Ajay Agarwal: Pujya Swamiji. I have a mandir in my house and all the Gods photos and idols are placed in the east facing west. Goddess Durga, my Kul Devi, Kali and Rani Sati photos are placed on the south direction facing north. I want to know where shall i put My Pitraji i.e My Parents and My Dadaji’s Photos. n which direction should i put their photos and facing which direction? Please help.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. As the Goddess quoted by you in your questions are not mentioned in the eternal knowledge of Vedas which emanates from God. So sorry, I cannot comment into the matter. Vedas tell only to worship Almighty God Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. As regards, photos of your loving parents you may put the same anywhere please.
Pawan: Kya kaktus ghar main lagana chahiye ya nahi agar lagana chahiye to kis disha main?
Swami Ram Swarup: Jahan bageecha lagaya hai wahhan cactus laggane mein koi harz nahin hai. yeh ek prakar kee herb hee hai.
Niraj: Sadar pranam My name is Niraj. I have some financial problems hence dependent on parents. Could you tell me how to get out of this. Also is astrology possible through the knowledge of Vedas. I would like to know my future as I have had a rather sad past.
Swami Ram Swarup: If you are above twenty one then you should either seek a job or do business in consultation with your parents to earn money. Present astrology is totally against Vedas so learned do not accept it. Future is in your own hands. A person who works hard and is never demoralized in any circumstances makes his future bright.
FUTURE
Future is based on pious deeds, hard working towards a right path and God helps those who help
themselves. It depends on your hard working and pious deeds. One should worship God daily to get His blessings in every matter. Good job, education, richness, happiness etc., is the result of previous life’s pious deeds and present life’s hard working, dedication, devotion, hardworking, honesty etc.
And in this life one should always also do real worship of God to finish the obstacles if any which may be due to previous life’s bad deeds. So worship is always required along with hard working, devotion, dedication towards right path to get progress in the life.
In this connection, I paste one of my answers in this regard below:-
kehte hain peeche ka jikar na kar aagey kee fikar na kar. Present ka fakar kar. Isliye hamein vartamaan kee chinta honi chahiye ki hum vartamaan mein hamesha vedic shubh karma karein. Kyunki vedon mein yeh saaf taur se kaha hai ki jab hum present mein matlab is jeevan mein rozana ved, shastron ke anusaar shubh karma aur upasana aadi karengey to bhootkaal arthat pichle janmon ke kiye sab ashubh paap karma jinhonne hamein ab dukh dena hai weh nasht ho jayengey aur sadhak sukhi jeevan prapt karega phir inhi present shubh karmon ke karne se sadhak ka bhavishya ujjawal ban jayega atah hum present ke bare mein adhik sochein. Isee se bhavishya ka nirmaan hota hai.
Dr Deshpande: Dear and respected Acharyaji, I would like to ask- Can women read and
study Vedas? I could see the answer as yes in some places. But recently when I tried to read Shreemad Bhagawat, it says in one place that women were not entitled to read Vedas and that’s the reason Bhagawat was scripted. Is it true? If it is not true, may I please know the scripture reference (of course authentic) which allows women to read and study Vedas? The second question is I want to know the best source book that can help me understand actual difference between Dvaita and Advaita philosophy and tell me the actual reality. Thank you so much for your time. Regards.
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, every soul in human life either male or woman are equally entitled to study Vedas and to follow it. You see, Vedas knowledge is meant for soul and not for bodies. Through human body the soul gets salvation and not body. As regards, Bhagwad Geeta, it is an extract from Bheesham Parv of mahabharat epic written by Vyas Muniji so Bhagwad Geeta is completely according to Vedic knowledge because Vyas muniji was a philosopher of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga Philosophy. So it has not been mentioned in anywhere in Bhagwad Geeta that woman is not entitled to study Vedas. Actually, the secrets of Bhagwad Geeta written by a philosopher of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga Philosophy i.e., Vyas muniji can be known only by those who have the same knowledge of Vedas as Vyas Muniji had. But nowadays mostly the people read the comments of those saints etc., who are ignorant of the said knowledge of Vedas, hence problem. I would advise you to read my book “ Bhagwad Geeta- Ek Vedic Rahasya” Part I, II and III worth Rs.400/-, 400/-, 250/- excluding postal charges, in which the description of every shloka is based on and with proof of ved mantra. The book can be sent on receipt of your postal address, if you desire please. However, Bhaagwat Purann is not accepted by learned because in the said Purans there are several quotations which are against Vedas. All four Vedas allow women to read Vedas. Dvait and
Advaitwaad Philosophy is a lengthy matter so cannot be described here in full. I would advise you to read my book “Vedanta and eternal Vedas philosophy” Part I and II worth Rs. 31/- and
Rs.20/- excluding postal charges, if you desire. In short I paste my article in this regard below:-
Traitwad
In Vedas, it is clearly mentioned that there are three matters in the universe i.e., alive matters- God and souls and non-alive matter- prakriti, so in Vedas, there is traitwad and not advaitwad. Though at present, according to the views of the present saints, there is – Advaitwad, Vishisht Advaitwad, Dvaitwad but eternal knowledge of Vedas which emanates direct from God only preaches “Traitvad”. In Traitwad, there exist three matters:
(1) God (Ishwar)
(2) Souls (Jeev)
(3) Prakriti (Prakriti)
God and souls are alive whereas Prakriti is non-alive matter.
