Anoop: Namasthe Swamiji, thank you for answering my previous questions. I have started to explain the importance of Vedas to my family and friends. I would like to buy books on Vedas, Married life, Moral Science for Children. Please provide me the list of books available with price and payment method.
Today I would like to ask two questions.
1) Is jyothish shastra developed from Vedas?
2) Is it possible to predict an individual’s life in the matters of Career, Marriage, Children, Death using a kundli [horoscope chart]? Are the predictions based on Vedic astrology credible? I have seen an astrologer telling my friend that she should marry a boy having mangal in 8th house in his kundli, otherwise the boy will die. It is because of mangal dosha problem. On another occasion an astrologer told my friend that his brother will die at the age of 35 seeing the kundli. What is your opinion on such astrology predictions? Should we believe in it? Please help.

1. Nno, please. The present Jyotish shastra does not tally with Vedas.
2. As far as Vedas are concerned, it is not possible to predict using kundli. You see, we are free to do good or bad deeds vide Yajurveda mantra 7/48 but result result is awarded by God in shape of happiness and sorrows respectively. So, prediction and any solution, that too on the basis of kundli etc which is not mentioned in Vedas, is quite impossible. No mangal dosh is mentioned in Vedas so your friend need not to worry. Death and birth are controlled by God Himself on the basis of one’s own deeds. So, it can never be predicted based on mangal dosh. My opinion is same as above based on true knowledge of Vedas that his brother need not to worry. However, every man and woman must worship daily based on Vedic philosophy. So, please try to perform daily hawan with Gayatri mantra in the beginning and thereafter with all other Ved mantras. The book to perform hawan with Ved mantras can be sent, if you so desire.

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Vyakaran Mahabhashya was written by Panini Muni, please and not by Pantanjali Rishi.
Harish Chander Arya: At the time of creation of the world, when there was no any person who knew any language then how did rishis teach Vedic knowledge? because teaching also requires knowledge of any language.
Swami Ram Swarup: If a boy takes birth in a village where nobody knows any language except Hindi then he learns Hindi language from his mother without knowing other languages. Similarly, the Rishis taught Sanskrit language, please.
