K: Swamiji we are two sisters and we don’t have any brother, can son-in-law do the agnidah? If he did it what will happen? Please guide me?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, everybody can do daah karma (agnidaah). Actually, daah karma is required to be performed for dead body. The alive soul which we are and whose daah karma cannot be performed, is gone out of the body already. In the ancient times all the people obeyed Vedic philosophy and they used to take sanyaas in the age of 75 years and naturally, they used to leave the body in forest, where no relatives were there. So, Vedas educate us that there is no difference between boy and girl and even girl can perform the daah karma. The result of pious deeds of daah karma is awarded to those who perform this ceremony and not to the departed soul. It is sad that due to lack of knowledge of Vedas, people do not know the eternal truth of children and they give preference to son only. Whereas, family is increased by giving importance to both i.e., boy and girl.

Raj: I want to do Gayatri Yagya at home. Please give me directions for it.
Swami Ram Swarup: I appreciate your views to start havan/yajyen in your home. It is an eternal worship of Almighty God mentioned in Vedas.

To start havan with Gayatri mantra, I paste my article below-

How to do havan

Please sit in the morning to perform havan. Havan must be performed in sunlight then it is more beneficial. Half a bowl of fresh water with a tablespoon must be with you with small twigs especially of mango tree if possible, havan samagri, ghee, camphor and match box must be there with you. Please sit on sukh asan on four times folded blanket and blanket must be kept on mat.

Sukh asan i.e., sit on duly folded feet in comfortable position. First close your eyes and concentrate between two eyebrows and chant Gayatri mantra three times within heart and not by mouth. Then open your eyes.

Take one spoon of water in right palm. Chant this mantra, OM AMRITO UPASTRANMASI SWAHA and drink the water which you have put in your palm. Then again take the spoon of water in right palm then chant the next mantra, OM AMRITA APIDHANMASI SWAHA, and drink the water. Then again take the water in right palm and chant the mantra, OM SATYAM YASHAH SHRI MAYI SHRI SHRAYTAAM SWAHA, and drink the water. Then wash the right palm while sitting, with the same water kept in bowl.

Now, put the twigs into havan kund with one piece of camphor and burn it. During this process chant the Gaaytri mantra again and again till such time the fire is lighted sufficiently. Then chant the Gayatri mantra and at the last add the word Swaha and offer ghee with tablespoon, quantity equivalent to 4 to 5 drops. And if you are alone then also offer in fire pinch of havan samagri from your right hand’s fingers and thumb avoiding forefinger. So this offering may be of 11 times, 21 times or 51 times as the time suits. It is the simplest way and I have not quoted the complete method of Yajyen. The havan with Ved mantras are always offered as the best worship of God only please. Do havan daily and both times.

Audio CD and VCD of doing havan and also a book- Yajyen- Karma Sarvashreshth Ishwar Pooja are available in which each mantra with its meaning and idea to do havan (in Hindi) is given. Book and CD can be sent on receipt of your postal address, (excluding postal charges) if you desire.

You are always welcome to put your query anytime, please. I also paste my another article to do jaap of Gayatri mantra.

It is said in shastras about Gayatri mantra – “Gayatri Gayatehe Stuti karmannaha” i.e., Gayatri mantra is sung to praise God. That is why, its name is Gayatri. It is a chchand. Chchand is sung. Secondly, Gaya means “Prann”. Jaap of Gayatri mantra is also done through Prannayam.

I am sure, your above quoted worship will please Almighty God as it is stated in Vedas.

B: Why I am suffering so much because of pitra dosha in my kundli, what is the simple method to get rid of it or remove it either by hawans or any other procedure

Swami Ram Swarup: Nobody suffers for Pitra dosh, kaal sarp dosh, mangal dosh, nadi dosh etc., because such matters are not mentioned in Vedas. So, being unauthentic, learned never accept it. Our ancient and present Rishi-Munis only worship a Formless God, who creates, nurses and destroys the universe.

Sandeep: What is aim of life? Lord krishnaa is paramaattma?,what is relation between lord krishnaa and maa gaytri?ORIGIN OF SOUL? ,hari bole
Swami Ram Swarup: Main aim i.e., only one aim of human life is to realise God/attain salvation, while discharging all moral duties by following Vedic path.

God is formless and Omnipresent, Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. God never takes avtar i.e., never takes birth. So, Yogeshwar Sri Krishna Maharaj was not God, but was an adorable dignitary who learnt and followed Vedas path.

Gayatri mantra is a Vedic mantra and Sri Krishna Maharaj used to recite the mantra.

There is no origin of soul but souls are eternal and everlasting.
