Simmi: Hello Sir, Thank you very much for giving answers to my questions. Swamiji, I want to ask one more thing, Sir, if as a soul, we enter in this human body or any living form, we start acting under the influence of mind, mann and senses that means I as an soul(I have no eyes, ears or any other senses), but still I have command on them. and for using them, I have my inner intelligence. Is it true or not Or Am I only this mind which is functioning because whatever i am feeling, seeing or experiencing is only with the help of mind as when we sleep, our mind is in sleep as well then there is no desire, no sorrow absolutely no feeling just as we are dead…when why cant i being in this body, come out of it and experience whatever, whenever or where ever I want to go? I think soul is nothing but a life force. B’coz when we die, you said, atma remains in a coma like form. That means, in its original form(no feelings, no desires absolutely nothing, just a life force). Then, how come I being a soul should face the consequences when i am not the doer but only a life force doing deeds under the influence of mind and senses. Or do I take births just to keep the life cycle of different forms ongoing?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, daughter. You are welcome, please. Yes, when a soul based on his previous lives’ deeds, good or bad, is provided with human or other bodies. But the soul does not act under the influence of mind, mann and senses i.e., based on the previous lives’ deeds and chitta vritti (faculty which receives knowledge from five senses and passes the same intellect is called Chitta and Chitta stores the effect of various karmas to be faced by soul in future at a proper time) the soul experiences, result of deeds in the shape of happiness and sorrows. The original form of the soul is the purest, alive matter and has knowledge and is not indulged in any kind of the illusion etc., but soul is attracted towards the rajo, tammo and sattva gunn of prakriti and further prakriti made materialistic articles and illusion etc., due to which soul forgets his original form of being purest etc. Therefore, soul experiences the result of previous lives’ deed as quoted above and soul also does new good and bad deeds in present life also which will have to be borne in the further births. In this connection, I paste my article regarding Karmas philosophy as under-

Three types of Deeds

There are three types of deeds (karmas) – sanchit, prarabhadh and kriyamann. Suppose one soul has to take birth (body). It means he has to face total number of deeds of his all previous lives and these deeds are called sanchit karmas but sanchit deeds are huge/unlimited and cannot be faced in one life. So the karmas which can be faced in one life are called prarabhadh (luck-destiny). So God has not made our luck at His own but Almighty God has considered the deeds which we have already done.

Yajurveda mantra 7/48 clarifies that human being is free to do any deed good or bad but God only awards the result. Now the balance deeds from sanchit deeds will be counted in the next life. Now the deeds which we do in our day today present life are called kriyamann.

If we do pious deeds according to Vedas, shastras and holy books and based on pious preaches of Rishi, Muni/learned saints then our all sanchit deeds are burnt and we can get salvation. Human beings are free in the matter of doing deeds good or bad. But result will be awarded by God. So we must worship and do pious deeds under guidance of a learned Guru. One should go always ahead for hard working, pious deeds, worship to make future bright himself. One should always work hard towards a right path.

Worship does not mean that we are free to discharge only our family duties, education, etc., but rather it is a sin. We have to get progress in both waysimultaneously i.e., spiritualism and worldly progress i.e., science, education, duties towards family etc. God creates the universe according to His eternal law framed in Vedas which are always unchangeable and unchallengeable. So we have to follow the law of God always to get long happy life.

The present deeds are done when our five senses i.e., eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin collect the outside worldly matter through seeing, listening, smelling, tasting and touching respectively. The matter is forwarded to mann. Mann thinks deeply and mann further forwards its conclusion to buddhi, intellect. Budddhi further sends it to soul. If buddhi is having the knowledge of Vedas through acharya and thus becomes the purest then the buddhi never accepts the illful decision of mind but the buddhi only sends his own pure decision to the soul. Thus, soul passes the pure order back to intellect (buddhi) to mind (mann) and mann to the karmendriyan to take action. If buddhi (intellect) is in influence of illusion, then it passes sinful views to soul and accordingly soul sends the message back in the above quoted sequence and karma indriyan does the sinful deeds.
Only a learned man or woman (soul) has command on mann, buddhi and senses. Otherwise, every soul has to act according to message received through mann and buddhi. So, until a devotee becomes learned of Vedas through acharya, no one can say that he has command on senses etc. Actually, he does deeds under the influence of mann and buddhi. When anyone takes sound sleep, it means his body is taking rest and not the soul. Soul never sleeps. A yogi is only empowered to come out of body and to enter into it again and no one else, please.

Atma remain in coma stage only after leaving the body in which stage, atma (soul) has no feelings, no desires etc., but because it is a stage of tammo gunn, so it never gives pleasure to soul. Soul when attains Samadhi and a person is called a yogi then in awakened stage the soul realizes no desire, no feelings etc., which gives divine pleasure to soul.Soul is the doer of good and bad deeds. That is why, soul bears the result of good and bad deeds in the shape of happiness and sorrows through non-live human-body. But body never feels sorrows etc. And if soul does not gain the vedic knowledge and attain Samadhi, the soul will automatically feel sorrows etc., otherwise, how a non-alive body can feel sorrow or pleasure etc., without soul being within it.

Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my son. The shloka sent by you does not seem to be ved mantra but some words from ved mantras have been inserted there in. However, when you come here and show me the original shloka in Sanskrit, then I will tell you correctly.
