Bipin: Pranam Swamiji. I have been reading books sent by you. I thank you and really grateful to you for this. As explained by you, in Vedas there is no mention of Astrology anywhere. However, in your book Yagna Karm-Sarwashreshth Ishwar Puja on page no. 33 it is mentioned that Muni Narad said that he had knowledge of Jyotish Shastra. So this seems contradictory. So, swamiji, we request to please explain this to have clarity.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. I always state that “present astrology” regarding palmistry etc., is not mentioned in Vedas. The astrology mentioned in Vedas is regarding secret of planets including earth etc., celestial bodies emitting light, stars etc. Present science also agrees for the same. I mean to say, Vedas’ knowledge is always scientific whereas present astrology does not tally either with Vedas or with science.

Anonymous: It is explained by you to chant Gayatri Mantra both times daily. Whether this jaap shall be done by heart or orally. Further please suggest while doing havan, Gayatri mantra shall be chant by heart or orally. Actually, I know few members of who are doing Gayarti yagna on every Sunday/holidays at different homes of Mumbai as part of Gayatri Parivar which was founded by late Shree Ram Sharma Acharya of Shanti Kunj, Haridwar. In Havan, Gayatri Mantra is chant by them orally in mass. However, Swamiji I want your guidance in this. Please advice.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. When holy Yajyen/havan is organized then Gayatri mantra or other Ved mantras are chanted orally and aahutis are offered. But when an aspirant sits on asan in a lonely place or in a secluded room then the aspirant meditates while concentrating between two eyebrows (the point is called agya chakra) and Gayatri mantra or holy name of God i.e., Om is chanted by heart along with its meaning, with closed eyes. I would advise you to do both the pious deeds i.e., havan as well as meditation with Gayatri mantra.
