideration over them, they all are vicious and ignorant. Those only are learned who adopt the teachings thereof and discharge their duties accordingly.

(ii.) “Chaturvedoapi durvrittaha sa shudrdatirichyate,
Yoagnihotraparo daantaha sa brahmaniti smritaha”
Meaning:- He who has studied Vedas but is still wicked he is the most vicious person.

He is only the learned who performs daily agnihotra/ yajyen with ved mantras and has got command over senses and mind (mann) and intellect (buddhi).

Manusmriti shloka 2/168 states :-
“Yoandheetya Dwijo Vedamunyatra Kurutey Shramam,
Sa jeevanneiv shudratvamaashu gachhati Saanvayaha.

(Yaha Dwijaha) the so called Brahmin Guru or any person (Vedam Anadhitya) who never listens/studies Vedas (Anyatra shramam kurutey) but does hard labour to study other Shastras etc., (saha) he (Jeevanneiv) while being alive (Saanvayaha) with his family (shudratvam gachhati) gets lower, degraded stage.

Idea:-
He who does not listens/studies Vedas but does labour in other way, he with his family gets lower, degraded stage.

If we honestly become aspirant (have sincere desire to realize God/Truth) then we will sure realize about the several so-called saints of present times that how they ignore the above teachings of
Vedas-Shastras and those of Rishi-Munis and naturally delivering the falsehood, being against the Vedas, become famous saints while gathering huge amounts of money, which seems to be their main motto. Here, we must realize that the above quoted so-called saints do labour only to study the books and to remember the lecture of forty five minutes or one hour or more duration, by heart which they deliver in front of public and get popularity and wealth from the ignorant public.

So, in short those aspirants who follow above quoted Vedic path which was adopted by all our present and ancient Rishi-Munis like Vyas, Atri, Kapil, Vashishth etc., Rajrishis (Harishchandra, Dashrath, Manu, Yayati etc.) and their public, they attain salvation/become liberated souls.
