Lalit: Swamiji namaskar
1. At various places in many books you have quoted Ved mantras that talk about 3 lok. Could you please explain about these 3 loks?
2.You have said that as per the Vedas there is no differnce between a male and a female. That being the case there are many mantras that say that if we do good karma we will have putra (son) prapti. But why not putri prapti? Is the birth of son in anyways superior to that of a daughter?
3.9:179 sage Manu talks about remarriage. You have said that the Vedas do not permit more than one marriage.
4.How was the king selected in the Aryan era? Is electing the government …in a sense the king by the people today compatible to what the Vedas tells us about the selection of the king?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.
(1) first lok is Dyulok i.e., the planets which are shining in the sky like sun, moon, stars etc and second lok Antariksh Lok i.e., space and third lok is Prithivi Lok i.e., earth.
(2) In the matter of male and female I have written several articles. In short I tell you in Vedas soul is called Purush i.e., soul is in masculine gender which resides in the body of male and female person. So the body is called male and female not soul. As regards the desire of son which is being nowadays increased, is due to illusion otherwise to establish the world both male and female are required but salvation is attained by soul but not by body and you see the body is burnt on the pyre here. So there is no change in male or female person. I also paste an article in this regard below.

Are souls common for male and female and for animals etc., or different?
Vedas are proof and shastras and all books written by Rishi-Munis are secondary proof as also mentioned in Yog Shastras sutra 1/7. So if anything, any matter etc., is against the Vedas that cannot be considered true, Vedas being knowledge direct from God and are first originated in the heart of four Rishis, at the beginning of every creation then (AAT IT) without losing time (ASYAHA) with the knowledge of Vedas (BHAGAM ASHNUVE), the worshippable (AATMA GYAN) i.e., knowledge of souls and God attains. (Atharvaveda Mantra 9/10/15 refers)

Idea of the above mantra:-
The soul states – “Due to the attachment with the mind, I had forgotten myself. When I attained the knowledge of Vedas, I have become able to realize my self.”

Rigveda mandal 10 as well as Sankhya Shastra Sutra 1/26 state that there are three qualities of Prakriti i.e., Raj, Tam and Satva. When the time comes to create the universe then the power of God starts action in the prakriti and from the said three qualities of prakriti, the whole universe is created. First, the mind is created. Then ahankar, panch tan matra and panch bhoot and from panch bhoot, the whole universe is created. So, mind is made of prakriti’s gunna and prakriti’s gunnas, in other words is illusion. When the bodies of men, women, birds, animals, insects etc., are made, at the beginning of the earth, bodies remain statue i.e., non-alive .Thereafter, with the power of God, soul enteris the body according to the previous lives’ deeds. Souls are several and bodies are also several. Souls have same qualities but deeds are separate with the result souls get different types of body i.e., of men, women, animal, birds, insect etc., etc.

Therefore soul is not body and is not man, woman, bird, snake, insect etc., etc.

So there is no question of any superior or inferior. In vedas both have equal rights, only good qualities are required to be gained (achieved).

(3) Actually in Manusmriti the false shlokas has also been inserted which creates always misunderstanding. So please try to study Vishudh Manusmriti which is available with M/s Vijay Kumar Govindram Hasanand, Nai Sadak, Delhi.

While placing the order quote my reference also.

(4) In the Vedas there is procedure to choose the king by public. Secondly at that time the king should have been God fearing and learned of Vedas and Yoga Philosophy like Sri Ram, Sri Krishna, Dashrath, Harishchandra, Kuru, puru, kshipt, Vikshipt etc., etc. but it is our bad luck that ancients rules of Vedas are not imposed nowadays and hence injustice, corruption, blind faith etc., etc.

Monika: Swamiji Pranam! 1. Which mantra and pooja should i do daily. I get confused usually which name of GOD should I chant. GOD Shivs, GOD Durga, GOD Ganesha. My astrologer says that its good for my kundali to chant “OM NAMAH SHIVAY” daily as I have partial Kal Sarpa Dosh. So please guide me which GOD name should I follow and which pooja should I do. I sometimes do sundar kand path, I sometimes chant Sri Ram naam jap, Sometimes, Durga Mantras, some times Vishnu Mantras. But I always remain confused which GOD should I follow daily. Which mantra would give me a good job and will help me in getting married and will remove all tensions in my parent’s life and in our family and home. Please guide me that.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter.
(1) until a devotee takes deeksha properly, he /she should do name jaap of God – Om, both times. While sitting on siddhasan, sukhasan, or any suitable asan, closing both eyes and concentrating at point lying between two eyebrows. The name should repeated in mind and not orally. Vedas do not tell about kaal sarp dosh, mangal dosh, pitr dosh etc. so, no one should worry about such dosh etc.
Though, everything starts becoming fine after getting Deeksha from an acharya yet a person should do name jaap of Om, as briefed above, which will help the devotee.

