Kushagra Sengar: Guruji, please enlighten me on the fact that is there any mention of Prophet Mohammad in any of our Vedas or any other scripture of aryans for that matter?
Swami Ram Swarup: No, please. In Vedas neither any history/story nor any proper noun has been used by Almighty God. I paste one of my answers on the same matter, please.

No scope of mentioning proper noun in Vedas

Kushagra Sengar: Guruji, please enlighten me on the fact that is there any mention of Prophet Mohammad in any of our Vedas or any other scripture of aryans for that matter?
Swami Ram Swarup: No, please. In Vedas neither any history/story nor any proper noun has been used by Almighty God. I paste one of my answers on the same matter, please.

No scope of mentioning proper noun in Vedas
Vedas is a divine knowledge where, there is no reference about anyone. I have clarified a number of times, the point that Vedas do not contain any history, story, fiction, falsehood, etc. In Vedas, proper noun has not been mentioned. Knowledge of Vedas emanates direct from God at the beginning of the earth which gives us education about three eternal matters-Rigveda tells about science, knowledge about all matters of universe. Yajurveda states about moral duties, pious deeds etc., and Samveda tells about worship of God, Ashtang yoga philosophy. Fourth Ved is Atharvaveda which justifies all the said knowledge and also tells about medical science. As regards Avtarwad, Vedas totally negate the view.

Vedas also tell that God never sends any Rishi-Muni, Tapasvi, preacher to preach spiritualism etc., to the public because God does not have any desire then how can God desire to send any preacher? If He will send preacher then He will have to preach the teacher about Vedas Himself. It means God will have to favour someone by selecting a particular person to give knowledge of Vedas to preach further. Then question arises that from where the desire originated in God when He is always free from desire and second question arises that when He has selected one person to preach to public then why could He not preach entire world when He has unlimited power?

It is an eternal law that God always originates the knowledge of four Vedas at the time of creation to four Rishis at the beginning of the earth. Hence, it should be noted that God selects four Rishis who were the best learned/tapasvis in previous universe but could not get salvation due to which they had to take rebirth. So, giving of knowledge by God to four Rishis is not favourism because God gives them knowledge for which the four Rishis were entitled because in the previous universe, they were about to get salvation but final destruction took place and they met with death. So, the study of all four Vedas reveals that no proper name has been used in Vedas. Vedas are eternal knowledge, unchangeable and unchallengeable. Rules and regulations of Vedas therefore cannot be ever changed.

Also, ancient Rishi-Munis as well as present Rishis perform Naamkarann sanskar (name ceremony) of child according to Vedas and they give holy name to child from Ved mantras. For example- Nowadays also the names like Brahmanand, Vishnudutt, Shiv Kumar, Mahesh, Aditya, Varunn, Sumedha, Arki, Archi, Richa, Manisha etc., which are the names taken from Vedas, exist. It does not mean that Vedas contain the description of the said name-holder. Similarly, Ram, Krishna, Sita, Radha are the names which have been taken from Ved mantras but it does not mean that such names in Vedas indicate anything about person. Names taken from Vedas have their own eternal divine meaning. For example: Sri Krishna’s name along with that of Balram has been taken from Vedas by Garg Acharya. Great Yajyen was organised and name ceremony according to Vedas was performed there.

Kushagra Sengar: Is it true that in the yester years entire human race used to follow the Sanatan Arya dharma?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, we all were originally Aryans and adopted Sanatan, Vedic path.

Kushagra Sengar: You mentioned in one of your answers that the concept of avtars do not exist in Vedas, so it must not be a true phenomenon, it is just a matter of faith in the society….. in the Bhagwad Geeta Shri Krishna states that “YADA YADA HE DHARMASYA GLANI BHAVTI BHRATA TDATMANAM SRAJAMYAHAM PARITYANA SADHUNAM VINASHSAYACH CH DUSHKRITA” which according to mass perception means that the lord incarnates whenever there is loss of truth and dharma ;to uphold and protect the dharma; to kill the unbelievers and save the followers of Vedas. Please explain, is the meaning of the shlok excepted in the society erroneous.
Swami Ram Swarup: No doubt, nowadays it has been a matter of faith so anyone can accept any path of religion but as far as eternal knowledge of Vedas is concerned, avtarwad doesnot exist therein and even Vedas state that avtarwad is not required, God being Almighty. Almighty means that He has unlimited powers and does not need any assistance to control the universe. When formless, omnipresent and Almighty God creates, nurses and destroys the universe without taking avtar or any assistance then to destroy the culprit why would He take avtar. I have clarified the meaning/idea of Bhagwad Geeta shloka quoted by you in my book- “SRIMAD BHAGWAD GEETA EK VEDIC REHASYA” written in Hindi worth Rs.400/- excluding postal charges (pages-739). I have explained first to six chapters along with words-meanings and idea of each shloka of Bhagwad Geeta. Sri Krishna Maharaj studied Vedas from Sandeepan Rishi along with Sudama. So Bhagwad Geeta is totally based on Vedas, please. Actually, Vyas Muniji wrote Mahabharat holy granth and Bhagwad Geeta is an extract of Bheeshma Parv of Mahabharat. So, he who studies Bhagwad Geeta must automatically be a student of Vedas first.

You see, philosophy of science would be understood by a scientist only. Similarly, Bhagwad Geeta would be understood well by the person who knows Vedas because the writer of Bhagwad Geeta i.e., Vyas Muniji was real philosopher of four Vedas and Ashtang Yoga Philosophy. So real meaning of above quoted shloka of Bhagwad Geeta would be understood based on the knowledge of Vedas, please. If you do not desire to study my above stated book then I would try to send the extract of the above quoted shloka please. But in the book I have explained deeply. I also paste one of my answers on Avtarwad.

Avtarwad
God is only one who creates the universe and no other can create the universe except God. Please think deeply is any one except God empowered for creation, etc.? The pious qualities of God are unlimited whereas qualities of soul, which resides in human body, are limited. That is why He is God. This fact is also mentioned by Rishi Patanjali in his Yog shastra sutra 1/24, “KALEASHKARAMVIPAKASHYAIHI APRAMRISHTAHA PURUSHVISHESHAHA ISHWARAHA” i.e., He who is not indulged in any sorrows/sufferings (kalesh), in any kind of deed (karma) and result thereof (vipakya), He is supreme in souls and is called Ishwar (God), whereas, soul is indulged in all the said matters according to deeds done in previous, and in the present life. So this is also a difference between God and souls and therefore soul can never be God based on the different qualities.

Amongst unlimited qualities of God, few may be enumerated-that God creates, nurses and destroys the universe. God is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent and Almighty, beyond description, beyond imagination, and beyond calculation. Nobody on the earth can deny such qualities, but these qualities are to be discussed and considered deeply and he who does the same is called MUNI as per Vedas and shastras.

Let us think over one quality of God – Being Almighty. Almighty means God has all powers and thus God, to control the universe and to do any kind of deed for the same, can not be dependent on another, at any cost, being Almighty. Again shastras say, which is a true saying too, that there must be reason behind for any creation, matter etc. God is a reason to create the universe. Parents are the reason to give birth to a child. Ravana took Sita forcefully which became a reason for war between Shri Ram and Ravana etc. So as per Vedas there must be a reason of avtar and after studying eternal knowledge of Vedas and thinking deeply, there seems no reason to take avtar by Almighty God. As in Yajurveda mantra 2/26, so is in Shwetashwaropnishad shlok 6/8 wherein it is mentioned that there is no reason to form a God and thus God is also formless i.e., nobody can make God but God creates universe from non-alive prakriti. Secondly the said Upnishad says that the
deeds of God of creation, nursing, and destruction of universe are eternal, natural, and automatic. So naturally God needs no avtar to destroy Kalyug, earth, or devils etc., being Almighty i.e., God has all powers and is independent. Not God but only His powers are enough to control, create, nurse, destroy the universe. That is why Upnishad says that God has no desire to create etc., but it is eternal and natural and this sort of desire is named “IKSHAN” and not desire to create etc.
Suppose God has to kill a devil and He takes avtar and God kills the devils by arrow etc. It means God is not Almighty and independent because God has taken help of Avtar (Human body) and arrow, gun, etc., which is impossible.

