H: I have huge respect for Vedas. I want to ask I am a Punjabi . Do Vedas allow particular community to protect their race. Like our community have been protecting our race by marrying only among people of Punjab or Haryana as we all belong to same race. If we marry South Indian we might loose our facial features, our bravery. Do Hinduism support this. I do not believe in caste but believe in race. I believe every community should protect their race.
Swami Ram Swarup: In vedas, it is mentioned that God has created the world. He has not created community, sects etc., but human-beings. Vide Yajurveda mantra 31/11, God has preached about varnnas like Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Shudra. The said qualities are decided based on their divine qualities but not by birth. For example- He is Brahmin, who after studying vedas, doing hard practice of Ashtang Yog and after attaining Samadhi has realized God. He is Kshatriya.
In this connection Yajurved mantra 31/11 also says that he who knows Vedas and God, he is Brahmin being most supreme in the world like a mouth in the body. So anyone (of any caste) can be a Brahmin by hard studies of Vedas, practising Ashtang yoga therein and thus realizing God. One who has physical power in his arms, he is Kashtriye-Rajput to protect the country. So anyone can be a Rajput, holding the said qualities. One who has powers in his thighs to travel and to do hard work to establish business, he is Vaishya (businessman). One who has not studied, based on his qualities that he could not gain the qualities of Brahmin, Kashtriye and Vaishya, he is shudra (may be of any caste).

Swami Ram Swarup: Ashirwad, Vinod beta. Aise prashan yahaan ved mandir mein aakar swayum kiye jaate hain, internet par aise sawaal nahi kiye jaate.