Shiv: Thanks for your reply. It is a huge reality that I have known now. I am fully satisfied with your answer Swamiji.
1) Even in purana is is said that this trinity worshipping that power called GOD. But, Swamiji, since God is formless, whereas this trinity is visible and giving DARSHAN to devotees. PARLAD, DHRUV and hundred rishi worshiped VISHNU and SHIV and getting boon and attained liberation. Brahma giving boon to ASRUA (Ravan, Hirankasup, Kumbkaran, etc.) so they become powerful. Even RAM worshipped Lord SHIVA. And even shivlinga has been worshiped since Satyayuga.
Krishna said “I M GOD” and proved it and shown also his divine form (cosmo manifestation) and after he shown his Vishnu form. What was that virat rupa in which he shown all Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesha? Rishi like, Vedvyas, Atri, Bhrigu, Kashyap, Angris, etc. all worshipping this trinity. It is never mentioned they worshipped formless GOD. They are worshipping VISHNU, SHIVA and getting Darshan also. So they called JIVANMUKTA. “OM BHAGWATEY VASUDEVA NAMAH” is not a Veda mantra but big BHAKTA got liberation through this mantra? How can we deny all such things and how is it contrast to Veda?
2) We have 4 yuga. Are all thses 4 yuga is a puranic creation or these names (SATYAYUGA,TRETA,DOAPER,KALYUG) mentioned in Vedas?
Swami Ram Swarup: (1) There is only one eternal formless, Almighty, everlasting God but His names are several based on His qualities. In this connection I paste my one article on Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh as under.

Are Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh Gods?

Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh are not God. Vedas tell that there is only one formless God who never takes birth. He creates, nurses and destroys the universe. His power is enough to create and control the whole universe. He is Almighty i.e., He has all unlimited powers and therefore He does not need any assistance to create, nurse and destroy the universe by Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh. If God needs assistance then He will not be called Almighty. So God does not need any support but we all humans as well as all living beings need His support and blessings every time. However, in Vedas, there are innumerable names of Almighty God according to His divine qualities. So Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh etc., are also the names of the formless Almighty God. Brahma means the greatest. Vishnu means omnipresent and Mahesh means the greatest.

Trinity

There is only one God who is formless, creates, nurses and destroys the universe. He is Almighty and supreme, beyond description, beyond imagination and beyond calculation. He is omnipresent and omniscient. Divine qualities of Almighty God are described in eternal knowledge of Vedas. Vedas emanate direct from God. So all Hindus and others too believe in Vedas.

Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are the name of one said God. God has no wives please because He is Almighty and needs no assistance etc. No one is above God please. All religions tell to worship God.

Vishnu is also a name of formless, Almighty God based on quality. Quality is a sunder- “Vishnu” word is made from “Vishlari” Dhatu and the sense of Vishlari” is omnipresent. So he who has the quality of being Omnipresent at all times without a second’s break, He is Vishnu and no other Vishnu exists equivalent to this God. Similarly, Brahma= “Vri Vridhau” i.e., the biggest amongst the universe. Naturally, He is Almighty God. So, the name of Almighty God is also Brahma. Similarly, according to Yajurveda mantra 16/41 shiv means he who is beneficial/causes welfare, is shiv. The most beneficial, who creates and nurses the universe is Almighty God. So, Shiv is also name of Almighty God. Similarly, the said ved mantra states the word “Shankar” which means He who gives peace to all who Worship Him. The name of God is “Shankar” as well.

After studying articles you may please send query if any.

