Nitesh: Pranaam guruji. You say that God is formless, does this means that we should not worship lord Hanumanji, Shivji? How can we worship god without any image of his to think about, it is like thinking about air?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Vedas only preach to worship Formless, Omnipresent, Almighty God Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. He is our protector and
bestower of everything. He provides us with food grains, water, earth and every matter of the world. As regards, worship without any image, one will have to listen to Vedas, do name jaap of God and do daily hawan with Ved mantras under guidance of learned acharya of Vedas and Yoga Philosophy. The learned acharya will only guide to concentrate on a place of body and while remembering name of God Om or Gayatri mantra, properly where the image of God (God being Formless) is not
needed.
You see, when a science student studies about air, he has to think deeply about its qualities as to how the air is formed, its property to flow and its warmth and coolness and it gives us life and life to other living-beings and plants etc. I mean to say, the student will have to think deeply about the air. Similarly, in meditation, the devotee remembers/thinks deeply about the divine qualities of God
based on ved-mantras. Especially he does deep thinking of pious name of God- Om or Gayatri mantra. The said process is eternal and everlasting which is mentioned in the Vedas.
Raj Bhalla: Can harmonium be played while reciting the Havan Mantras? If so, should this music be recited in a particular swara?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, harmonium can be played while reciting sandhya mantra etc.,
but the musician should play harmonium properly. Particular swar of every singer differs. So, the swar should be that which suits the singer.
Vinay Arya: Namaste Guruji Was King Dasharartha(Ramayan) having three wives? If he were having three wives then was he a Arya? These kind of persons are called Vyabhicharis. It means that Dasharatha was a Vyabhichari.Then, was Lord Ram a son of Vyabhichari? Did he followed the words of a Vyabhichari and went to forest? One who follows the words of a bad person even when he is his father then it is not good. So it means that Ram did not do good works. Please Guruji tell me the truth.
Swami Ram Swarup: Namaste ji. Yes, King Dashrath had three wives and he was an Arya. Vyabhichari is he who has wives and still goes after other females. Similarly, the wife is called Vyabhicharini, who has husband and yet goes after other males. King Dashrath was a real Arya and his three wives were Vidushi i.e., learned of Vedas and thus they were devoted, sincere wives (Pativarta) . Actually, we put the question for which we normally are not entitled. I mean to say, King Dashrath and his beloved son Ram were also learned of Vedas and even they maintain brahamcharya while living in married life.
Rishi Valmikiji has written Valmiki Ramayan wherein he has produced a wonderful, pious picture of king Dashrath, his wives, Sri Ram and his wife Mata Sita. You see, when a student studies in a school or college, he learns several subjects from his teacher. Whatever he learns from a teacher, he is only entitled to put question before his teacher to clarify his doubts.
Nowadays it is a problem that we do not study our culture, but puts any question/misunderstanding etc., I would therefore advise to please study Valmiki Ramayan commented by Paramhansa Jagdishwranand Saraswatiji, available with M/S Vijay Kumar Hassanand, Nai Sadak,
Delhi-110006, if you desire.
Secondly, I would also advise you to listen my CD named Ram Katha based on Vedic culture, where in I have sung the pious qualities of Sri Ram and King Dashrath from Valmiki Ramayan. Then automatically we’ll bow before the said adorable dignitaries.
Vyabhicharis (sensuous/sinful persons) are those who nowadays do not obey and serve the parents and mostly are under the influence of wife. Sri Ram served parents and even public. King Dashrath served his parents and public faithfully.
On the earth, no one can tell any bad work done by adorable Sri Ram that is why I advise everyone to listen/study authentic Valmiki Ramayan.