This all I have told based on fundamental law of eternal knowledge of four Vedas. Yet if anybody says about avtar then it is their own views and they are satisfied with their views and can not be commented because they could have been realizing at their own but so far as eternal knowledge of Vedas is concerned, Avtar is not possible.

Bhargav Bhatt: I need to know that in adyatmic jivan (road) we need to left everything… and in Geeta Lord Krishna said that do karma and fight for life. If we look in past all rishi and gurus are married. So how and why to step in adhyatm for self realization? “Brahm satya jagat mithya” then why to marry or why to leave with family?
Swami Ram Swarup: In the spiritual life nothing is required to be left including moral duties etc., as said in Yajurveda mantra 40/2 but the illusion is required to be destroyed for which eternal, true religion mentioned in Vedas is required to be adopted, please. Three educations are required to be adopted in the Vedas:
(1) Gyan-kand (including science, matters etc.)
(2) Upasana kand (including true worship of God)
(3) Karma kand (including the true form of deeds).
All the said three education are adopted in family life while discharging our moral duties towards family, society and nation but one who becomes real ascetic may leave the world for worship alone. Jagat exists so Jagat is not mithya otherwise nobody could get living body, house, food, air etc. Mere saying would not serve the purpose, please. If, someone desires to marry then he must marry according to Vedic path and if someone does not wish to marry then he may not do so accordingly. Definition of “SATYAM BRAHMA JAGAT MITHYA” has been defined based on four Vedas in my books “VEDANTA AND ETERNAL PHILOSOPHY OF VEDAS- PART I and PART II” worth Rs.20/- and Rs. 20/- = Rs. 40/- excluding postal charges.

Dr. Harish Arya: Is it sin if we kill the organism that give harm to us like snake?
Swami Ram Swarup: No, please. It is not a sin to kill the snakes, mosquitoes, flies, scorpions and other harmful insects/animals if invade your premises otherwise they will harm the most valuable human life.

Dr. Harish Arya: How can we stop our breathing through the yoga?
Swami Ram Swarup: Breathing is stopped by doing practice of Prannayam under the advise of an experienced yoga philosopher. Prannayam should not be done without taking guidance of the said acharya.

RS: I read and re read books written by you. You have said that a soul once listen to Veda and do astanga yoga gets attuned to it and enjoy it. So same pleasure I get. Guru ji why we should not pluck the leaves of plants at night? Further I have little insight of Islam as I am trying to read it, the Arabic real version and its interpretation by ex-Muslims. It is extremely violent. Further Swami Dayanand Saraswati has proved this point in his shastrath with Muslim scholars. I have read his biography and his debates. It is diametrically opposite to Vedas and incites violence to anybody who does not worship Allah. Further guruji, as you have said daan should be given to a yogi and a human being should practice it, in my view you are the lone yogi in whom I have faith, I do wish to donate for the cause whatever I can give, after retirement I have saved money and getting interest on it and please allow me to get this merit of your seva in this way. A great siddha yogi (did tapasya for 12 years ) used to say on account of merit of past births we come in contact with yogis and saints and we should serve them in whatever way we can. Guru ji, I intend to come and meet you in April and attend yoga camp please direct me in this regard. Further I request for your permission to write excerpts of your book Vedas a divine light and forward to a website. Your valuable knowledge of Vedas will enlighten many yearning souls and I do want to work for revival of our Vedic culture which is presently in sad state.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you and your family. The night is always meant for rest. So, better if we do not pluck the leaves of trees at night. However, when urgent requirement (i.e., if required for medicinal cases) arises then after remembering God by reciting Gayatri mantra, the leaves can be plucked. Nowadays, nobody can do anything in the matter of sects. So, one should always try to follow the eternal, true path to get peace and to spread it internationally.

My dear daughter, I appreciate your Vedic views for donation. Let the time come then I shall advise you accordingly, please. As regards, your coming to this place, we all always welcome you all family members.

Yes, you may please go ahead regarding sending of excerpts, of the book Vedas A divine light to the concerned website. My blessing to you, my daughter for a long, happy life for the best use of spreading Vedic knowledge to human beings.

Sagar: Do Vedas allow polygamy?
Swami Ram Swarup: No, Vedas never allow polygamy. Rather, it is a great sin and God punishes for the said sin.

NK: If the husband has the habit of lieing and after too much interrogation he admits he likes than what should be done? He says sorry for being not truthful and gives the reason as to avoid a fight or argument so he lied. This has happened so many times and he promises not to do again. It makes me very sad and depressed as to think that he must be hiding so many other things which I do not even know about. I lose faith in him and after some time he admits his mistake and promises to improve but does it again. I have tried my best to explain him that how it affects our relationship and trust and faith. He listens to it and after sometime does it again. Swami ji how should I behave in such a situation and how can i maintain happiness at home as this all makes me very very sad and I fight with him and not talk to him for days. My children hear and see all this Swami ji I need your advise. What should I do to keep my mental state stable. Please help me.
Swami Ram Swarup: There is only way to excuse him, please. But the acceptance of false statement is only the acceptance if the person repents and promises not to repeat it again. Actually, what happens is that man or woman indulge in illusion and their perceptions, senses and mind start seeking enjoyment from sins and thus it becomes very difficult from them to cut off from the source of enjoyment. He/She is only the brave person who cuts himself from such enjoyment and makes firm decision to not to repeat such recurrence, then only peace can be maintained. Sins and pious act is a personal matter. If you are upset then your husband is always deceiving you then you will have to wield patience and will have to concentrate towards your household duties, nursing children and even look after your husband. But, your good advise towards your husband should never be stopped which should always be given in loving manner otherwise there will be harm to the family and children.

So, to maintain the relation between children, husband and wife, you will have to give sacrifice, my daughter. I may also tell you that your efforts to make your husband able for leaving the sins will never go in vain. You should chant Gayatri mantra daily both times. Better if you also do hawan with Gayatri mantra to obtain the blessings of God which shall immensely help you and is most essential for all human beings.

Your anger will make the problem worse, please. Person, like your husband when will be badly treated due to his sins will automatically be taught a lesson. So, please keep peace and wait. One more thing, one should always do his duties and pious deeds to achieve the real goal but selflessly. So, please do not concentrate on the result but concentrate on your pious deeds, advise and good dealing with your husband. This will give you mental peace when you will never think over result/target. Target must be there but never think again towards the target.

Rajamuneeswaran: What is meaning of word “SWAHA”? My daughter name is SWAHA. Please explain the meaning.
Swami Ram Swarup: The meaning of the word Swaha is pious one, please. In this connection my article is pasted below. There are 7 meanings of Swaha. Swaha means a true deed. So when we study Vedas and offer aahuti in havan kund/bedi with Ved mantras then we are doing true deed, the result of which will remain with us to save us from sorrows, etc. Swaha means whatever is in our heart, the same is in our speech. Swaha means we must not use for our own purpose, any article or good entrusted in our custody by someone. Swaha means the purest views of heart, etc.

