Please also let me know if any thing regarding SPIRITUAL HEALING is mentioned in the Vedas. Thanking you.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. The shlokas quoted by you are not mentioned in vedas, please but have been made by men/gurus. Spiritual healing matter is not seen in Vedas.

Madan: Swamiji charan sparsh, thanks for your advise and blessings you are given to the divotees. I want to know whether sehwas is permissible according to Vedas in upwas, navratras and sharads.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. You are welcome, please. In Upwas, Sehwas is strictly prohibited. In navratras it is at the discretion of the individual, i.e., in navratras if he has adopted religious task then he should avoid. As regards shradh, it is not mentioned in Vedas, I also paste my article on shradh.

Anna Daan/Shradh to departed soul
Vedas are eternal knowledge which emanate direct from God at the beginning of every universe. Being the knowledge direct from God, each statement of Ved mantra is also eternal truth.

Thirty-ninth chapter of Yajurveda states about death. The soul when leaves the human body remains under control of a divine air named “Sutratma vayu”. Mantras tell that after wandering unconsciously for thirteen days in the space and planets like Sun, moon, etc., soul comes again on this earth inside the vegetation. Then either the soul enters the male living being’s body according to pious deeds and sins through pores or is duly mixed within vegetation and taken by a male person. Then the soul takes rebirth through parents.

This process is an eternal truth. However, if soul is religious and has done hard Tapasya then the soul gets salvation. Only soul has to face the result of previous lives’ deeds through living being’s body. Since soul is alive whereas body is non-alive matter. So body does not face the result of deeds. When soul has gone out of body then how the soul will see, hear, taste, smell or touch or will be benefited of any pious deed etc.? Therefore Vedas do not tell about the present system of shradh etc.

However, the pious deeds done to remember the departed soul by means of devotion or organizing the holy Yajyen with Ved mantras, its result never goes in vain and the family is benefited.
Departed soul never meets again please. Even departed soul, when take rebirth, forgets every event of his previous life. As regards dreams Atharvaveda states that dreams of departed soul are not good so it is in your interest and welfare that you do not see dreams.

Shradh

The alive parents are to be served faithfully. Everybody knows that a person who is alive takes food, water, puts on clothes etc. After death body is burnt. Now how the parents will be able to take food. They according to the karmas get next birth too. So shradh is against the Vedas’ philosophy.

SHRADH
At the time of death, the soul comes out of the body and when a person is dead, his body is burnt on pyre. When soul resides in human body, person uses his mouth to eat, ear to listen, eye to see, hand to work, legs to move etc. Now the body has been burnt and the soul remains alone. Alone soul can do nothing but remains in the stage of Sushupt i.e., like in coma. Then after thirteen days, the soul takes rebirth. So how the dead person would eat the food which is made for him during Shradh. So Shradh is not mentioned in Vedas. Vedic meaning of Shradh is to serve the alive parents and elders by providing them with food, bedding and necessary goods etc., faithfully and lovingly.

Bipin Badheka:Pranam, Swamiji.Swamiji, it is mentioned in your answers/books that as per Vedas from creation/recreation, number of souls are constant but countless. Now if we take horse, cow, cat, crow, fly etc. then there are how many no. of such animals/birds/insect etc.(such diffrenet type of yoni) in total? Whether it is mentioned in Vedas. We have heard that after taking birth in 84 lac yonis, human birth is received. So swamiji what is the fact? Whether all souls have to pass through all types of animals/birds/insects? If person dies and soul takes re-birth in pashu yoni i.e. as animal etc. then after how many such rebirths again it will get human body as per Vedas. Whether all present animals, insects etc. on earth were once human being in past. Request you to please guide us on this subject.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yonis are of four types mainly- Undaj, Jarayuj, Swedaj and Udbhij.

Rebirth and different yonis

Idea of Yajurveda mantra 39/6 is that after leaving the human body, the soul goes to several matters in the space etc., and then according to good or bad deeds takes next birth. Yajurved mantra 39/7 states that those souls who do sins they take birth with violent nature like wolves, bear and those who give fear to others in human body, they take birth in body with dangerous nature like crocodiles, poisonous snakes, tigers, lions, wild boars etc., those who give fear to others, they will be of timid nature also like rabbits, deer etc. Those who give justice and make others fearless, they will take next birth in a fearless nature. Those who are indulged in illusion, they will take birth in a place where the atmosphere will be full of illusion (Yajurveda mantra 40/3 also refers).

Those who are learned Yogis but are not yet attained salvation, they will take next birth in a place where there will not be any illusion but divine enlightenment. Those who have not controlled their five senses, five perceptions and mind then in the next birth they will be of restless nature. But those who have controlled their senses etc., will be of calm, peaceful nature. Those who have followed eternal knowledge, they will also be of peaceful nature in the next birth.

Atharvaveda mantra 9/10/16 states that those who are not learned in this birth, they will get the birth as “sthavar” rooted plants etc., as birds and as animals etc., and those who are learned they take next birth as rishi-munis. So the soul based on his sins or pious deeds takes birth in upper class or lower class. The above said Atharvaveda mantra also states that the soul in the human body knows each and everything that is each outer matter of the world but due to involvement in illusion, soul does not know himself.

As Manusmriti states in shlok 1/43-46 the soul according to deeds takes birth as animal, non-violent deer etc., carnivores like tiger, leopards etc., devils, human beings. The said are of “jarayuj” type i.e., those who take birth from their skin i.e., tissue. Soul takes birth as “undaj” type i.e., those who hatch from eggs like birds, snakes, crocodiles, fish, tortoise, etc. Soul takes birth in “Swedaj” type i.e., those who take birth from sweat, humidity, moisture, for-example, lice, mosquitoes, flies, bed-bugs, etc.

Soul also takes birth in Udbhij i.e., who takes birth from within the earth like plants who emerge from seeds etc., and are stable at one place like trees etc. So there are four above quoted main origin (yonis) of which the total number comes as 84 lakhs.

As regards counting, this matter is only dealt with by Almighty God, please.
Human birth is received when the total number of sins and pious deeds are equalized.

The present life’s deeds are to be faced in the next BIRTHS and not next birth.
In bhog yoni, deeds (present deeds) done do not accrue result. (No karmaphal created). So, birth apart from that of human-beings does not face any karma in next birth but such soul has to face the result of his previous lives’ deeds only because one birth is not sufficient to face the result of all deeds. the animal/birds’ yoni etc., is awarded by God till the time pious deeds and sins become equal in number and when it becomes so, then human-beings body is awarded . So, in animal, bird’s yoni, the result of deeds is to be faced to minimize the deed because when a deed is faced, it gets over.

Souls in animal and bird’s yoni is not authorized to listen or know about God that is why, it is called only bhog yoni.

Whether all souls would pass through all types of animals/birds/insects yoni, it depends on equalization of good and bad deeds.

Yes, it is possible that all the present animals, insects etc., on earth were once or twice etc., human beings in past.
