Manwar:Dear Swami ji, I was going through my old mails and I found I missed some thing great to know: You said ; Vishnu is also a name of formless, Almighty God based on quality.
Quality is a sunder- “Vishnu” word is made from “Vishlari” Dhatu and the sense of Vishlari” is omnipresent. So he who has the quality of being Omnipresent at all times without a second’s break, He is Vishnu and no other Vishnu exists equivalent to this God. Similarly, Brahma= “Vri Vridhau” i.e., the biggest amongst the universe. Naturally, He is Almighty God. So, the name of Almighty God is also Brahma. Similarly, according to Yajurveda mantra16/41 shiv means he who is
beneficial/causes welfare, is shiv. The most beneficial, who creates and nurses the universe is Almighty God. So, Shiv is also name of Almighty God. 1. Now the question is , according to your theory there are three Almighty and not ONE, where every body accepts that Almighty is ONE
in the whole universe and again that formless only. Who is that Formless Almighty and with form Almighty ? Kindly enlighten us. Regards Manwar

Dear Swamiji, Saadar Namaste, I have asked for few more questions in my last but one mail but I did not get reply. I have one more question:
You said: God is Almighty and has unlimited powers. So through His power He is able to originate the knowledge of Vedas in the heart of four Rishis without pencil, paper, help of mouth or any other worldly assistance.
1. Now: Legend says , Brahma ji originated the Vedas and therefore he percolated down to Rishies, is it true?
2. If Brahma ji did not then according to your theory it is wrong because Brahmaji is not in picture at all. So Almighty is doing all sorts of teachings and preaching etc. Kindly enlighten us. Thanks for your valuable time. Regards
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Rigveda mantra 1/164/46 states

“INDRAM MITRAM VARUNNAMAGNIMAAHURATHO DIVYAH SA SUPARNNO GARUTMAAN.
EKAM SADRUPA VIPRA BAHUDHA VADANTYAGNIM YAMAM MATRISHVAANMAAHUHU.”

i.e., some of the names of God in this mantra are Indra, Mitra, Varunn, Agni, Matrishva etc. God is the first Guru of four rishis and thereafter the Rishis after getting the knowledge from four rishis
have been traditionally giving us Para and Apara knowledge of Vedas till date. It will continue forever i.e., after the destruction of this universe too.

Rig-Veda mantra 1/164/46 says,” EKAM SADRUPA VIPRAH BAHUDHA VADANTI,” i.e., EKAM SATAM means truth is one i.e., God is one but VIPRAH = Rishis, Munis who were/are learned of Vedas, BAHUDHA VADANTI utter so many names of God mentioned in Vedas like AGNIM YAMAM MATRISHVANAM AAHUHU meaning-the names of God are Agni, Yam, Matrishva and AAHUHU means “says”. In Yajurveda mantra 32/1 the names of God stated are
AGNI, ADITYA, VAAYU, CHANDRMA, SHUKRAM, BRAHM, AAPAH, and PRAJAPATIHI
etc., etc., etc.

So, the mantra states that God is one but His names are several. For example- Water matter is one and will remain always one but its name are panee, jal, paya, neer etc. In the mantra it is stated that agnim i.e., omnipresent fire matter is also omnipresent but the learned of Vedas also state its several names like fire, pavak, anal, aag etc., but in all cases agni matter will remain one. In homes also names of boy and girl is for example- Aditya but in house nick name may be AD etc., but the boy will always remain one. Girl’s name is Richa but in loving manner her nick name is Gudia etc. Similarly, learned of Vedas (EKAM) only one (SAT) eternal, everlasting God (AGNIM) omnipresent God (YAMAM) who controls and is lord of universe.

(MATRISHVANAM) vaayu i.e., air (AAHUHU) states i.e., the learned of Vedas also (aahuhu) states the name of God that God is Ekam i.e., only one God. Sat i.e., eternal, everlasting God, Agnim i.e., Omnipresent God because fire matter has a quality of being omnipresent, so is the divine quality of Almighty God. So, His name is also Agni. Yamam i.e., who is lord of universe and who commands and controls the universe.