So when the ancient or present Rishis/public do the holy Yajyen with Ved-mantras, the above quoted result is blessed by God to them and thus they get long, happy life by performing the best pious deed i.e., Yajyen. Now, most of the saints have been telling not to perform the Yajyen and thus we have been debarred from the above quoted divine good result with other several good qualities. So we must listen the Vedas from an acharya to know the fact.

Vishal: I want to know like written in some scriptures of Kabir sahib is that Brhama, Vishnu and Mahesh etc. not known as the Almighty God? This question is confusing me so much for last some years. Please tell me what’s the actual picture?
Swami Ram Swarup: Rigveda mantra 1/164/46 states that God is one and will ever remain one being unchangeable but His names based on His divine qualities are unlimited. So Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh are the names of God. For example the meaning of Brahma is the most supreme power who is only Almighty God. Vishnu – the meaning of Vishnu is omnipresent, who is only Almighty God. Mahesh-the meaning of Mahesh is the creator, who is Almighty God.

Names of God
In the Vedas there is only one God but has so many names according to his qualities. For example His name is OM which means the God is the saviour of all. His name is SURYA (sun) i.e., sun has light but sun takes light from God because God has the supreme and Divine light of His own. His name is Chandrma (moon). Moon gives peace, calm, cold and charming light so the name of God is also Chandrma (moon) because God gives peace, calm etc., to those who worship etc., etc. we all people do not worship thirty three Goddesses as briefed above. Shiva means Kalyan i.e., happiness, welfare, good fortune and benediction etc., i.e., He who does welfare to human beings, He is Shiva and He is only one Almighty God said above. Vishnu means He who is everywhere and He is only one Almighty God.

Rig-Veda mantra 1/164/46 says,” EKAM SADRUPA VIPRAH BAHUDHA VADANTI,” i.e., EKAM SATAM means truth is one i.e., God is one but VIPRAH = Rishis, Munis who were/are learned of Vedas, BAHUDHA VADANTI utter so many names of God mentioned in Vedas like AGNIM YAMAM MATRISHVANAM AAHUHU meaning-the name of God are Agni, Yam, Matrishva and AAHUHU means “says”. In Yajurveda mantra 32/1 the names of God stated are AGNI, ADITYA, VAAYU, CHANDRMA, SHUKRAM, BRAHM, AAPAH, and PRAJAPATIHI ETC, ETC, ETC. I would explain the meaning of above all the names of God in brief due to shortage of time and space.

AGNI= agrini i.e., at the top or who comes first or who was before the creation and according to the said qualities, here the meaning of Agni pertains to God i.e., God is eternal and therefore exists always before the creation etc. that is why Rigveda mantra 1/1/1 says AGNIM Eedey – in the said mantra the meaning of Agni is God according to the qualities and situation. Meaning of Eedey means desire. Therefore the meaning of Agnim Eedey is , “I am desirous of God. Similarly YAM means controller of universe, Matrishva means air i.e., like the air God gives life to human beings. Aditya means which can not be broken into pieces, Chandrma means like moon God gives calm/peace, Shukram means Almighty, Braham means the superior/the biggest/the greatest etc., in the universe, Aapah means omnipresent, Prajapatihi means one who nurses the universe. So all the said meanings have the qualities of God and hence the name of God in the
Vedas, but these are always uttered by Rishis Munis, who are learned of Vedas, as mentioned in Rig-Veda mantra quoted above. Therefore only Rishis Munis who are learned of Vedas, utter or tell the holy name of God mentioned in Vedas and those who do not know Vedas can never utter the above holy names of God. But the said holy names, on the other hand, are even of surprising nature to them.

One thing more, the holy names of God in the Vedas are according to the nature, knowledge and deeds (God creates, nurses, destroys and controls the universe etc.) of Almighty God. Therefore those names are eternal and countless. So I am not able to mention here infinite names of Almighty God being beyond imagination, beyond calculation and beyond description etc., and we have to worship the said Almighty God whose description is in four Vedas, whose study has mostly been made stopped by the present saints who were against the Vedas and speak only charming stories etc., and never tells about Vedas. Whereas the description of Vedas is in Geeta, Ramayana,
six shastras, Upnishads and all ancient holy books. The reason why the present (most of them) saints do not quote Vedas is that they do not study the Vedas, do not do Yajyen and do not obey Ashtang Yoga Philosophy mentioned in Vedas which was too adopted by Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Mata Sita, King Harishchandra, king Dashrath and their subjects/ public etc. Therefore we must be aware of false prophets.

Alvin Lal: Pranaam Guruji, Making a request here Guruji, I understand you very busy. When will you write Valmiki Ramayan, Ek Vedic Rhaysya?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Your views are highly appreciated. With the support and inspiration of all readers, I shall sure try to write: Valmiki Ramayan- Ek Vedic Rahasya in near future, please. Please confirm if you have received my book Bhagwad Geeta – Ek Vedic Rahasya. If not it will be sent to you soon on the receipt of your postal address please.

Alvin Lal: Pranaam Guruji, since God has no form, is omnipresent and omniscient. And since Vedas states that Man and Woman are equal, why is God referred to as HE is almost all your texts and other texts in the world, when God could just as easily be SHE? Since he has no form, nobody knows.?
Swami Ram Swarup: He and She as you know are masculine and feminine genders. The said pronouns are used based on the living bodies only i.e., for man and woman similarly for animals, birds etc. As you know God has no body so why He could be said She? He is used for Him because He is acceptable only in masculine gender why? Because at the time of creation as per Rigveda mandal 10 sukta 129 and Yajurveda mantra 31/3 and 4 a part of power of Almighty God acts in prakriti being female and a non-alive element and the universe is created. That is why in Vedas, the God is called “Pita” i.e., father and not mother.

Om Prakash: Namaskar, tell me about somras/soma tree in RIGVED A DRINK FOR DEVTA INDRA.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. The word ‘Som’ has been defined in Vedas as “divine pleasure” experienced by a yogi when he realizes God in the “Dharam-megh” Samadhi. Dharam megh Samadhi is attained after deep study of Vedas and hard practice of Ashtang Yoga Philosophy doing holy Yajyen, regular contact with learned acharya of Vedas. It is sad that due to lack of study of Vedas, the meaning of pious word “Som” has been defined as intoxicating drink at one’s own discretion.

Also the meaning of Som is green vegetation. Som is also the name of Almighty God and we offer aahuti in Yajyen reciting “Om Somaye Swaha” for God. The literal meaning of Som is “Form of divine pleasure”.

Bhupinder: Respsected Swamiji, please clear my doubt that does a soul, alongwith Suksham Sharir remember all the previous births when it leaves the present body?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. No, please. The soul when leaves the body carries the effect of deeds done on his chitta but forgets the same.

Aditya: Explain how decent working conditions can lead to better working conditions.
Swami Ram Swarup: When a person starts doing pious deeds with a firm decision then one will have to have faith in him and he will continue to do pious deeds in future as well. Really, the decent working conditions under decent administration may lead to better working conditions in future as well. However, the said system may be broken at any time due to indulging in illusion. So, one should always try to be Ram, Sita who did hard Tapasya to overcome the illusion and then they always did pious deeds. The illusion gets over by listening to eternal knowledge of Vedas, doing daily hawan/Yajyen, practice of Ashtang Yoga, name jaap of God daily under guidance and regular contact with learned acharya of Vedas. So when we take birth in human life then God states in Yajurveda chapter 40 that one should attain progress in science, pious deeds, discharging moral duties etc., and spiritualism as well.

