Uke: Dear Most Respected Swami ji, If one accepts your position of worship for the formless Almighty God only and no avartarship, what form of relationship should a devotee of Shri Ram, Krishna or Hanuman have with them in addition to worshipping the Formless Almighty God? Please accept my best regards!
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Devotee must accept the ancient dignitaries like Sri Ram etc., as Rishi-Munis, Yogis and Rajrishis etc., who have left their human body and now cannot preach, cannot teach Vedas etc.
Therefore, Rigved mantra 1/70/1 tells that alive Rishi-Munis, Yogis who has taken birth from parents, is required and not those who have gone to heavenly abode.
Indira: Swamiji, Pranam. We named our son as Shritan. We would like to change his name Shritan to Sricharan. We wanted to know, what does ‘shritan’ mean?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter.
Shritan means the body of shri i.e., wealth. But this does not relate to Vedic name. Yes, Surya is Vedic name, if you would like, we’ll send you the Vedic name.
