Dhanyvaad.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Thank you , my son. Vedon mein mool roop se sab vishaya kee jaankari hai. Iska arth yeh hota hai ki jo-jo shubh karma hain unkee jaankari hai aur jo- jo paap karma hain, unkee bhi jaankari hai. Ab jaise, pati-patni ka relation hai aur ussey santaan utpatti karna punnya kaha gaya hai. Ab iska ulta koi karya hoga, weh paap hoga. Jaise, doosron kee patni se sampark karna paap hoga athwa same gender relationship paap hoga, itiyadi. Atah is janam athwa pichhle janam se iska koi concern nahi hai. Kyunki yeh paap hai. Jis subject ka vedon mein varnnan nahi hai, weh ved-virudh hai. Mera tumhein ashirwad. Kewal pati- patni ka rrelation hee punnya maana gaya hai aur shadi se pehle opposite sex ek doosre ko dil na de, iska bhi updesh kiya gaya hai.
Jegan: Namaste. I heard that karna was born through the mystical union of kunti and sun god. But this is against the vedas. Please clarify me on this matter.
Swami Ram Swarup: In this regard, I paste my article as under-
ON LADIES
According to Vedas remarriage is not permitted for a widow. In this connection please refer Rigveda mantra 10/40/2.
The lady if is capable to maintain brahamcharya then only the problem ends otherwise property dispute, destruction of morality which requires to maintain pativrat dharma takes place. Yet if a widow is interested to get children then Rigveda mantra 10/85/45 allows her to get child by adopting niyog from widower or married person. But in my view procedure for a widow to get child will not be fruitful in these days where the eternal knowledge of four Vedas is not being adopted in life.
The said procedure was in practice during the previous three yugas. For example- after the death of their husbands, Ambika, and Ambalika got children. They were all maintaining brahamcharya and adopting eternal knowledge and moral duties of Vedas, they knew that as soon as the widow gets pregnancy the relationship has to be broken forever and the child would get the name of his deceased father and not the present father. So I never recommend the said law/principle in these days because the people are almost away from eternal knowledge of Vedas and mostly the people are against Vedas and thus mostly the religious places have been made professional and place of sins.
So it is better if the widow maintains her brahamcharya. Otherwise, in Yajurveda mantra 7/48 it is clearly mentioned that every human being is free to do pious deeds according to Vedas or sins against the Vedas but result is awarded by Almighty God in the shape of happiness and sorrows/grief respectively. So everyone is free to do whatever he wants.
There is a great difference between marriage and above quoted relation of Niyog. In marriage, the girl/bride has to leave her father’s home and she does not further maintain her relation with her parents. The girl then forever remains in her husband’s house.
In niyog, widow gets her children through niyog but remains always in her husband’s house, who has gone to heavenly abode.
The rules made in Vedas do not break the justice. So, to apply the procedure of Niyog, the pativrat dharma is not damaged, if the rules of Vedas are fully obeyed. I mean to say, the woman and man were selected by the elders and with the consent of both man and woman, they must be well educated in the knowledge of Vedas, brahamcharya etc. They, would have been following the performance of daily hawan, Ashtang Yoga Practice, name jaap, they must have full control on their five senses, perceptions and mind. When the lady becomes pregnant, both should cut their physical relation immediately forever and the lady must reside in her husband’s house like Amba, Ambalika, Kunti. Newly born baby should be given the name of the father who is husband of the lady etc. This procedure is adopted with the concurrence of all family members, elders, society not alone. So, at present I never see such widow or her family and so called selected man who have been following strict path of the Vedas.
Amba, Ambalika were learned ladies and the children were got by them from Vyas muniji who was renounced Ved mantra drishta Rishi and Yogi. He has written Mahabharat (Bhagwad Geeta) and Vedant Shastra.
Kunti who was also a vidushi got children from a Rishi/Yogi named Surya dev, Dharam Raj, Indra Dev etc. Now, from where such Yogis and such Vidushi women will be made available? So, due to the lack of knowledge of Vedas, such procedure is totally not applicable nowadays because mostly the people now see the lady for sexual enjoyment etc., only which is a sin and vice-versa.