Arnab Das: Dear Sir, I want to know the Rules and Regulations regarding Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. Is there any rule regarding smoking/drinking/consumption of non-veg, etc.?
Do I need to perform Yajyen everyday or just chanting the Mantra 108 times will do? In case Yajyen is mandatory, please let me know the process of how to do Yajyen. Please let me know all rules applicable for Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.
Swami Ram Swarup: Drinking, smoking, consumption of non-vegetarian are strictly prohibited in Vedas. As regards Mahamritunjaya jaap, my article to this effect is pasted below:

Mahamrityunjaya mantra
Mahamrityunjaya name has been originated by we people, otherwise it is Yajurveda mantra 3/60. So we must say that we are reciting Yajurveda mantra but it has been a tendency to say it as mahamrityunjaya mantra. It can never be started with any other shloka or mantra etc., because Ved mantras emanate direct from God at the beginning of the earth. So Ved mantras have not been written by a Rishi-Muni, man, woman etc., as Almighty, Omnipresent, Formless God is unchangeable. So are the mantras. The Knowledge of Ved mantras is eternal, immortal and unchangeable.

In the said mantra, we pray to God that Oh God! I perform your Yajyen, may my life be long i.e., 100 years or upto 400 years as the Vedas say. However, no one can cross the age of 400 years please. So, everybody must recite and do Yajyen from the said mantras himself because in the mantra we are praying to God that Oh God! I am myself doing your worship by Yajyen and no one else on my behalf.

“TRIYAMBAKAM YAJAMAHE SUGANDHIM PUSHTIVARDHANAM URVARUKMIV BANDHANAANMRITYORMUKSHEEYA MAAMRITAAT.”
(Rigveda mantra 7/59/12)

“TRIYAMBAKAM YAJAMAHE” is the Rigveda Mantra number 7/59/12. Its meaning is (TRIYAMBAKAM) whose knowledge remains constant in past, present and future. Actually “AMBAKAM” means eyes, TRI means three i.e., He who has three eyes. Here three eyes means past, present and future, the three phrases of time i.e., whose knowledge remains unchangeable in past, present , future times and who is present and sees past, present and future.

(YAJAMAHE) do daily worship ((SUGANDHIM), who makes us the best and the purest (PUSHTIVARDHANAM) who increases the strength of our body and soul.
Meaning:- We must daily worship the God whose knowledge remains unchangeable in past, present and future and who is present and sees the past, present and future. He makes us the best and the purest and increases the strength of our body and soul.

Idea:- Yajyen and Ashtang Yoga Practice is the best worship of God. So, we must daily do Yajyen and Ashtang Yoga Practice.

(BANDHANAAT) connected to (LATAA) creeper (URVARUKMIV) like a ripened cucumber (MRITYOHO) from death (MUKSHEEYA) get liberated.

Meaning:- With the grace of God, may I get liberated from death like a ripened cucumber which gets released from the creeper.

Idea:- The cucumber automatically gets separated from the creeper when it gets fully ripened. It becomes tasty even. Similarly, by the worship of God i.e., while performing Yajyen and Practice of Ashtang Yoga Philosophy, I may also attain full disease free age i.e., hundred years or more and get free from the death automatically.

(MA MUKSHIMAHEE) may we never be separated from faith, belief (AMRITAM) from supreme, divine pleasure of final liberation.

Idea:- This human body is blessed by God to do daily Yajyen wherein knowledge of Vedas is also listened from Brahma i.e., learned acharya who is a philosopher of four Vedas and Ashtang Yoga . Our faith and belief must never diminish from following the said path of worship to get final liberation.

Main Idea:- In the above mantra , we pray to God. There are two types of prayers-
1. Prayer emanates direct from God in the shape of Ved mantras like above mantra which are eternal, true and the best.
2. Prayers which are man-made in the shape of so many shlokas etc., written by human-beings i.e., saints etc.
No doubt that the prayers which emanate from God are the best. So, the human being must know the deep philosophy of the Vedas and must worship God and must do prayer of God as mentioned in Vedas which will ever be beneficial for all mankind, we must only worship the God whose description has been given in the Vedas by God Himself. Who can know God as God knows Himself? So, description of God in Vedas is eternal, true and the best.

Secondly, prayer is not enough. God states in Vedas (Refer Rigveda mantra 1/10/5) that one must also do hard, pious deeds to fulfil one’s prayer otherwise prayer will not help the person. Based on the Philosophy of Vedas, nowadays the true phrase is famous-“God Helps Those Who Help Themselves”. So we must ourselves do hard, pious deeds according to our prayer. Worship for the God/Gods against the Vedas are always sorrowful.

So the idea of the above mantra is clear wherein it is mentioned “TRIYAMBAKAM YAJAMAHE” i.e., Oh! God, we do Yajyen (worship) ourselves. So we can never depute any other person to perform the Yajyen from the above Ved mantra because mantra states to perform the Yajyen ourselves. Mostly, due to lack of knowledge of Ved mantras, we engage some other person to perform Yajyen which according to Vedas, can never be beneficial.

Because “YAJAMAHE” is “ATMANEPAD DHATU”. Dhatu means root word. It means YAJAMAHE word is applicable to personal matter. So we will have to perform Yajyen, personally. In Vedas its name has not been mentioned as “Mahamritynjaye mantra”.
However, if somebody has stated its name as Mahamritynjaye jaap then it makes no difference if we are aware of the truth-
That it is Rigveda mantra 7/59/12 (quoted above) and also Yajurveda mantra 3/60. So the study of Vedas and above quoted mantras reveals –“TRIYAMBAKAM YAJAMAHE” i.e., we must perform Yajyen with Ved mantras ourselves and do hard pious deeds i.e., listening of Vedas , performing of Yajyen and practice of Ashtang Yoga Philosophy daily to fulfil the prayer mentioned in above mantras i.e., Oh! God may I be liberated from death and get divine pleasure of final liberation. The hard, pious deed must be carried out while discharging all our moral duties as mentioned in Yajurveda mantra 40/2.

God especially states in Samveda to do hawan/Yajyen daily both times.

How to do havan
Please sit in the morning to perform havan. Havan must be in sunlight then it is more beneficial. Then half a bowl of fresh water with a tablespoon must be with you with small twigs especially of mango tree if possible, havan samagri, ghee, camphor and match box must be there with you. Please sit on sukh asan on four times folded blanket and blanket must be on mat.

Sukh asan i.e., sit on duly folded feet in comfortable position. Then first close your eyes and concentrate between two eyebrows and chant Gaytri mantra three times within heart and not by mouth. Then open your eyes.

Take one spoon of water in right palm. Chant this mantra, OM AMRTO UPASTRANMASI SWAHA and drink the water which you have put in your palm. Then again take the spoon of water in right palm then chant the next mantra, OM AMRITA APIDHANMASI SWAHA, and drink the water. Then again take the water in right palm and chant the mantra, OM SATYAM YASHAH SHRI MAYI SHRI SHRAYTAAM SWAHA, and drink the water. Then wash the right palm while sitting, with the same water kept in bowl.

Then put the twigs into havan kund with one piece of camphor and burn it. During this process chant the Gayatri mantra again and again till such time the fire is lighted sufficiently. Then chant the Gayatri mantra and at the last add the word Swaha and offer ghee with tablespoon, quantity equivalent to 4 to 5 drops. And if you are alone then also offer in fire pinch of havan samagri from your right hand’s finger and thumb avoiding forefinger. So this offering may be of 11 times, 21 times or 51 times as the time suits. It is the simplest way and I have not quoted the complete method of Yajna. The havan with Ved mantras are always offered as the best worship of God only please. Do havan daily and both times.

You are also advised to read spiritual book” Yajyen –karma Sarvashreshth Ishwar Pooja” in Hindi worth Rs.65/- excluding postal charges wherein full Ved mantras with each meaning of each word , ideas and method to do hawan has been described. The book will be very beneficial for you and can be sent on receipt of your postal address if you desire.

