S: I am suffering from diabetes and not able to concentrate.
Swami Ram Swarup: I advise you to follow medical treatment regularly. Precautions advised by medical authorities should be strictly adhered to. You must get up early in the morning for long morning walk and light exercises. Take plenty of water, daily water must be cooled after boiling. I also paste a formula to be taken daily which will give you most benefit.
Neem powder’s formula:
CHIRETTA-KIRETTA = 1gm
GYOL = 4gm
AZWAIN = 6gm
MEETHI-SOUNF = 6gm
CHHOTI-PEEPAL =3gm
NEEM-leaves =25-30 leaves.

Make the powder of all above items and take one kadchi (i.e., kadchi used to prepare dal, vegetables etc.) and boil it in one and half litres of water for five minutes. Then let it be cool and afterwards sieve it. Now take half cup of this medicine and mix it with another half cup of fresh water. Take one cup of this medicine in the morning empty stomach. It must be continued for three months. You can also do kunjal kriya but it will have to be learnt by an expert. You can also do Uttanpada asan, bhujang asan, tiddi asan. Padam asan to overcome the problem. Prannayam will also help you. But all this yoga path will have to be learnt by an expert yogi in presence.

Satyabir Singh: How can we overcome useless thoughts and take our mind in good path? Please give me some ways in which I can keep out myself from bad habits.
Swami Ram Swarup: Your question is tough and requires detailed explanation which is not possible here being lengthy. However, some main points thereof are given please-
1. One must make frequent contact with his acharya. The acharya must be learned of Vedas and yoga philosophy.
2. Listening of Vedas and to attain the preaches thereof is necessary.
3. Should do daily havan from Ved mantras.
4. Must do name jaap of Almighty God daily after learning the eternal procedure thereof.
5. Should learn Ashtang yoga philosophy and should do its hard practice under guidance of a learned acharya. Asan, prannayam and meditation should be given more importance.

So, I would like to tell you that the time comes when the aspirant gets perfection in doing prannayam daily with the result he is able to control his senses, perceptions and mind. You are therefore advised first to study my three books if possible. The books will give you knowledge about yoga philosophy and Vedas. The books can be sent on receipt of your postal address. The above procedure to control the mind is eternal. Mostly the people think that name jaap, listening of holy books etc., will do the purpose but the experience of ancient Rishi-Munis state that the above quoted eternal procedure is necessary.

Anantha: Is it jagath mithya, as sri Shankaracharya said?
Swami Ram Swarup: Mostly, it is said, “Satyam Braham Jagat Mithya”. But I have not seen such words in Vedas. However, the correct meaning based on the eternal knowledge of the Vedas of the said words is – (Satyam) true (Braham) Almighty God i.e., the God is eternal truth. Truth is never disappeared/destroyed etc. Yajurveda mantra 2/26 states that God is Swayambhu. The meaning of Swayambhu is eternal truth, i.e., neither the God has been made by any matter etc/anybody nor any matter can be made from. So God is a everlasting truth. Mithya means falsehood/illusion. So, jagat i.e., world is Mithya i.e., world is a falsehood matter. It does not mean that the matters of the world do not exist. Matter exists, it is truth. Matters have been made by God from Prakriti and without the matters nobody is able to gain the knowledge of science, mathematics, God etc. Because soul requires assistance of five perceptions, five senses, mind (mann) and intellect (buddhi) without which the soul is nothing. Secondly, without sun, moon, water, fire etc., the crops, vegetation etc., cannot be grown and thus can’t be taken to live upon. So matters are there. However, to gain the knowledge of Almighty God one will have to become ascetic and ascetic reserves his separate path of spiritualism, where he controls his senses, perceptions, mind etc., and kills his baseless worldly desires. So it is said that jagat is Mithya i.e., the production of raj, tam, satva qualities of prakriti in the shape of sensuality (kaam), anger (krodh), greed (lobh), pride (ahankar) and other charming materials, are not required to realise God and thus become Mithya. I mean to say to realise the God, the worldly matters are treated as the same are mithhya (false) being unwanted matters for a Yogi. But the said matters of the prakriti are required by others who are not ascetic and they use in full. So jagat actually is a truth but for those ascetics who are indulged in the path of realization of God, the jagat is mithya as explained above.

M S B: Marriage prospects.
Swami Ram Swarup: Marriage is in the hand of Almighty God. However, God helps those who help themselves. You must also do daily hawan with Gayatri mantra both times. In the end of hawan, you must pray to God daily for His blessings for the same. It will be much better if you also, chant the Gayatri mantra in heart without speaking it, sitting on any asan, along with its meaning.
Future is based on present pious deeds. If anyone wants to make his future bright, he is required to do hardworking, pious deeds to maintain honesty, firm decision and daily worship of God. Yajurveda mantra 7/48 states that human beings are free to do pious deeds or sins but result is awarded by God in the shape of pleasure, long, happy life and sorrows respectively. So why to worry about the future? In fact we should be concerned about our present pious deeds which will make our future bright. It is a fundamental law of Vedas that present pious deeds alongwith eternal worship of God based on Vedas destroys the result of previous lives’ sins which have to be borne in our future or present life.

So instead of wasting our energy in baseless thoughts or worries about future, we should channelize our energy in doing pious deeds in our present time.

Abhaya: What are the effects of religion on the lives of women?
Swami Ram Swarup: Eternal religion made by God in the shape of four Vedas is effective for both men as well as women. If it is followed faithfully then the person gets long, happy life. He enjoys wealth, health, fulfills pious desires and attains salvation. He kills all his sorrows, problems forever. I mean to say that the pious results of religion are unlimited and can’t be briefed here more.

Padmanabha M: Sir, for each nava graha who is the ruling god?
Swami Ram Swarup: As stated in all four Vedas especially in Mandal 10 sukta 129 of Rigveda, God who is one creates, nurses and destroys the universe in which navgrah i.e., nine planets are included. There is only one formless, Almighty, omnipresent God who is lord of the souls and prakriti. He only controls the universe. So we have to worship only the said formless God, say Vedas.
