Rajendra: I have entered an agreement for purchase of land but due to some problem I am incurring huge losses. Please inform me whether I will come out with problem and up to what time?
Swami Ram Swarup: Problems generally came in the life because we’ve to face the result of our previous lives’ deeds. In this connection, I paste my relevant article :-

Rigveda mantra 10/135/1,2, 3 we’ve been blessed with the human body to face the result of our previous lives’ deeds – good and bad, in the shape of happiness and sorrows. When we’ve to face bad deeds then naturally everybody says that it is our bad luck but mostly people do not think that God has done justice and the sorrows/problems given by God is the result of our said deeds. Further, the ved mantras state that if a person makes contact with learned acharya of Vedas and yoga philosophy and becomes able to gain knowledge of Vedas and obey preach of Vedas then the effect of bad deeds is automatically destroyed and future becomes bright. Secondly, God helps those who help themselves. So, hardworking, devotion and dedication also makes future bright.

Shubh Din

All the days, week, month, years, minutes, seconds have been created by God and thus are always pious. Regarding the philosophy of deeds, Vedas tell that we have come here to face the previous lives’ deeds (good or bad) according to Rigveda mantra 10/135/1,2 and we have to face the said deeds in the shape of pleasure and pain respectively. So, the days are not concerned with auspiciousness or bad omens. If we do pious deeds today then one day we will enjoy pleasure and if we do bad deeds then in the future on any day we will have to face sorrows awarded by God. So, the day becomes full of pleasure or full of sorrows when we face our deeds as said above. So days are never good or bad but always pious and gifted. So days are never good or bad, but always pious and gifted to us by God to always do pious deeds to enjoy life.

Also the days, nights and times are never ashubh (unfortunate) being created by the purest God. only deeds done by us are bad or good. And based on the previous lives’ deeds we have to face the result thereof accordingly on one particular day and time. So days are not good or bad. It is our own deeds done by us which are bad or good.

So one can enter at one’s own convenience or suitability in his newly constructed house, shop etc., or start any pious work at any time. However, one should perform havan with Ved mantras before ensuing any of those works. It does not depends on any name and date of birth etc. because it is not mentioned in Vedas. We must be always away from blind faith.

Nimmy: What is the meaning of Rig veda 1.2.9?
Swami Ram Swarup: Rigveda mantra 1/2/9 is related to mantra 1/2/7 . In the mantra 1/2/7 there are two words Mitram and Varunnum. The meaning of mitra is “Surya” (sun) and Varunnum is prann and apaan air which is moving within body as well as outside body.

Meaning of Rigveda mantra 1/2/9 is that the famous originated Mitra and Varunna i.e., sun and air reside (connected) with several universal matters. The said mitra and varuna i.e., sun and air holds our strength, happiness, sorrows i.e., they prove the universal actions and knowledge and also they hold it. In the absence of sun and air there will be no life in universe. Sun causes rain and the rain generates crops, fruits, vegetation, gives water to living beings to survive. Animals after taking water provide us with milk etc., and from which we get energy/strength. Similarly we use air to survive.
