Swami Ramswarup: My blessings to you. Meditation is the seventh part of Ashtang Yog Philosophy. Its eight parts are yam, niyam, asan, prannayam, pratyahaar, dharnna, dhyan, Samadhi.
So, it is an eternal tradition that the said philosophy is learnt in person from a learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang Yog Philosophy. You are therefore advised either to come here or seek local learned acharya to learn meditation properly which is mentioned in Vedas.
Tulsi has several qualities. Some of them are mentioned here- It is used in skin diseases.

Swami Ramswarup: Mera aapko ashirwad beti. Aur jab bhi kuchh poochhna ho aap faurn likhein, garud purann mein likhee baatein sach nahi hain apitu ved virudh hain. Isliye vedon ke vidwaan garud purann ko nahi maante, mrityu ke pashchat atma kee shanti ke liye ved mantron se yajyen karna chahiye.