Advaitwad was introduced 1,220 years ago by Shankaracharya. Vishisht Advaitwad about 935
years ago by Ramanujacharya and Dvaitwad was introduced about 809 years ago by Madhvacharya.
However, it will have to be considered deeply that Traitwad mentioned in Vedas is eternal as knowledge of Vedas emanates direct from God and not by any Rishi, Muni, Yogi, man, woman, saint, satguru etc. So Traitwad is not man made but it is God–made.
In the present scenario, certainly it has become a problem to define God so as to worship Him. In this connection, one thing is clear that God creates the universe so His creation cannot imagine or create its own God. God creates living beings’ bodies wherein only human beings are entitled to worship God. The mind of human beings is made of Prakriti. So, mind is creation and human mind cannot make or imagine its own God.
Secondly, if a person goes to an unknown place where nobody knows him then it is necessary that the person will have to introduce himself there. Without his introduction none will be either able to know him or imagine/create his (person’s) name, nature, qualities, identity etc., themselves. I mean to say that to know about the God, the above quoted two points are not applicable then WHO WILL KNOW THE GOD?
Answer is he whom the God, Himself makes able to know, he only can know the God. Now, question arises is there any provision where God introduces Himself and to whom? Answer is Yes, if an aspirant desires to know the God, strives hard in his path and studies all the religious books of the world then it would be revealed that the answer of the above two points (God is not imagined by anyone and not made known by any person) is given in Vedas for example Rigveda Mandal 10, Sukta 181 that in the beginning of every creation, the knowledge of four Vedas is originated in the heart of four Rishis by the God only wherein God Himself introduces Him. The said process is eternal and automatic.
Now, it will be a vast topic to explain about creation which has already been explained several
times in my other books and in this book as well. Here, it is stated that God has introduced Himself in Four Vedas about His divine names, deeds, power, nature, worship, qualities, etc.
For example, God in Samveda mantra 265 states- (ANDHASAHA MADESHU) i.e., he who is the reason to generate divine food i.e., spiritualism and divine pleasure. (MAHA) the greatest (VICHETSAM) alive and having unlimited knowledge (SHAKINAM) Almighty (INDRANAM NAAM) whose name is Indra.
God states further in the above mantra that Oh! Man and Woman (GIRA ABHI GAYA) you eulogise and worship the said God with your voice. (YATHA) according to (SHRUTYAM) Vedas’ (VACHAHA) divine voice.
Meaning: He who is the reason to generate divine food i.e., spiritualism and divine pleasure for
those who worship Him. Who is the greatest in universe, alive and having unlimited knowledge, who is Almighty and whose name is Indra, Oh! Man and woman, you eulogies and worship the said God with your voice according to Vedas’ divine voice.
Idea: Samveda is considered the greatest Ved amongst the four Vedas. This Ved mainly states about the eternal worship of God wherein Yajyen, name jaap of God, Ashtang Yoga Philosophy has been mentioned. Hence, in this mantra also Almighty God tells the human beings to worship the God whose divine qualities, power and nature has been mentioned in the Vedas.
That is why, God stresses in this mantra that Oh! Human being describe eulogies/chant about the God exactly as has been mentioned in the Vedas.
Though the names and the qualities of Almighty God as per Rigveda mantra 1/164/46 are unlimited
but some of His qualities are mentioned below:
(1) He creates, nurses and destroys the universe,
(2) Atharvaveda Kand 13, Sukta 4, Prayaye 6, mantra 16 states that God is one for whole universe. Mantra further states, there are not 2, 3 or 4 Gods, He is only one.
