Mawaram: Namaste Swamiji, It is a pleasure to ask you questions and to receive an appropriate answer in such a short time. I am trying to locate a copy of the MAHABHARATA which has only 10,000 verses and not 100,000 verses. If the book is in Sanskrit and has English translation, I will be happier. Do you have any idea if the Mahabharata with 10,000 verses has any
information about Draupadi as having five husbands? I am trying to obtain some information to prove that the German, Max Mueller re-wrote the original Mahabharata during the 18th century to degrade Hindus and to prove that our religious books are rubbish. Thank you for prompt
Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji. Thank you very much. To attain the copy of requisite Mahabahrat, you are advised to approach M/S Vijay Kumar Hassanand, Nai Sadak, Delhi. It has easy comments in Hindi on each Sanskrit shloka. The study of Draupadi having five husbands is totally false being against Vedas and culture of Mahabharat. In this connection, I paste my article –
Multiple husbands of Draupadi and multiple wives of Sri Krishna
No, please. Draupadi had only one husband i.e., Yudhishthir Maharaj and Sri Krishna was a great Yogi and Brahamchari. Sri Krishna had two wives only – Rukmanni and Satyabhama. Only Purannas like Bhagwat Puranna has told about several wives of Sri Krishna which is not mentioned in Mahabharat etc. If multiple brothers are keeping one wife then it is a great sin. In Mahabharat, it is clearly states that when Arjun won Draupadi in swayamvar then Draupadi’s father Drupad, when asked Arjun to marry then Yudhishthir replied King Drupad that he (Yudhishthir) is elder brother of Arjun. And immediately King Drupad agreed to marry of his daughter with Yudhishthir only. Rest of the four brothers i.e., Arjun, Bheem, Nakul and Sahdev had their own separate wives. The Pandavas were princes. Even their public could not go against Vedas to keep a wife by 2, 3 or 4 brothers then what to talk about princes. Indian culture has been ruined by foreigners and now is being ruined by us due to illusion.
Yes, you are hundred percent correct that Max Mullar has even commented on Vedas, which are mostly against Vedas, degrading our culture. You are always welcome, please. My blessings to you.
S: I am Manglik. Can I marry a boy who is not a manglik?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, you can marry a boy, who is not mangalik. Even you are not mangalik why? Because eternal knowledge of Vedas which emanates direct form God , six shastras, upnishads, Original Mahabharat including Bhagwad Geeta, do not accept mangalik, teva, nadi dosh, kaal sarp dosh, etc.
Akthar Azmi: Hame Kisi bhi City or Town ko progress karne ke liye kya karna chahiye?
Swami Ram Swarup: Sabse pehle to har mazhab ko apas mein bhaichara badana chahiye. Phir sath-sath milkar samaj ke liye upkar karne wale kaam karne chahiye. Doosre ki tarakki dekh kar hamin khush hona chahiye, jalna-sadna nahin chahiye. Hum mehnut se kabhi na ghabrain. Nafrat aur jaatiwad ka koi bhi sthan samaj mein nahin hona chahiye. Neeyat achchi honee chahiye. Apne-apne mazhab ke pavitra granth sunein aur gyan jeevan mein uttarein.
