MCG: Pranam Swamiji, How can one know that he/she is growing spiritually and sins (previous and present)are destroying by worshipping God and gaining knowledge of Vedas? Thanks

When an aspirant faithfully , firmly and with intention to realize God follows the Vedic path under guidance of an learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga then the aspirant starts tapasya i.e., daily name jaap of God, hawan/Yajyen, Ashtang Yoga practice and listening of Vedas and following its preach in life. Then one day he becomes ascetic and experiences divine pleasure within him, which are the signs of growing spiritually and sins being destroyed by worship of God.

Jo brahm ka gyan hai vahi sabse anand karne wala aur us yogi ki usme ruchi ka badhane wala hai. Jis gyan ko vidvan log anya manushyon ke aage transfer kar dete hai. Jo is prakar se brahm ko janta hai usi ki man adi indriya sanyam me ho jati hai anya ki nahi. Swami ji uper likhe mantra se siddh hota hai ki kewal unko hi vairagya hota hai jinko brahm ka gyan hota hai. Anya ko nahi. Kya main sahi hun swami ji?
Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji. Mahabharat Granth ke shantiparv mein Bheeshma Pitamah Raja Yudhishthir ko keh rahe hain ki Braham shabd ke do bhaav hain ek shabd brahma , ek Par Braham. Shabd Braham ka arth hai ved mantra aur par Braham ka arth hai Nirakar Sachchidanand Parmeshwar. Jo manushay shabda Brahma (vedadhyayan) mein parangat hai weh hee Par Brahma ko prapt kar leta hai. Isee ko Braham ka gyan kehte hain aur jo is gyan ko Ashtang yog sadhna dwara prapt kar leta hai woh hee toh vairagyawaan hai usee kee toh indriyaan sanyam mein hain anya kee nahin arthat jo kewal pad-sunkar Ishwar Ka vyakhyaan, pravachan karte hain weh toh Kenopnishad shloka 4/8 ke anusaar Brahamvidya ka niradar hee karte hain.

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Satya toh kewal Brahma hee hai. kyunki satya ka arth hai jo pehle bhee bhootkaal mein tha, vartmaan mein hai aur bhavishya mein bhee sadaa rahega. Bhagwad Geeta shloka 2/16 ke anusaar jiska kabhi abhaav nahin hota, weh tatva satya hai. Ishwar se utpann ved bhee satya hain.

Is ved roopee satya vidya mein hee sachchi deeksha kee paribhasha evam uska mahatva samajhaya gaya hai, anya kahin nahin. Jaise Yajurveda mantra 19/30 mein kaha (Vratein) satya bhashann aadi niyam se (deeksham) brahamcharya, vidya aadi, sushiksha aur uttam buddhi ko (aapnoti) prapt karta hai. Atah deeksha ka yahaan arth hai brahamcharya dharann karke Guru ke ashram mein Charon vedon mein kahee gyan, karma evam upasana, in teen prakaar kee vidya aur sushiksha ko
prapt karke, arthat jeevan mein dharann karke uttam buddhi ko prapt karna.

Atharvaveda mantra 19/43/1 mein kahaa ki deeksha arthat niyam aur vrat arthat brahamcharya shraddha aadi vrat kee shiksha aur tap dwara brahamgyani arthat Ishwar aur Ved ke jaanne wale vidwan Braham ko arthat braham ke sukh ko prapt karte hain. Atah deeksha ka bhaav yahi hai ki jab manushya brahamchaya aadi tatha satya bhashann aadi niyam dharann karta hai tab weh us brahamcharya aur satya bhashann aadi niyam ke bal par (deekshaam aapnoti ) arthat deeksha ko prapt hota hai. Arthat brahamcharya ka paalan ved vidya, sushiksha aur sanyam niyam ke palan dwara uttam buddhi ko dharann karna hee deeksha hai. Jab jeevan mein brahamcharya ka palan nahi hai aur brahamcharya ke dwara vedadhayayan aur vedon mein kahi shikshayein jeevan mein dharann nahin hain, yogabhyaas nahin hai, Yajyen aur mata – pita guru kee sewa nahin hai, satya bolna, mann mein satya dharann karna aur vedanusaar kewal satya karma hee karna aadi gunn nahin hain to weh deeksha ko prapt hua nahin kaha jaayega. Deeksha upar kahe gunno ko jeevan mein
dharann karna hee hai. aaj log kehte hain ki hamne guru se deeksha prapt kar lee parantu hamein upar kahe ved mantron ke adhaar par vichar karna hai ki kya hamne upar kahee sari shikshhayein jeevan mein dharann kar lee. Kyunki yahi to deeksha hai. In this connection , I also paste my article:-