Rishi always worshipped formless God therefore he is called Rishi who is Ved mantra Drishta like Vyas Muni, Atri Rishi, Narad etc. And there is only story of Purann etc., that Vishnu and Shiv blessed Asur Ravan, etc. But in the authentic book i.e., Valmiki Ramayan, Upnishad, Mahabharat (Geeta) and other true holy books based on Vedas do not tell the said story. Vishnu means omnipresent God. Shiv means who is benevolent. So the said qualities are of one Almighty, formless God only.

Valmiki Ramayan never tell that Ram worshipped Shiva. Valmiki has told in his Ramayan that Ram studied Vedas, did several Yajyen and did hard practice of ashtang yoga Philosophy. Thus Sri Ram attains Samadhi. He has become like God but not God.

Shivlinga has not been worshipped since the time of writing of purann only otherwise the said fact could have been mentioned in Manusmriti and Valmiki Ramayan etc., which are the most ancient holy book . Manusmriti came into existence in Satyug and Valmiki Ramayan inTreta. Besides the eternal knowledge of Vedas do not tell for the same.

We tell for one God only who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. Yet who are worshipping the said shivlinga etc., they may go ahead at their own please.

As regards Sri Krishna Maharaj’s statement in Geeta, in this connection, I advise you to read my book Vedas Divine light and Bhagwad Geeta – Ek Vedic rahasya (chapter 1-6) in English and Hindi respectively.

Books can be sent on receipt of your postal address, if you so desire, please. However, my article is pasted below.

Why did Shri Krishna tell Arjuna in Bhagwadgeeta that I am the Supreme Personality?

As per Vedas, avtar is not possible please. To determine every truth, the main proof are Vedas, which are called self proof. Vedas state that after getting the knowledge from a learned Acharya, when an aspirant performs Yajyen, does pious deeds, discharges his moral duties faithfully, while doing the same he does practice of Ashtang yoga, he thus attains Asamprgyat samadhi. At this stage of Samadhi, Almighty God becomes present within him. Samveda mantra 944 states that at the stage of the Asamprgyat samadhi within the yogi, the preach of Vedas which flows from the mouth of Yogi is inspired by God Himself. So the Yogi at this stage can say, “I am Ganesh, I am Shiva, I have created universe and all must worship me etc., etc.” because at this stage the words uttered by the yogi are inspired by God Himself and the words are directed from God.

Secondly, the souls who had got salvation may come back and take birth to guide the people. And after doing his job the soul goes back at his own to realize salvation. This is as per Atharvaveda mantra 9/10/11. So within the soul of Shri Krishna Maharaj actually the words of God were uttered which are true. However, one must know that Yajurveda mantra 32/1 too says that there is only one formless God, who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. But His names are several according to His qualities.

So Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Ganesh, Shiva are the names of God according to His qualities which I have briefed several times before.

The views which do not tally with the Vedas automatically possess controversy please.
As “OM BHAGWATEY VASUDEVA NAMAH” has not been mentioned in Vedas so learned of Vedas do not accept it. However, who do jaap, they may continue at their own.

(2) Four Yugas are not puranic creation. I paste one of my articles in this regard below.

About Yugas

Manusmriti gives the proof in its chapter one that present time of the earth is 7th Manvantar. Uptil now 6 manvantar have passed. Those are Swayambhar, Swarochisch, Ottmi, Tamas, Ryivat and Chakshash, now its 7th manvantar. 71 chaturyugi = 1 manvantar.

There are four yug – Satyug, Treta, Dwapur and Kaliyug.
Satyug = 17 lakhs 28 thousands years
Treta = 12 lakhs 96 thousands years
Dwapur = 8 lakhs 64 thousands years
Kaliyug = 4 lakhs 32 thousands years

The total of four Yugas comes to be 43 lakhs and 20 thousands years which is equal to one Chaturyugi. 71 Chaturyugi i.e., 30 crore 67 lakhs and 20 thousands years equal to one Manvantar and 6 Manvantar have yet passed whose calculation comes to one Arab 84 crore 30 lakhs and 20 thousands years. This is 7th Manvantar and 28 Chaturyugi and the present Kaliyug has passed its time of 5002 years. So, uptil now the age of the earth and Vedas is one Arab 96 crore 8 lakhs 53 thousands and 2 years. Bhagwat Geeta shlok 8/17 also says about this fact.

14 Manvantar= 1 Kalp.

Vikas Gupta: Pranaam swamiji. Charan sparsh. Thank you very much for answering.
Swami Ram Swarup: You are most welcome, please.
