Vijay: I am a father of a baby boy who took birth few months back. His rashi is Makar (Capricorn). So, we decided to name him starting with letter J and Kh. Please suggest us also names with meaning.Swami Ram Swarup: I shower my heartiest blessings to your newly born son. You may choose any name from the following-
1. Jai – one who is victorious.
2. Jitendra- who has achieved control over his senses and perceptions.

Following names from Vedas are also advised because in Vedas there is no strict rule to start a name with particular alphabet.
1. Puneet – one who is pure.
2. Ritein – Truthful.

3. Maneesh – one who thinks deeply.

4. Kavi – Learned.

N: Does sexual indulgence reduce weight and make a person thin?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. It is a disease which affects the entire body. So, please take medical advice immediately. If possible, you should read my book- Brahmcharya- Ek Dukh Nivarak divya manni (in Hindi) worth Rs.100/-, excluding postal charges. It can be sent to you on receipt of your postal address, if you so desire.

N: Pranam guruji please tell me what is abhiman
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. As regards abhimaan, it is controlled when a person makes contact with learned acharya of Vedas and starts daily havan, name jaap of God, study of Vedic culture and hard practice of Yoga philosophy. Abhimaan means to think himself superior to others as regards wealth, health, beauty, family background, education etc.

Arun: Do we have to flow ashes of our loved ones or we can keep them? I am having hard time to throw them in water even I know he is gone?
Swami Ram Swarup: The tradition in accordance with Vedas is that ashes should be flown in running water be it river etc. So, we must follow the Vedic path.

Satish: Ram Swarup Ji, Regarding Puranas: Do the puranas contain real stories, fiction? Is Shivlinga worshipped by Rishis or it has also been after Mahabharata? If idol worship came after Mahabharata, is there any Rishi who supported idol worship, temples and Prana-pratishta for idols?
Swami Ram Swarup: Most of the stories in Purann are fictitious and are not based on eternal Vedic culture.

About Rishis

Atharvaveda mantra 4/30/3 and Yajurveda mantra 40/7 state that a Rishi/Yogi who is learned of Vedas and after practising Ashtang Yoga, has realised God then God tells that “I Myself make him Brahmin, Rishi providing him with purest divine mind.” So Rishis are those who have realised Almighty God as well as have seen the meaning and idea of the Ved mantras within them in Samadhi that is why, the Rishis are called Mantradrishta Iti Rishi. That is why, Patanjali Rishi in Yog Shastra Sutra quoted above states that Rishi is also the purest due to his said hard Tapasya. So he also never tells a lie, so the writings and views of the Rishis in the shape of holy books, like the books quoted above, are also accepted as authentic.

Now, I tell you that in Vedas, shastras and Upnishads etc., there is no mention of shivling except worship of Formless, Almighty, Omnipresent God who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. So, how a Rishi can worship a Shivling. When idol worship /Avtarwad has not been mentioned in Vedas then how can a Rishi, who is Mantradrishta of Veda mantras can do idol worship? So, Rishis never did idol worship and those who do idol worship they are never called Rishis.

Nitesh: Pranaam guruji why should we not watch cartoons?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Not only cartoons but everyone must avoid to
watch the bad scenes of T.V.

Nitesh: How should one do hanuman bhakti? What should we offer to Hanuman ji on Tuesday?
Swami Ram Swarup: Our Vedas tell only to worship Formless, Almighty, Omnipresent
God who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. Knowledge of Vedas emanates direct from God. So, we must follow Vedic path.

Nitesh: Pranaam guruji please give me some evidences that God is present at every place like school, home, park, etc.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. In this regard, I paste my relevant answer- God is omnipresent and the fact has been stated in all four Vedas like Yajurveda mantra 40/1 and 8. It means God is everywhere, within us as well as outside also. In sun, moon, bathroom, water etc., and thus there is no space where a man can hide himself to do sins because God is everywhere and seeing every body every time. You see, the rays of sun touch the earth including urine, toilet, dirty gutters etc., but the rays do not get effected from dirt. God is the minutest/subtlest matter than air, sunrays etc., and has a divine quality and nature that God is even within stomach where toilet, urine is present but remains always the purest. It is pertinent to mention here that even soul that resides in the left eye of the body while being awake and moves to throat and then to heart in the stage of seeing dreams and while having sound sleep respectively is also so minute and subtle that he can’t be touched by blood, skin or wall of arteries etc. Then what to talk of God who is even more minute and subtle than soul.

