Anonymous: Am I not cheating by confessing about the previous mistakes to my husband? I was guilty of a sin before marriage.
Swami Ram Swarup: Repentance means that guilty person will not repeat the sin in whole of life. So, to be guilty at this stage does not occur. The past thoughts do not leave the person who does not repent truly. Otherwise, after repentance a person start his new life happily forgetting the past and question to be guilty does not arise. A person has to look towards himself only, not others in such matter because we do not know the events of others or even should not try to know. So, trouble ends or will be ended by you then and there when you fully repents, forget the past and start new faithful happy life with your family. You are yourself making your life miserable. Do you know the consequences of telling the matter to your husband?
It may be in your favour or may be against, even worst. For whole of life either he may curse you and curse himself or may put divorce paper duly holding the right on your son and you may be kept alone. Now, it is your responsibility to take decision, please.

Swami Ram Swarup: Samved mantra 830 states that he who starts offering aahutis in the vedi/havan kund while performing daily havan/Yajyen he himself makes his future bright. Several ved mantras tell that luck i.e., future is in our own hands. So, when a person always does pious deeds and performs daily yajyen and is discharging his moral duties when his previous life’s bad deeds which are assigned to award result of bad deeds in shape of sorrows are totally destroyed and are making the devotee’s future bright automatically. Secondly, the eternal knowledge of Vedas speaks to do the worship of only formless, Almighty, omnipresent and omniscient God who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. Thirdly, in all cases and even in daily life, any kind of addiction and non-vegetarian is strictly prohibited in Vedas, Shastras, Upnishads, Valmiki Ramayan, Mahabharat and other holy books. However, you may do worship as you like, in case, if you do not want to follow Vedas.

Swami Ram Swarup: As stated in Yajurveda 7/48, human-beings are free to do pious deeds or sins but result is awarded by Almighty God in the shape of happiness and sorrows respectively.
This secret framed by God in Vedas is known by God Himself in Vedas and not others. Secondly, as per Rigveda mantra 10/135/1, 2, we all are born to bear the result of said deeds which is called luck/future and whatever will be done in our daily, present life will be borne in next births. Again mantra 3 states that those who follow Vedic path under guidance of learned acharya of Vedas, they only become capable of destroying previous lives’ bad deeds(sins).
So, there remains no scope of destroying karmas’ philosophy (deeds), mentioned above i.e., nobody know about deeds, to be borne by a person and nobody is empowered to tell any situation to kill the effect of deeds except Almighty God.
