Navin: Pranam Swamiji, Jai Shree Krishna. Pitru shrads started from 23-09-10. According to bavishya puran there are twelve shrads NITVYA, NAIMINK, KAMYA, VRIDHI, SAPRINKNAMA, (SARPDUNK) PAVAN GOSTI, SUDRA YARTH,KARMANG, DAVIK, YATRATH, PUST YARTH
THE DESCRIPTION IS AVAILABLE IN MARKAND PURAN
MARHASI JAMBLI HAS ALSO RECITED SHARDS
MAHARSHI SUMANT SAYS, MAHARSHI HAMANDRI SAYS THE The relation of shrads is for dead person (Pitri) it has nothing to do with living person. He further says If shrads is done for priti and if priti is in devlok due to good karm,is shrads is done for him then shrad jal receives AS amrit same if he is in gandrarav yoni he get as bhog, in pasu yoni he get gas ( Grass),in nag yoni he get as vayu rupe, in yax yoni as panrupe, in rakshash yoni he get aamish rupe, in danav yoni mas rupe, pretyoni rakt rupe and in manusya rupe anak khad and bhojan chaya rupe reaches to priti.
My question. What we know from Ved that soul is individual it has no relation with any one like parents, children, and relatives so what is the importance of this shrads? In sharads katha, I understand that if shards is performed, pitri will give blessing and if not performed pitri will give shrap. According to karma, soul is the the only owner of his karm, and God says he will not do anything to your earned karm either bad to good, so how can pitri give blessing and shrap?
According to me when we live in family as parents, son and grand son, we have emotional attachment with departed soul and to remember on his anniversary or even shrads day,
In Ramayan God Ram has also performed his father dasrath shrads, does it differ from remembrance or what else?
Kal sharp you has a story that in past life one has killed sharp hence this birth it is kal sharp you, does this additional to karma earning
I referred this matter to several karm kandi brahamans, but 99% does not know what is the actual meaning for shrads, they are simply interested in daksina because they are brahamans
Our religion is so much complicated that it is very difficult to know what is right and what is wrong and there are several dharma criminals they simply wish to earn their own bread.
I shall be pleased and obliged if you will let me know more about sharads
Once again Pranam
Swami Ramswarup: My blessings to you. My article on shradh is appended below. After studying the article, you may send your query, if any.
The alive parents are to be served faithfully. Everybody knows that a person who is alive takes food, water, puts on clothes etc. After death body is burnt. Now how the parents will be able to take food. They according to the karmas get next birth too. So shradh is against the Vedas’ philosophy.
Anna Daan/Shradh to departed soul
Vedas are eternal knowledge which emanate direct from God at the beginning of every universe. Being the knowledge direct from God, each statement of Ved mantra is also eternal truth.
Thirty-ninth chapter of Yajurveda states about death. The soul when leaves the human body remains under control of a divine air named “Sutratma vayu”. Mantras tell that after wandering unconsciously for thirteen days in the space and planets like Sun, moon, etc., soul comes again on this earth inside the vegetation. Then either the soul enters the male living being’s body according to pious deeds and sins through pores or is duly mixed within vegetation and taken by a male person. Then the soul takes rebirth through parents.
This process is an eternal truth. However, if soul is religious and has done hard tapasya then the soul gets salvation. Only soul has to face the result of previous lives’ deeds through living being’s body. Since soul is alive whereas body is non-alive matter. So body does not face the result of deeds. When soul has gone out of body then how the soul will see, hear, taste, smell or touch or will be benefited of any pious deed etc.? therefore Vedas do not tell about the present system of shradh etc.
However, the pious deeds done to remember the departed soul by means of devotion or organising the holy Yajyen with Ved mantras, its result never goes in vain and the family is benefited.
Departed soul never meets again please. Even departed soul, when take rebirth, forgets every event of his previous life. As regards dreams Atharvaveda states that dreams of departed soul are not good so it is in your interest and welfare that you do not see dreams.
No Rishi has recommended shradh. Rishis are called those, who after studying Vedas, doing name jaap of God, daily yajyen/havan, hard practice of ashtang yoga attain Samadhi and ved mantras originate within them. When there is no mention of shradh in Vedas, then how a Rishi can recommend the shradh. So, no pitra gives any blessings or curse (shrap) etc., when shradh does not exist in Vedas and soul after leaving the body can’t eat and takes next birth within thirteen days.
The emotional attachment is due to lack of knowledge of Vedas and real worship of God. Sri Ram never performed any shradh for Dashrath because he was learned of Vedas. Kaal sarp yoga etc., are also not accepted by learned of Vedas as the same do not exist in Vedas and are hence unauthentic. Mostly, the present saints do not recommend study of Vedas and do not themselves study it. So, due to lack of knowledge
Of Vedas, therefore, our religion has become complicated.
After studying my above article, if still there remains any query then you may send the same to me.
Again, my blessings to you.
D: Dear Guru jee, wish you a good health and expect a correct answer. I am very much querious about the name which are together with female and male. also it starts from female name first. why it happened in such a male dominated religion?
Swami Ramswarup: My blessings to you also for a long, happy life.
Names are given by the parents, elders etc. They decide the same at their own. For example- Komal is the name common to both male and female but in the ancient times as well as in the present, the names are given after performing “Name ceremony” i.e., after performing Holy Yajyen with ved mantras.
In such cases, names are decided from Vedas and name which is common to both male and female is never assigned. You may send your query again in case of non-satisfaction, please.
P: Please send me Vedas a Divine Light and Yoga-Divine Vedas Philosophy.
Swami Ramswarup: Books are being sent to you.