Idea- I stated above that matter remains always one but their names are several. Similarly, as many as divine qualities, divine deeds and divine nature of one Almighty, omnipresent God are there, the numbers of names of God are also same. Yajurveda mantra 32/1 also preaches (TAT) He is (EV) also Agni i.e., God is shape of Knowledge (because eternal knowledge of Vedas emanates from Him only) so His name is also Agni, (TAT) He is (ADITYA) Aditya means that can’t be broken into
pieces or shape of light. So, He is Aditya i.e., His name is Aditya (TAT) He is (VAAYUHU) the meaning of Vaayu being great powerful and holds the universe i.e., without air nobody can be alive, so based on said quality the name of God is also Vaayu. (TAT) He is (CHANDRAMAHA) as moon is a shape of calmness, serenity and pleasure. So, having the same quality, the name of God is also Chandrama. (TADEV) He is also (SHUKRAM) being the purest, always away from illusion and sins etc. His name is also Shukram (TAT) He is Braham being the greatest in the universe, His name is also Braham or Brahma (TAAHA) he is (AAPAHA), the meaning of Aapaha is also omnipresent, so being the God omnipresent, His name is also Aapaha. (SA, U) and He is (PRAJAPATIHI)
being a lord of universe and nurses the universe. His name is also Praja- public, Pati- Lord i.e., Lord of universe.

Yajurveda mantra 6/4 –

Oh! Man (INDRASYA) of soul (YUJYAHA) The God being omnipresent, His contact with all direction, time and space (SAKHA) because God gives all comforts to us, so He is our true friend (YATAH) by whom the soul (VRATANI) vrat i.e., to speak truth, to do justice and to do always
great pious deeds (PASPASHE) obtain the (VISHNOHO) Omnipresent God (KARMANNI) whose divine deeds are creation, nursing, justice etc., are there, you must (PASHYATA) realize or know Him.

Idea- He is the God Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe and again creates. He has created the bodies of all living-beings with the result all living-beings become able to do the deeds etc. If God could have not provided us the body in the womb of mother then we are soul and single soul is always without eyes, ears, nose, tongue, mouth, skin, body, hands and legs i.e., single soul is blind, deaf etc., and can’t do any deed.

So, as this mantra preaches that all human-beings must realize and know said divine deeds and mercy of Almighty God on all human-beings and other human-beings and in return to give Him thanks, we must only worship one Formless, Almighty, omnipresent God whose names based on
His unlimited divine qualities are unlimited. Here, we must also know that the mantra states that ‘Vipraha Bahudha Vandanti’. Vipraha means learned of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga philosophy, by which he has realized God. So, Vipraha state several names of God, not others i.e., the other person who have never studied Vedas, Vedic Sanskrit language like Ashtadhayayee, Mahabhashya, Nighantu, Shatpath Brahmin Granth are not capable to utter/pronounce the several divine names of God being ignorant of Vedas and divine Vedic Sanskrit grammar quoted above. In this connection, Rigveda mantra 1/164/45 preaches that there is difference between learned of Vedas and ignorant that learned of Vedas knows about naam, aakhyat, upsarg aur nipaat whereas ignorant does not
know the same. Therefore, one should contact the learned of Vedas and not ordinary man.

So, ignorant always use the words and names etc., which are always knowledge- less. In addition, I would like to state that Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh etc., are also mentioned in the Purann which are not accepted by learned of Vedas being against the Vedas. Vedas’ knowledge is eternal and everlasting, yet the present age of universe as well as Vedas is about One Arab, ninety seven crore years, whereas King Bhoj (I think 500-700 years ago, you may correct it). So, puranna are
man-made but Vedas are not man-made but God made. So, we have to believe on Vedas. I also paste my article for your information, please.

REVERT BACK TO VEDAS

It is the essence of Vedic spiritualism that whenever an aspirant enters into it then learned acharya preaches him that Vedas are the divine voice of God, which by the power of God, are originated in the heart of four Rishis, at the beginning of each creation. Learneds who indulge in deep study of Vedas know that Vedas are alive knowledge which emanate directly from God and hence they have not been written by anyone on the earth, in the shape of a book. Since, the said knowledge is applicable to all humans right from the beginning of earth hence Vedas are not sects.