Animesh Sharma: Where does the soul come from, for the cloned sheep, since all of us have seen one more sheep taking birth with the methods of cloning biologically?
Swami Ram Swarup: Three matters i.e., God (alive), souls (alive) and Prakriti (non-alive) are called swayambhu, eternal, immortal. The said matters are not made from any matter etc. From God and souls who are alive matters, nothing can further be made. But from Prakriti which is non-alive, the world is created by God. During final destruction, Prakriti and souls remain in shelter of Almighty God i.e., with in God. After creation, when soul leaves the body, soul remains under control of sutratma vayu i.e., under the control of Almighty God.

After Death

Yajurveda mantra 3/55, says, “DEVAIYAH JANAH NAH PUNAH MANAH DADATU” i.e., by blessings (preach and true education of Vedas) may learned Acharya give us next birth of human being so that we may again be able to learn the truth of Vedas and to get salvation. So one must always adopt true path by which he gets rebirth of human being to continue the real
spiritualism to get salvation etc., because Atharvaveda mantra 9/10/16 further says that human being who has done pious deeds and adopted true path they get pious human body in the next birth, otherwise soul gets the lowest/contemptible body, like animals, birds etc. Mantra is APAANG PRAANGETI SWDHAYAA GRIBHITAH AMARTYO MARTYENAA SAYONIHI. TA SHASHVANTA VISHUCHINA VIYANTA NYA NYAM CHIKYURN NI CHIKYURNYAM.

Soul according to its good or bad deeds(APANGETI) takes bodies of animals, birds, insects etc., and (PRANG) bodies of Rishis, Munis, i.e., (uuch Yoni) best bodies after leaving the present body. The soul (SWDHAYAA
GRIBHITAH) duly attached with its own power of taking birth according to pious deeds and sins, enters other bodies (AMARTAYAH) though the soul is away from death, being immortal but after death of bodies, takes new
bodies. These ideas of Vedas has very well been mentioned in Bhagwad Geeta shlok 2/20 wherein Yogeshwar Shri Krishna says (AJO NITYAH SHASHWATOAYAM PURAANNO NA HANYTE HANYAMANNE SHARIRE ) i.e., the soul is (AJAH NITAYAH SHASHWATOH) never takes birth and is
eternal (NAHANYATE HANAYMANNE SHARIRE) in fact after death of body too soul is never dead being immortal. (TASHASHVANTA) this process of death and birth of bodies and souls is eternal.

(VISHUCHINA VYANTA) soul and bodies go far away to different directions [soul goes to Savita etc., {given below} according to Yajurveda chapter 39 and then takes birth and gets another body and five elements of body go to space and are mixed within air, fire etc., according to Yajurveda mantra 40/15] (ANYAM NICHIKYHU) many learned know about this fact (ANYAM NICHIKYHU) another who lack knowledge of Vedas, do not know the fact, i.e., we mostly know our body but not ourselves, i.e., soul. Death is sure i.e., the body will have to be cremated one day.

In Atharvaveda mantra 8/8/11 ‘Yamdut’ means = ‘YAM’ means God, and ‘dut’ means storm, cyclone, flood, earthquake, heavy rains, etc., etc., in mantra the air is Yam. So when a soul is to leave the body then by the power of God, sutratma air enters the body and takes the soul out of it then goes to Savita, etc.

In 39th chapter of Yajurveda the process of this cremation is mentioned. This process is also called as “NARMEDH YAJYEN”, “PURUSH MEDH YAJYEN” and “DAH KARAM” and “ANTEYESHATI KARAM”. Atharvaveda mantra 10/8/26 says “YEH CHAKAR SAH JAJAR” means He (God) who makes the body, He destroys the same one day. Sense of Yajurveda mantra 39/5 is that when the soul leaves the body then the soul wanders in so many places, takes another body according to its previous deeds (karmas). Yajurveda mantra 39/6 says that the soul after leaving the body, on the first day goes to Savita (sun), second day agnihi (fire), third Vaayu (normal air), fourth Aditya, fifth chandrma (moon), sixth ritu (seasons), seventh marutah, eighth brihaspati (tiniest air), ninth mitrah (breathing), tenth varunah (udan air), eleventh indrah (electricity), twelfth Vishvedevah (in all divine qualities). Then, after wandering in sky, gets body according to previous deeds. So these twelve days are
completed, then after 13 days the soul takes another body. Rigveda mandal 10 sukta 135 says that normally soul after getting body faces the result of its past lives’ deeds and under influence of illusion (duly attracted towards illusion) does sins and again gets birth to face the sins. The soul is immortal and always separate from body. When an aspirant meets with a learned Acharya and gets spiritual education, then the fourth mantra says that the soul gets salvation.

Cloning
God made bodies, sun, moon, air, electron, proton, tree, space etc., etc. Is there any scientist who can even make a leaf of mango tree or any tree, then what to talk of other unlimited matters made by God? Science is respected because all science matters are emanated from Vedas and are useful to all human beings.

At the time of beginning of earth God makes all human, animal/birds’ bodies first which are non-alive. Then He places the souls within the bodies according to previous deeds and this is done by God only and not by anybody else. Can any scientist create a body by cloning without taking genes from a body already made by God? And not only clone, scientists have to take other measures also in which, the matters are taken by scientist which are made by God. Secondly only those genes will be developed which have soul.

You see when soul is out from a body that body is to be destroyed because the body starts giving smell etc. Scientist cannot make genes or the matters used in cloning.

God is not working according to any will of human. He is a commander and does not fulfill the requirement of human as a servant. The knowledge and deeds of the Almighty God are natural. If one can devote time to study science then, why has he no time to study spiritualism and wonderful acts of God which are beyond calculation and beyond imagination?

A scientist works on cloning is by the grace of God – the scientist has mind, body and soul within him. A mad cannot be scientist and a scientist cannot make mind.

Animesh Sharma: Dear guruji, is it true that for married people, pranayam is not an option of God realization and also for other benefits that pranayam brings along including the power of concentration and good health since the married people are not able to follow brahmcharya in there lives?
Swami Ram Swarup: No, please. It is false to state that prannayam is not an option for God realization as regards married people. Ashtang Yoga Philosophy mentioned in four Vedas is eternal and applicable for Brahamcharies, grahasthis, vanprasthis and sanyasis for the purpose of realization of God. One should make contact with learned acharya of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga Philosophy. One should learn Vedas from him, performance of Yajyen, name jaap of God and practice of Ashtang Yoga even while being in family life.

Animesh Sharma: Dear Guruji, you say that according to the Vedas God has ordered us to take vegetarian food only. Although I am a vegetarian but just wanted to know that if this is the case how come many of the great masters like sants happen to be non vegetarian?
Swami Ram Swarup: Non-vegetarian food/addiction etc., is only taken in the absence of knowledge of four Vedas, daily Yajyen, hawan, name jaap and practice of Ashtang Yoga . Mainly, the said non-vegetarian is taken in the absence of thorough study of Vedas wherein God has strictly prohibited the same. As stated in Atharvaveda kand 12, what happens that mostly the other spiritual granths are studied leaving behind the Vedas. When other spiritual granths are studied which were written by Rishis, Munis based on eternal Vedic philosophy then it becomes difficult to know the real meaning/idea of the shlokas of the holy granths. Secondly, mostly it is tried that some portion of Ved mantras is taken which suits the person, to advocate the false meanings of the holy granths made in the absence of knowledge of Vedas, hence the illusion. To even think that Sri Ram and Sri Krishna Maharaj took non-vegetarian is itself a great sin on the earth and God never excuses. The great dignitaries – Sri Ram, Sri Krishna Maharaj totally followed the Vedas and attained the supreme title of “Bhagwan”.

