Ashwin: Swamiji,my pranams to you. What is the best definition of consciousness according to Vedas? Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. The best definition of consciousness will be that we have faith in eternal knowledge of Vedas, which emanates directly from God and accordingly, we learn knowledge, do pious deeds and do worship.
Sanjay: Swamiji, I happened to come across dayanan saraswathiss book satyarath prakash where in he has given a different procedure of doing yajna which is not as u have suggested and in tat book he says that god passed on vedas in sanskrit so tat he is not partial to any particular nation or language…..but as per a famous saying goes Sanskrit is said to be the first language on earth……its totally in contrary with his words….please explain
Swami Ram Swarup: Dayanand Saraswati’s views are true and agreed but we have to discuss the matter and come to a conclusion that there are two types of Sanskrit languages- one is divine Sanskrit which is used in Vedas and second is worldly Sanskrit which is being taught in schools, university etc. Divine Sanskrit is eternal and everlasting whereas worldly Sanskrit is destroyed when final destruction of the creation occurs. You have expressed the views of Swami Dayanandji about divine Sanskrit only, please.
Reena: What is the difference between ‘anulom vilom’ and ‘sukh-purvak’ breathing techniques?
Swami Ram Swarup: Lom-vilom is a prannayam and is done by blocking one side nostril and then the nostril of other side whereas sukh-purvak breathing is the normal breathing by both nostrils.