Infact, Kapil Muni, after traditionally studying Vedas and realising the truth after hard practice of Ashtang Yog, also states the said truth in his Sankhya shastra sutra 5/51 that Vedas are alive knowledge hence ved mantras wield the power and self-capability to make such faithful aspirants, who are involved in deep and sincere study of Vedas, to understand the meaning and idea of ved mantras. This is the reason that Kapil Muni states that Vedas are self-proof to justify the truth. To elaborate, knowledge given in ved mantra or any fact stated through ved mantras does not require to be validated/authenticated by other shastras or any other book [but like our Rishi-Munis, Rajrishis
and their public used to study Vedas traditionally with faith and sincere efforts, process being the Vedic order of Almighty God, for all human-beings, the said practice is not in vogue at present
times].God knows when inhabitants of India would be able to adopt the said moral duties, entrusted by God, of studying and following the Vedas, which destroys all the effects of sorrows and makes our future bright with long life and also spreads international brotherhood along with other unlimited benefits.

Secondly, universe has been created about one Arab, ninety six crore, eight lakhs, fifty three thousand and one hundred and thirteen years ago.

So, logically, Vedas have also been created at this time-period. Rishi-Munis acquired Vedas’ knowledge by listening to Vedas traditionally from acharya and did agnihotra/yajyen, name jaap of God and Ashtang yog practice as preached in Vedas. In turn, they realised God and got the knowledge by doing pious deeds while leading the family life, making their future happy and bright, according to Vedas. Then they further educated people about the same because it has been
the benevolent nature of every learned person, who gains Vedic knowledge and experiences, divine pleasure, to share it with others. About five-six thousand years ago, Rishis wrote six shastras,
upnishads, Mahabharat (including Bhagwad Geeta) and Valmiki Ramayan much before all these books, based on the knowledge of Vedas. All these great writers – the Rishis, have eulogised Vedas in their literary works and based on their experience have admitted that Vedas are the divine voice of God.

That is why, Kapil Muni in his Sankhya shastra sutra 1/66 and Patanjali Rishi in his Yog shastra sutra 1/7 have shared their experience to educate us that the preach of any Rishi (Mantradrishta
Rishi) is also considered as a proof to reach at truth. And also the holy books written by the Rishis based on Vedic culture are also considered as proof called ‘Partah Pramann’, Vedas being Swatah
Pramann. Is it not our bad luck that the said secrets of Vedas are now mostly unknown to people and at this juncture, so called preach of any modern saint (sant who is against the Vedas) which does not tally with Vedic culture and which is definitely considered by learned of Vedas as totally false/unauthentic, is being accepted happily by the innocent public? If we consider impartially then we would find that the said matter is definitely harmful to the society, being against the Vedas because it does not come within the parameter of Vedic authenticity. Now, question is that who will bell the cat?

Duly indulged in illusion and mostly intention being after the materialistic articles etc., hardly anybody spares the time to study the literary works of Rishis like Upnishads, Shastras, Nighantu,
Ashtadhyayee, Shatpath Brahmin Granth and above quoted holy books which contain abundant proofs of ved mantras. Hence, when one will fail to study these great literary works of Rishis, under the guidance of learned acharya of Vedas. Then naturally anyone will cast doubt over the Vedas which implies non-awareness of Vedic knowledge. Nowadays, people study the so-called spiritual books written by ordinary people but not those written by Rishis. It shall not out of place to mention here that Atharvaveda mantra 7/105/1 preaches us to study Vedas or to study the spiritual books written by Rishi-Munis. The mantra strongly stresses not to study such books which are written by ordinary people. This secret has been made unknown to the public by several saints, that Vedas, Yajyen and yogabhyas are difficult and need not to be studied/performed. People do not know that God states to study Vedas and perform daily agnihotra/Yajyen, name jaap of God and practice of Ashtang yog under the expert guidance of learned acharya.

Due to ignorance of the same, people are not able to understand that they are doing sins by not obeying the God’s order of studying Vedas and doing yajyen etc. On the other hand, they are accepting the juicy lecture of saints, who are against the Vedas and who are mostly professional. Moreover, all the present sects along with their pious books have emerged about two thousand to two thousand and five hundred years ago. As compared to this, Vedas have been on this earth since
One Arab, ninety six crore, eight lakhs, fifty three thousand and one hundred and thirteen years ago. As mentioned above, Vedas are not a book. That is why, it has become difficult to repose faith in Vedas, in the absence of deep study under guidance of learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang Yog.

Yet, it is a well-known fact spread by the tapasvis, Rishis-Munis by their preach and above quoted spiritual books that Vedas are eternal and immortal knowledge which emanate directly from God. This fact is even supported by renowned scientists like Maxmuller and many others who believe in authenticity of Vedas. It is further a well-known fact that Vedas have been preserved in world libraries with respect and honour, accepting Vedas as first and the most ancient literature. I mean to say that Vedas are the first knowledge which came on the earth. It was spread orally through the tradition of acharya and disciple, right from the beginning of the earth, as mentioned above.