Alvin Lal: What is the process of punishment and reward by God, i.e. what are the steps involved? Does God direct soul to reward or punish itself ? Or how does it work?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. God is one where as souls are uncountable. As many bodies as we see around us, one soul resides in each body. God is ever away from illusion, philosophy of deeds to be faced, He being the purest and formless. Whereas, every soul is liable to face the result of deeds-good or bad. So, soul cannot punish himself for the result of his bad deeds (as you know nobody wants sorrows) but it is only Almighty God who punishes the soul for his bad deeds and bestows pleasure on soul for pious deeds. It is also only the God who based on the Vedic knowledge gained by the soul and based on Tapasya done by soul, according to Vedas; who gives the title to a soul of Brahmin, Rishi, Muni and salvation vide Atharvaveda mantra 4/30/3. So, being omnipresent God always watches deeds of every soul and the souls do not watch because soul is not omnipresent.

As stated in Shwetashwataropnishad shloka 6/8- the knowledge, power and deeds of Almighty God are natural i.e., take place automatically, under the supreme power of God. So, the punishment/rewards are automatic and thus no need of direction etc.

Ajit: I believe strongly in the existence of Almighty God. I have certain queries which you may like to answer please:
A. Is there a mention of Beef eating in Holy Quran? I feel it is the part of basic of all religion Vedas so naturally there would not be any mention of Beef Eating. Please clear this doubt, by mentioning the para, why it is there or not there.
B. I do not fear GOD but love GOD. Is the statement qualify for Vedic philosopy. Should we be God fearing. What the others religious books say?
C .Do you have account of Indian history when Indians were forcibly converted to Islam esp in Western part of Earstwhile Bharat? What was the religion of the Afgani and Pakistanis before conversion?
D. Can you give me the details of different sects in Muslim community like sunny, shia, ahmedia etc. Any resemblanec to Hindu caste system?
5. TRUTH must prevail. When there will be awakeing about the truth of Vedas to Hindus? When these ASURS will vanish from earth?
Swami Ram Swarup: (A) Yes, please. There is mention in holy Qurann of beef eating but in four Vedas, Upnishad, Mahabharat, Bhagwad Geeta shastras and other ancient holy granths written by Rishis the non-vegetarian/any addiction is strictly prohibited. It is a personal matter and matter of sects which cannot be challenged please, whether religion allow to take beef or not but eternal knowledge of Vedas emanates direct from God strictly prohibited to take beef. I have written a book named- ‘Save the holy Cow- say Vedas’ and I would advise you to read the book wherein I have quoted several ved mantras which denies to take beef /non-vegetarian. The book is in English and its price is Rs.40/- only excluding postal charges. It will be also a pious job for you if you try to advertise and distribute the book to several hands to protect the cow. Vedas state “GAUHO VISHWASYA MATRAHA” i.e., cow is the mother of whole world. So we must protect the cow. If you can spread the knowledge of the said book then the price of the book may be more less please. Because money is not a matter but to protect the true religion is the main motto of life. You may send your postal address and the book will be sent to you immediately.

(B) The God loves all so naturally we all love the God. Love means we must please Him. It means we must obey His order given in Vedas. List of Vedic book is also printed in the above quoted book and if you are interested you may ask for, please.

Yes, we must always be God fearing. I may tell you that a lover does not has any fear to his lover. So the meaning of God fearing is that when we would be able to know the fundamental law of Almighty God from Vedas that He is omnipresent and he sees us every time, as mentioned in Yajurveda mantra 31/1- first.

Second law of Yajurveda mantra 7/48 that we all are free to do sins or pious acts but the result is awarded by Almighty God in the shape of happiness and sorrows respectively. God has therefore given several teachings in Vedas to make our future bright and to gain long life ourselves. So, when we will be able to know His above stated two laws amongst several laws, then automatically, we will be God fearing, keeping in mind the law that He is witness to all our actions and he would punish us if we would commit wrong. This will be a fear of God like we fear our parents who scold and even punish us sometimes for our bad deeds only to protect us from committing further wrongs. This fear can’t be taken in wrong sense.

(C) Aurangzeb forcefully converted Hindus into Muslim community. Those who did not yield to his force were slaughtered. In the beginning of the earth, there did not exist any community/religion, as said in Rigveda mandal 10. There were two words prevalent- Arya and Anarya.

Arya meant those who followed Vedic path, who did only pious deeds and discharged all moral duties faithfully.

Anarya meant who mostly committed sins including theft, murder, dacoity etc. So, originally human race was called Arya since about one Arab, ninety seven crores years ago uptil Mahabharat time. The sects have been originated by our religious leaders and not by Almighty God. Almighty God has given birth to humanity and human-beings only which can be maintained by following the Good teachings of any religion. But fundamentalism is harmful. I would also like to state that Vedas, the eternal knowledge which emanates direct from God, is universally applicable to all human-beings and is not a sect.

(D) Sorry, such details of Muslim community is not available with me, please.

(E) Yes, truth must prevail. The meaning of truth in Vedas and also in Bhagwad Geeta shloka 2/16 is that the matter which is eternal and thus is not made by anybody, is not made from any matter and from the said matter nothing can further be made; in such category are included Almighty God and souls (which are alive) and third the Prakriti (non-alive matter). The form of Prakriti in dormant/inactive stage is called truth but it is a fundamental law that when the power of God acts in Prakriti then from Prakriti universe is created and universe gets destroyed one day, God again then creates the universe, this process of creation being eternal.

In Vedas, it is called Traitwad i.e., three eternal matters. To know the said three matters including every matter made in the world by God from Prakriti, the eternal knowledge of Vedas is required. Then only truth will prevail. Because, eternal knowledge of Vedas is also considered true which is a truth. Why?

The reason is that in beginning of each creation, the knowledge of Vedas emanates direct from God. God is eternal, everlasting, immortal therefore Vedas which emanates from God (not written, not spoken, not made) are also true, which is also a truth.

Next definition of the truth is also that the matter which is not made and which remains present forever, being eternal, the matter was present in past, is present now and will ever remain present even after the final destruction of universe because in the beginning of next creation, naturally the knowledge of four Vedas shall again emanate from God and originate in the heart of four Rishis (Rigveda mantra 10/181/1,2 refers)

Hence, if we like to maintain the truth and truth should prevail then we would be the admirers of Vedic knowledge. We will have to listen Vedas, read Vedic culture, do daily hawan and practice Ashtang Yoga as mentioned in Vedas. The said knowledge must be obtained from learned acharya of Vedas as stated in all Vedas. The knowledge cannot be gained from so called gurus/saints who are professional and have not even fully studied Vedas.

Dr. Harish Arya: Should brahmcharis eat honey since its heat producing?
Swami Ram Swarup: Brahmachari must take the honey in the morning with or without milk. It is not harmful if he maintains the rules and regulations of Brahmacharya. His digestive system remains perfect in order and he gains capability to digest well. Honey, food matters are harmful to those who are lazy, do not wake up early in the morning, do not do daily exercises, do not follow Brahamcharya and act contrary to it. I have written a book on Brahamcharya which can be obtained from M/s. Vijay Kumar Hassanand, Nai Sadak, Delhi.

Anonymous: When will I get married?
Swami Ram Swarup: This is all in the hands of Almighty God. But you know, God helps those who help themselves. So, your parents must try their level best to seek a good match for you. You should also chant Gayatri mantra, daily both times and must do daily havan with Gayatri mantra, which is a worship of God which shall sure help you in the matter.

Hitesh Anumalla: Swamiji what is love? And saving ones life who is about to die is a good deed? And this can be against God’s decision and I want to know what happens to the soul when someone dies. What should one do when he is depressed? Is love of someone of opposite gender at in teenage true love?
Swami Ram Swarup: There are two types of love (i) Based on physical charms (ii) Based on heart to heart i.e., soul to soul.

