Siddhart: Pranam guruji, Why eating onoin is prohibited in bandars also by many pandits ,if it is having any scientific and vedic significance?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Onion is not prohibited in Vedas, being vegetarian food. As regards monkeys, they are free to eat it and nobody can put a ban on them.

Nalini: We are planning to perform a mundan ceremony for our daughter when she completes 6 months in August We live outside india have invited my parents and in laws for this. Can you please advise if there are any customs of gift giving to parents or siblings? If yes, in what form is it usually given?
Swami Ram Swarup: Mundan Ceremony is performed either within one year or three plus age. Yes, parents must be presented with gifts as an honour to them and kids should also be made happy at this pious occasion by giving them gifts of their liking.

SG: Pranam guruji, Guru ji telling a lie is a sin . But what if someone asks something from me and I instead of telling truth doesn’t say any thing at all? I mean I didn’t lied nor I spoke the truth, instead I changed the topic or something.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yes, if you would not speak then the person who asks question may force you to give answer. Now, this is upto you whether you speak truth or go away from the site to avoid quarrel etc.

If someone is empowered to tell the truth i.e., is able to face the consequences then he should speak truth otherwise may keep silent.