Yajurveda mantra 40/1 states-

“EESHAVASYAMIDAM SARVAM YAT KINCHCH JAGATYAM JAGAT”

i.e., whatever there is in the universe, the God being omnipresent, is present in all the matters. That is why, we say that God is everywhere.

Vedas state that God is omnipresent, He is everywhere, He is Almighty, does not take avtar, He is Formless. He is the purest and does not face the result of any deeds etc. He creates, nurses and
destroys the universe etc. However, God is beyond calculation, beyond imagination and beyond description.

Almighty God is the purest matter in the universe. You see God is omnipresent therefore also is present in our stomach, stool, urine, blood, etc., but no any matter is able to touch Him. He (God) thus always remains the purest.

There are several Sankhya Shastra sutras exist which state about the formless omnipresent God. For example- Sankhya shastra sutra 3/56 states –

“Sa Hi Sarvvit Sarvkarta”

Meaning= (Hi) because (Sa) He i.e., God (Sarvvit) omniscient/knower of everybody and (Sarvkarta) creator of the world i.e., God is omnipresent/omniscient and creator of the universe.

K D Gupta: Swamiji pranam. Is Yaj ch 16 devoted to Kord Rudra , narrated in upanishad?
Swami Ram Swarup: ‘Rudra’ word in chapter sixteen of Yajurveda has been used for formless, Almighty God, souls and also for a king, acharya etc., depending upon the subject matter of mantra. But Rudra word has never been used for Shivji/Shankar in Vedas.

BKB: Pranam, Guruji. Charan Sparsh. With your blessings I have booked tickets for coming to Ved Mandir. We will reach Ved Mandir on the prescribed dates. As informed myself, my wife, two daughters and my mother in law will come. My worship is going on. My wife was doing havan daily and now from some time she has also started doing asan, pranayam & dhyan. Though she is not entirely regular, I have told her to do it daily. I have also advised her to read your Bhagwat Geeta daily and she has started it. My brother in law who came with me at Ved Mandir has done arrangement for dong daily havan at home and will start from next week. It has been delayed due to making space arrangement at home. We are trying to do daily worship without lapse to the extent possible. I think discipline is very important for this and we have to still try hard for that. We have to improve a lot in many ways. Guruji we seek your blessings in this path. We seek your guidance, teachings and blessings through regular visit at Ved Mandir and your darshan. I remember I used to get up around 7/7.30 am before my first visit to Ved Mandir last year. Then I started to get up around 6.30 am. But last time it was advised by you that we should get up before sun rise as per Vedas. So now I get up at 5.45 am daily to give more time for worship. I have many questions to ask on Vedas, daily life’s practical questions etc. and I will ask during my visit so that we all get Vedas knowledge from you. It gives immense pleasure when we sit in front of you at Ved Mandir asking questions and you reply the same. Though I can seek answers on web site but it cannot be compared when we ask in front of you. At Ved Mandir your way of reply and explanations is heart touching when we personally listen from you. Frankly speaking the reason is that you being smadhi prapt, GOD resides in you and it is “Ishwar wani” when you reply to us so that experience cannot be explained in words. We are very lucky to listen to you and have your darshan. As informed we wait for the day when we will come to live near Ved Mandir and take your darshan and listen Vedas daily. I pray to GOD that HE shall give us that chance in this life. I pray that you shall live for hundreds of years (enlightening knowledge of Vedas to much needed world of present world) and I shall leave this body before that listening to you taking my last breath. Guruji, as a normal human
being I have may short comings but I will try to remove them with firm decision/hard worship so please bless and guide me. Further, yesterday I have received CDs of “Sarv vyapak Ishwar Mahima Suno” by courier and lot of thanks for the same. I will make payment of this during my visit. Seeking your guidance, with Charan Sparsh.
Swami Ram Swarup: My heartiest blessings to you, my son. Your sincere efforts in this path are highly appreciated because these are needed as per Vedas. This is called hard-working in spiritualism as well as in worldly pious family duties. We all are happy to hear about the arrival of your family on the prescribed date. You all are welcome here. Again, my heartiest blessings to you all for a long, happy life.