So, Vedas were remembered by heart by everyone. About five thousand three hundred years ago, for the first time, Vyas Muniji, who himself remembered the Vedas by heart traditionally, wrote them on Bhojpatra for the benefit of mankind. He completed the said pious task on the day of poornnima, about five thousand three hundred years ago. Since, then the poornnima has been named and remembered as Vyas Poornnima. Further, when printing press came into existence in sixteenth century, the Vedas written on Bhoj patra by Vyas Muniji were printed in the form of book which is called “Samhita” and not ved. Samhita means collection of ved mantras which has been printed. Half of the intellectuals of the world believe Vedas to be the divine voice of God and yet half of the intellectuals believe that Vedas have been written by some great scientist who has no parallel to himself in the entire world. But learned of Vedas know that God is the scientist of all scientists and no one is born even equivalent to such God nor shall be born in future. Then what to talk about being above the God. It is also pertinent to mention here that eighteen chapters of Bheeshma parv of Mahabharat have been secluded, named and printed as Bhagwad Geeta. Infact, Yogeshwar Sri Krishna Maharaj has praised and eulogised Vedas in Bhagwad Geeta. The above stated facts are known only to learned of Vedas. The saints who are ignorant of the knowledge of Vedas are naturally ignorant of the Vedas’ knowledge contained in Bhagwad Geeta and are therefore compelled not to explain the shloka of Bhagwad Geeta, briefly and truly wherein the reference and truth of Ved mantras exists. Why? Because they have not studied Vedas.

However, most of the present literary works and most of the saints are reiterating the fact that Vedas are divine voice of God. In this connection, Almighty, omnipresent, formless God has already stated in Atharvaveda mantra 12/5/40 that those who do not study Vedas but take a piecemeal (portion) of Ved mantras, only which suits them, by means of studying other books etc., or listening from anywhere else [not based on traditional study of Vedas] will be punished by me (God). Isn’t it surprising that yet no one is taking the initiative to study Vedas. On the contrary, those deeds which are against the Vedas and promote blind faith are being done on large scale. To experience the truth, we will have to revert back to Vedas.

Sanjeev: GURU JI PARNAM HOW TO COME OUT OFF SUBCONCIOUS THOUGHT

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. In this regard, I paste one of my answers –

To overcome the negative feelings there is only one process to gain eternal, everlasting, true Vedic knowledge. I mean to say all the matters of world including our human body have been created by three gunnas of prakriti i.e., raj, tam and satva gunn which are illusion and generate kaam, krodh, mad, lobh, ahankar etc. Our mann (mind) buddhi(intellect) are also made of prakriti, so have effect thereof i.e., of illusion. negative feelings are generated in our mind due to gunnas of prakriti and based on our previous and present life’s deeds –good or bad. Now, question arises how to overcome the negative feelings, same question was raised by Arjun to Sri Krishan Maharaj that his mind is not stable etc.

Sri Krishna says- Oh! Arjun concentration of mind is achieved by daily practice of Yog, Yajyen, name jaap and indulging in asceticsm. I mean to say, daily practice is required and when mind (mann) wanders, it should be again fixed with in the agya-chakra i.e., within two eyebrows. Secondly, the main thing is that meditation is the seventh stage of Ashtang Yoga, to reach it, one will’ve to cross six earlier stages duly perfected therein. The stages are- yam, Niyam, asan,
Prannayam, pratyahaar and dharnna. So, please also try to study Yog shastra (if you desire) and Ashtang yoga Philosophy mentioned therein, to do daily practice, to get perfection, as stated above. But one should never be demoralized. Secondly the said Vedic worship will never go in vain. It is counted in next birth and by this worship, a person gets next birth in better family where facilities to continue his worship exist (Bhagwad Geeta shloka 6/42 refers).

So, I mean to say, until a devotee starts real worship of God, the mind (mann) cannot be made stable and therefore as a result negative thinking can also not be overcome. Therefore, I would advise you to please at least start name jaap of God-OM, chanting of Gayatri mantra with its meaning word by word and daily both times hawan with Gayatri mantra. You should also read some Vedic literature and should try to spare time to listen to Vedic spiritual Cds containing bhajans and preach. List of books and cds is appended below out of which you can choose the material to study and listen, if you desire.
