Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you for long, happy life. As per vedas and shastras, the meaning of dharma is – moral duites. Bhagwad Geeta shlok 3/15 states that Karmas emanates from vedas and vedas from Almighty God. Manusmriti shlok 2/6 states – Vedaha Akhilaha Dharmmulam, i.e., the knowledge of karmas comes from Vedas, in the beginning of the universe, only humanity is considered as dharma because present sects didi\ not exist at that time. So, he who listens to vedas, he actually knows about his moral duties and he discharges the same faithfully. He becomes hard worker. I mean to say, he only adopts the real eternal and true dharma. Vedas tell him to be learned and to get progress simultaneously in worldly matters and spiritualism.
In the absence of knowledge of Vedas nowadays people are mostly after materialistic matters and are indulged in blind faith, etc.
Kaliyug is not an alive matter. kaliyug is a calculated period of 4, 32,000 years. So, how second, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years would object a person to follow the true path or to do pious deeds? be brave and go ahead to adopt Vedic path for yourself, your family and society. S B: Pranama, I shall be within falsehood if I do not let Your Holiness know that as student of civil engineering practices and as a practicing civil engineer I have been studying and trying to promote sanitary engineering practices including pollution control practices. All this practices are considered within the society as not pious deeds. Starting from sweepers to burning ghat workers are, all are considered sinful, so also we are. Hence, please advice, what are pious deeds for us. Pranama to all of you.

Vedas always tell that a person should attain progress in both paths simultaneously i.e., in worldly science, pious deeds etc., and spiritualism. To serve the society is always considered a pious task. What is right or wrong is always decided by Almighty God and not man. So, one must always look after the welfare of public which is considered the pious deeds by God, say Vedas. So, those are defined as pious deeds which are done according to Vedas, otherwise are sins. The correct definition of pious deeds in Vedas and shastras is “Nodanaha Vachaha Iti Dharmaha” i.e., pious deeds based on Vedas which give us peace in present life as well as after death are called pious deeds/moral duties. So, to know about pious deeds, one should listen to Vedas or read Vedas. my blessings to you.

Lalit: Swamiji the human race today often faces the danger of the earth being hit by a big asteroid and a resultant destruction of the earth. You have previously told us that the destruction of the earth would take another 1 crore year as per the calculation from the information in the Vedas. That being the case does god through its power ensure that no big asteroid would hit the earth. Secondly,when we see thousands of life perish in a natural calamity than the query arises was that destiny, that is all the people were killed due to their karma and they were pulled by their fate at that place.
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, I agree that nowadays world as a whole is experiencing problems. Though the declared bad time has expired yet the mood of nature is not seen helpful to the human-beings. Yes, the final destruction of the universe would take about one Arab years and not one crore years but that is the matter of final destruction and not small scale destructions which are been taking place, daily. Yes, please. The problems, tensions, death, small level destructions which have been taking place before final destruction are due to the result of one’s karmas, being awarded by Almighty God. However, final destruction takes place at a stipulated time, automatically under creation and destruction of law of God.