When most of the people do not know about the soul then the love based on soul cannot be witnessed in the world. As it is a known fact that people are getting attracted towards worldly charms like assets, physical beauty, wealth etc. Such love can be sold and bought in the market. Love based on physical charms automatically declines with time as love based on soul is everlasting.

Yes, to save any human life is definitely, a pious deed. No, to save the life is not contrary to God’s decision because in Vedas also God states to love, serve and protect each other. Further, if there is a verdict of God that a man should meet with death then no power can save him. So, one should always make efforts to save other person’s life. As regards death my article is appended below:

The soul (SWDHAYAA GRIBHITAH) duly attached with its own power of taking birth according to pious deeds and sins, enters other bodies (AMARTAYAH) though the soul is away from death, being immortal but after death of bodies, takes new bodies. These ideas of Vedas has very well been mentioned in Bhagwad Geeta shlok 2/20 wherein Yogeshwar Shri Krishna says (AJO NITYAH SHASHWATOAYAM PURAANNO NA HANYTE HANYAMANNE SHARIRE ) i.e., the soul is (AJAH NITAYAH SHASHWATOH) never takes birth and is eternal (NAHANYATE HANAYMANNE SHARIRE) in fact after death of body too soul is never dead being immortal.

So these twelve days are completed, then after 13 days the soul takes another body.

Depression can be overcome be seeking immediate medical advices. In addition by discussing the matter with learned acharya who knows Vedas and Yoga Philosophy, the person gets relief.

This is a sin that at such an early age attraction arises towards opposite sex. At least 25 years of age must be devoted in maintaining hard Brahamcharya to gain education. So, one must stop thinking about the person of opposite gender immediately otherwise it is considered sin by God.

Devyani: I am not able to focus on anything spiritually. Please help.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you my daughter. The human life is meant to worship God. The earning is a means to continue the worship, so everyone must work hard to earn and then to worship God daily both times. Obstacles will come surely but a brave person never gets demoralized. He overcomes the obstacles then and there keeping in mind the motto of life.

Dr. Harish Arya: Drinking water during the eating meal is prohibited for brahamcharya? If yes then why?
Swami Ram Swarup: In fact water can be taken before and during the meals since it helps in digestion. However, water should not be taken immediately after the meals since it hampers digestive process but must be taken at least after one hour of intake of meals.

Dr. Harish Arya: My life is too busy to follow the dharam then what should i do about this is dharam saying something about this?
Swami Ram Swarup: Actually, human life is meant to remain busy in both fields- progress in science, worldly pious affairs etc., as well as progress in spiritualism. For one or the other reason, I mean to say, due to lack of contact with learned acharya, you have surrendered your life only for worldly affairs which God does not allow. It is only other living beings for whom spiritualism has no relevance. But we are human –beings and our main motto is to realise God while discharging all moral duties. So please try to understand the law of nature.

As stated in the Vedas, regular contact with learned acharya of Vedas only turns the life of a person towards right direction and then only he starts knowing the fact and spiritual significance of his life. In this connection my article on shubh karma is appended below.

Shubh Karma

Hard working, devotion, dedication, honesty, services to the parents and elders to follow eternal religion mentioned in Vedas, practice of Ashtang Yoga, discharging moral duties to get progress in education, science simultaneously with spiritualism like, daily havan, to be in contact with the learned Acharya, to get his advice, are some of the pious deeds which make the future bright and obliterate the sorrows, problems, diseases, etc.

One must wake up early in the morning for early morning walk and exercises, must sit on meditation and chant holy name of God, must be away from any addiction and non-veg. Such pious actions lead to long, happy life and bright future.

Anil Raghunath Sah: Sadar Pranam, My question is for which I have heard somebody telling that we as a human there are 5 souls, one is physical body, jeev atma …..and the last is the atma where atma is immortal and does not have any type of effect with anything . I could not really understand. I would be glad if you kindly elaborate this article for me to understand.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my dear. Sorry, no please. There are not five souls but human body is made of five matters i.e., Agni (fire),vayu (air) , jal (water) prithvi (earth), aakash (space).

Wherein alive immortal soul resides. Body gets destroyed one day but not soul, soul leaves the body and goes to the next womb to take next body based on his karmas (deeds) good or bad.

There are three eternal matters- Almighty God and souls who are alive. Third matter is Prakriti which is non-alive matter and the universe is created by God from Prakriti. God was one, is one and shall ever remain one. He is unchangeable, unchallengeable, immortal, omnipresent etc., whereas souls are several and souls are immortal as well.

The word “ Atma” is used sometimes for Almighty God and sometimes for soul, based on the qualities. One word Jeevatma is always used for soul.

I would now advise you to read my book (i) Vedas – A divine light (Part 1) worth Rs. 80 And (ii) Vedant-Eternal philosophy of Vedas – part 1 worth Rs. 20 excluding postal charges wherein you will get detailed information regarding this subject matter.

Chintan: Please give me information about universe, fraternity & dynamic spirituality.
Swami Ram Swarup: Universe is created by Almighty God from non-alive matter, Prakriti. In the universe, there are three main lokas –
(i) Dyulok which implies celestial bodies emitting light
(ii) Antarikshlok i.e., space
(iii) Prithivilok i.e., earth.
Now, the matter is vast and cannot be described here.

At the beginning of the universe, the knowledge of the four Vedas emanates direct from God in which three educations have been given:-
(i) Gyan Kand (including knowledge of science etc.)
(ii) Karma Kand (form of deeds etc.)
(iii) Upasana Kand (true worship of God etc.)

Everyone knows that God creates, nurses and destroys the universe. Since He nurses us that is why, God is called our father. Hence, Almighty God being father of human –beings has given a message in Vedas that all of us must live together like brother and sisters. We all must eat together, progress together and live together peacefully. This is a message-“live and let live “for entire humanity.

The said message is also contained in almost all spiritual books. I think due to lack of deep study of Vedas and other spiritual granths , most of the people have become selfish nowadays and are not afraid of God who punishes the defaulters and hence the ravages of hatred have paled over the fraternity i.e., religious brotherhood and dynamic spirituality.

Navin Chandra: Pranam Swamiji, In your previous answers, I have read that the Universe is created and destroyed from time to time and that God resides every where. But during the time of destruction when nothing exist, where does God and us (Jiv) reside.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. God is the lord of universe. God, souls and non-alive Prakriti are also immortal. So after final destruction, the said three matters remain- God, being the lord of souls and Prakriti as well, takes care of both and gives shelter within Him. God, being Almighty can live anywhere after destruction. I advise you to read my book Vedas – A Divine light Part –I worth Rs.80 excluding postal charges.

Hemant: Jai Ho! My question is , in these times of obvious kalyug that is staring at us, how does our Hindu scriptures suggest measures for us to tide over this difficult phase?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.
About Yugas
Manusmriti gives the proof in its chapter one that present time of the earth is 7th Manvantar. Uptil now 6 manvantar have passed. Those are Swayambhar, Swarochisch, Ottmi, Tamas, Ryivat and Chakshash, now its 7th manvantar. 71 chaturyugi = 1 manvantar.