Business of Diksha

If Sun in the shape of knowledge of four Vedas does not rise i.e., Vedas if are not studied from acharya naturally the darkness/illusion will engulf the public and any kind of worship etc., (self-made) can be spread among the public and innocent public shall follow the same since they are not enlightened by the sun of knowledge of Vedas.

Every subject has been briefed in Vedas. Therefore I tell you about Deeksha. Yajurveda mantra 19/30 states “VRATEIN DEEKSHAMAAPNOTI, DEEKSHYA AAPNOTI DAKSHINNAM. For answers to several questions including Deeksha, I would advise you to please study my book “VEDAS- A DIVINE LIGHT”.

Now a days mostly the saints and the people are not studying the eternal knowledge of God given in the shape of our Vedas. It has resulted to spread false meanings of divine Vedic words/mantras. So is the case of Divine word, “DEEKSHA”. Mostly everybody says that if name of God, whatever it may be (i.e., may be against the Vedas), is told by any Guru to his disciple then it means the disciple has been given DEEKSHA, which is actually against the Vedas. Now let’s see the Yajurveda mantra 19/30, “VRATEN DEEKSHAAM AAPNOTI”, VRATEN = to adopt Brahamcharya and true speech etc., DEEKSHAAM = Brahamcharya, the education/knowledge from Vedas, good education, AAPNOTI = are obtained.

So the meaning of DEEKSHA is clear that DEEKSHA is obtained by adopting Brahamcharya and observing truth, by speech, listening, holding in heart, etc. DEEKSHA i.e., the education of Brahamcharya and knowledge from Vedas/yoga philosophy etc., is obtained from an Acharya
(learned of Vedas) by following the path of VRAT (VRATEN), i.e., to adopt Brahmacharya and true speech etc., as mentioned above Atharvaveda mantra 19/43/1 also throws light on the pious word DEEKSHA as under-: DEEKSHA = to observe Vedic rules, Brahmacharya, good education. The idea of whole mantra is O God! Please take ME TO THE PIOUS Place Where Yogi, who has realized God and knows Vedas philosophy, resides, adopting DEEKSHA (as stated above) and TAPSA SAH = along with Tap, i.e., study of Vedas, control on five perceptions, five sense organs, and mind.

Idea: if an aspirant will reach the above quoted place of a Yogi/brahamgyani, definitely he will realize God and get salvation. When people will be able to understand the said truth of the immortal
Vedas then automatically they shall be beware of false prophets. The problem is only that the Bharatvarsh who was VISHWAGURU on the basis of Vedic culture, has lost the knowledge of Vedas and hence illusion.

Deeksha was given by ancient Rishi-munis and is still given at present after performing Holy Yajyen from Ved mantras being tradition of Vedas. Now, mostly the saints are not aware of Vedas and have made their own ways for Deeksha etc. It did not involve money matters.

Secondly, Atharvaveda mantra 7/2/1 states that Deeksha or pravachan should be given by a Rishi who is a philosopher of Vedas and Yoga knowledge, which is often not seen nowadays.

So everyone cannot give Deeksha, as per eternal knowledge of Vedas which emanates direct from God. It is not a profession. Please also see the article on Gurus.