QUALITIES OF SOULS (JEEVATAMA)
Soul is alive. Soul has to face the result of his deeds. Soul takes body of human beings, animals,
birds, trees etc., according to deeds of past lives. Soul feels sorrow, happiness etc., through body. When soul leaves body, it feels nothing but carries all karma to be faced in next birth through his chitta’s (chitta) vritti (vritti).
Souls are innumerable but are constant in number having similar qualities like being pure, immortal, alive etc. Soul is infinitesimally small, is invisible. The bodies of all living beings contain souls.
Not God but soul has desire, hatred/malice, merriment, sufferings, attachment etc. While attracting itself towards materialistic articles made of prakriti soul forgets his original form. As a result, soul recognizes himself as body. This is the stage of soul being unwise.
“NA TAM VIDATH YA IMA JAJAANANYUDYUSHMAKAMANTARAM BABHOOVA,
NEEHAREINN PRAVRITA JALAPYA CHASUTRIP UKTHASHASCHARANTI.”
(RIGVEDA MANTRA 10/82/7)
(TAM) that God (NA) not ( VIDATH) known (YAH) who (EMA) all worlds (JAJANN) creates and (YAT) from you (ANYAT) separate from other souls(YUSHMAKAM) from you (ANTARAM) with in all (BABHOOVA) is (NIHAREINN) fog like smoke (YAT) that God (PRAVARITAHA) covered (JALAPYAHA) baseless discussion (ASUTRIPAHA) satisfied only in Prann [breathing system] (UKTHASHASAHA) only paying lip service (CHARANTI) deals or behaves.
Meaning: Like an invisible matter which is covered with fog similarly dealing in only lip service and indulging in baseless discussion and are satisfied in their breathing system, Oh! Man-woman, you do not know the God who creates the five matters/universe and the God who is separate from other souls and who is within all.
PRAKRITI
All Vedas describe about the Prakriti also in detail. Rigveda mantra 10/129/3 states that during
the final destruction, when no matter exists except alive God, souls without bodies and prakriti. In the mantra the name of prakriti is “Abhu” then a power of Almighty God contacts and works in Prakriti and immediately the creation starts i.e., above cited three qualities are turned into the universe, as stated in Atharvaveda mantra 9/10/26 also.
Based on all the Vedas, Kapil Muni in his Sankhya Shastra Sutra 1/26 states that when Raj, Tam and satva qualities, (gunnas) of Prakriti remain idle i.e., are not in action (inactive/dormant stage) then the said stage of the three qualities is called Prakriti. The said stage only remains during the final destruction of the universe which is called “Pralaya” because at this stage no creation starts after completion of the stipulated time of pralaya (final destruction).
So when three qualities i.e., Raj, Tam, Satva of Prakriti remains idle and do not create universe during final destruction then there are named Prakriti and when Prakriti turns into universe then it is called “Srishti” i.e., universe. Prakriti is non-alive matter. God is lord of Prakriti and souls when creation does not start. And God is lord of universe when creation is completed.
Difference between two or three or more matters is based on individual qualities. For example- prakriti is non-alive matter from which all the matters of universe like sun, moon, air, water, crops, bodies of all living-beings are made. But from God, nothing can be made and God is even alive matter. So, Prakriti differs from God and souls, souls also being alive matter. Now, see souls have to face the result of deeds whereas God never bears the same. Yog shastra sutra 1/24 also describes about formless, Almighty God that God is always away from the bindings of karmas i.e., God never bears the result of any deed whereas soul bears the same. In Vedas, there are thousands of ved mantras which tell only about traitwad and not about present advaitwad.
My blessings to you for a long, happy life and you are most welcome.
Edvir Singh: There is one shlok on a perfect lady in Vedas. How should be An Indian Women. Please tell me thru slok. Once I had read a shlok in a news paper but I couldn’t remember. In that 4 line shloka, all duties of a women were discussed.
Swami Ram Swarup: A learned lady is stated like Braham in Atharvaveda mantra “ISTREE HI BRAHMA BABHOOVITH.” However, I would also like to advise you to read my book “Vedas A Divine Light Part III” worth Rs. 100/- excluding postal charges, if you desire, in which duties of husband and wife according to Vedas have been mentioned.
