Sagar Anmalla: Swamiji pranam: Getting good education, getting a good job is it all the result of past deeds? Some people are very intelligent and hardworking but they never get the job they want, and there are people who are not hardworking and get the job they don’t deserve. So is that God decides the job and education of a person for that life period and we don’t have control on that? Please advice.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yes, both deeds i.e., past deeds and the present life’s deeds make the future bright. Duly influenced by the effect of past deeds, the environments to go ahead in the right path are made available and the present hardworking encashes it.

For example- due to the result of past pious deeds, an individual takes birth in a well to do family where he can achieve worldly progress as regards science, wealth etc., as well as spiritualism which is the main motto of human life but several persons avail only wealth and get indulged in illusion i.e., do not encash the result of previous lives’ pious deeds. Also anyone gets good marks in examination due to both deeds.

Secondly, if a person has got human life, it means he has sure some treasure of pious deeds of previous lives and is entitled to get progress in life by doing hardest effort presently.

So, if we have been provided with an opportunity as human being by the God then we should do hard work following the Vedic path which makes our future bright.

Similarly, it covers the situation of job. So, if an individual still struggles hard to seek the job based on his qualification etc., he can get good job either it is mentioned in his luck or not.

VJ: Swamiji, Can you explain the following:
1. Where does Veda mention regarding cycle of rebirths and Law of Karma. Some of the websites say that it was an addition from Buddhist philosophy,
2. Why are there so many religions existing in the world – how can so many people remain in ignorance and continue to live via Astha in believing in an idol or avtar (i read your article on avtar and idol worship). And why dont pundits publicly condemn such acts?
Swami Ram Swarup: (1) cycle of rebirth is mentioned in several mantras like Rigveda mantra 1/24/1,2 and Yajurveda mantra 3/54 and 55. So, the rebirth is eternal and everlasting. In Buddhism rebirth is not accepted.

(2). Uptil Mahabharat war, the knowledge of Vedas was in vogue. Due to numerous deaths of warriors the remaining mothers, sisters and children became helpless and plunged in sorrow. They did not continue their going to Rishi-munis to listen and to perform holy Yajyen etc. as a result, after sometime the knowledge of Vedas started declining and the next generation totally became unknown to Vedic knowledge. It inspired the people to make their own paths of worship, deciding their own God and hence several religions etc., emergence of this has caused the paths against the Vedas because as stated above the knowledge of Vedas had declined. In this connection, Tulsidas ji has very well written

SHRUTI SAMMAT HARI BHAKTI PATH
SANJUT BIRTI BIBEK,
TEHIN NA CHALHIN NAR MOH BAS

KALPAHIN PANTH ANEK

Meaning:- Due to attachment and illusion, people do not follow the eternal path of Vedas, which leads to acquisition of ascetism and true knowledge. On the contrary, people have made their own parts as per their suitability and interest. The suitability and interest is actually called “Attachment”.

Present sects are the outcome of thoughts of various gurus. When the universe is created then there is no Guru present at that time. At that time, formless God is the first Guru of four rishis and I give you more information in this regard by my another article (Vedas’ Philosophy).

All sects carry the same fundamental rules however those need to be understood from learned acharya of Vedas.