There are four yug – Satyug, Treta, Dwapur and Kaliyug.
Satyug = 17 lakhs 28 thousands years
Treta = 12 lakhs 96 thousands years
Dwapur = 8 lakhs 64 thousands years
Kaliyug = 4 lakhs 32 thousands years

The total of four Yugas comes to be 43 lakhs and 20 thousands years which is equal to one Chaturyugi. 71 Chaturyugi i.e., 30 crore 67 lakhs and 20 thousands years equal to one Manvantar and 6 Manvantar have yet passed whose calculation comes to one Arab 84 crore 30 lakhs and 20 thousands years. This is 7th Manvantar and 28 Chaturyugi and the present Kaliyug has passed its time of 5002 years. So, uptil now the age of the earth and Vedas is one Arab 96 crore 8 lakhs 53 thousands and 2 years. Bhagwat Geeta shlok 8/17 also says about this fact.

14 Manvantar= 1 Kalp.

To maintain peace and to get long, happy life, one has to worship God, daily for which a person has to make regular contact with learned acharya of Vedas and Yoga Philosophy where he learns about the worship. In these hard days, one should always do daily hawan even with Gayatri Mantra, must do daily name jaap of Almighty God, daily practice of asan, prannayam, meditation etc., under the advise of learned acharya and then there will be no problem at all.

When we see the matter used for creation then we would find that the world has been created from Prakriti which has three gunnas (qualities) Raj, Tam and Satva. All three gunnas are meant to confuse the soul i.e., human beings. All matters made from said three gunnas are illusion. So, the person who gets indulged in these three gunnas will always remain confused. Our motto is to overcome the illusion for which guidance of a learned acharya of Vedas is required.

However, you are also advised to read my following books which will surely be beneficial for you:-

Arpita: Namaste Swamiji, Recently I am unable to do havan and concentrate in anything. I was quite positive a month back doing my yoga and pranayam and was quite positive I do not know what happened suddenly. Can you please help me?
Swami Ram Swarup: All times, the three gunnas of Prakriti i.e., Raj, Tam and Satva are surrounding us. The person who looses patience and indulges in the said gunnas i.e., illusion then the main motto of life i.e., worship is ignored. Naturally, the downfall begins. Please, be careful of illusion and continue your worship.

Haresh Mehta: Recently, I heard many things like we should collect money on Wednesday and give money on Friday. That is good and whatever dealing we do we get double benefit. Is it true? Or this is wrong belief?
Swami Ram Swarup: No, please. There is no fixed date mentioned in Vedas to collect the money. Money is pious wealth so, why can not it be taken daily or at any time? So, one should always beware of wrong beliefs.

Devesh Pandey: What’s the meaning of kedarkhand?
Swami Ram Swarup: Kedarnath is a world famous temple but I do not know about Kedarkhand, please.

Devesh Pandey: The greatest meaning of Om?
Swami Ram Swarup: Meaning of Om

OM has three Hindi words. Aa, Uu and Ma. Aa is meant for Aakaar from which three names of God are built, Viraat, Agni and Vishwadi. From Uu= uukaar from which Hirnyagarbh, Vaayu and Tejas names occurs and Ma = makaar from which Ishwar, Aditya and Praajyan aadi, holy names of God occurs. Rigveda mantra 1/164/46 says the God is one but His names are several but here only the said names are given.

Viraat means he who creates the universe. Therefore His name is Viraat. Agni means he who is knowledgeable, omniscient, to be known and adorable. Therefore His name is Agni. Vishw means in whom the space, fire etc., i.e., all bhoots are entering or he who is in all these bhootas and is omnipresent. So His name is ‘Vishw’. ‘Hirnyagarbh’ means in whom these sun, moon i.e., dyulok , reside and originate, that is why His name is Hirnyagarbh. Vaayu means by whom the universe is held, who gives lives and destroys and is the supreme power, that is why His name is Vaayu. Tej means who is a form of light Himself, i.e., God does not take light from anywhere. But gives light to sun, moon, stars etc. So the unbroken, unconstricted/unproduced and eternal form of light is Almighty God and not sun, moon, stars, candle or any lamp of the world or any light of the world because all these lights are broken or get exhausted one day, but not God. Ishwar means who and whose knowledge is always a never dying truth and who has unlimited pleasure or merriment in Him. Aditya means who cannot be broken into pieces and thus cannot be destroyed. So His name is Aditya. Praajyan means He who knows every manner and behaviour of whole of the universe without misunderstandings. So His name is Praajyan.

Ehsaas Malhotra: I belong to a Hindu family and have heard of all scriptures. What about 33 crore devis and devtas?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. There are only alive devtas- Mother, father, atithi, acharya and 5th is Almighty God Who are adorable. In Vedas, there is no scope of any worship other than that of one formless God who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. However there are 33 other non-alive, places which are called 33 devtas where soul resides. In this regard, I paste two of my articles.
Thirty-three devtas
As mentioned in Yajurveda mantra 40/8, there is only one formless, omnipresent, Almighty God who is only to be worshipped. Due to lack of knowledge of Vedas, for the last about five thousand years i.e., after Mahabharat war, the study of Vedas has been forgotten and therefore the man-made worships have taken place. In Vedas, there are only five alive devtas. i.e., mother (who gives birth), father (who nurses), Atithi (who has at least knowledge of one Veda), Acharya, i.e., spiritual Guru (who is learned of four Vedas and ashtang yoga philosophy) and fifth is the Supreme Almighty God. So we have to give regard to first four, as they give us birth, education and acharya even gives salvation and the fifth who is the Supreme God is only to be worshipped.
Besides the said five alive devtas, there are only thirty-three non-alive devtas like eight vasus, i.e., earth, sun, etc., eleven rudra i.e., ten prann and soul, twelve aditya i.e., 12 months, then Prajapati i.e., Yajyen and Indra i.e., the agni (electric discharge) which is seen in the sky. So no question of thirty-three crore devtas, as the same have not been mentioned in the Vedas, please.

God is formless

Being formless there is no need of statue or temple of God according to Vedas. As a matter of fact, you, I or every human being, lives in a body. Body is separate, we are called souls. Vedas say soul has no form even. Then also we know each other. For example even if you have not seen the photograph of King Akbar then, you can know Akbar by means of the study of his qualities. So is the case with the God. If an aspirant really goes to his Guru and listens Vedas like Shri Ram, and ancient kings and their public then he will be able to know hundred percent about formless God. Then comes realization for which Vedas (especially Samveda) says that he who performs Yajna, does jaap (according to Vedas) and practises Ashtang Yoga Philosophy while remaining in family like Shri Ram etc., he sure realizes ,being eternal law.

If we will meditate concentrating outside our body which is also against Vedas/Ashtang Yoga Philosophy, then our attention will always naturally remain outside i.e., attached with outer world i.e., decoration/music/dances etc. In that case subject matter of God will be over. It will be converted into spending fun, doing dances and singing attractive songs by ladies and gents, which is totally against Vedas. Thus the chapter of praising God, True Acharya, Rishi-Munis, performing Yajyen, practice of Ashtang Yoga, eternal knowledge of Vedas etc., will be over.

It is also baseless to say that study of Vedas and practice of yoga philosophy is difficult. It is self made story because Vedas are also called Shruti i.e., Vedas are to be listened first and not to be studied. So to listen to the Vedas, a learned Acharya is needed. The Acharya will explain the Ved mantras in the Yajna in your own language i.e., in English or Urdu etc., and for an aspirant to do asan, pranayaam, meditation etc., is also not difficult. It is all difficult for those human beings, including present false prophets, (who are against the Vedas), who are lazy, can’t awake early in the morning to listen Vedas and fail to do practice of yoga philosophy. Those people are always after money, materialistic articles and pomp and show, etc.

Vedas are not written or spoken by God. This knowledge is emanated from God and is originated in the heart of four Rishis as stated above. God is Almighty i.e., He has all powers. So He needs no assistance to do universal deeds. In human body alive soul resides and soul is dependent, soul requires mouth to speak, eye to see, hand to write etc., etc. but not God. From His power God originates the knowledge of Vedas in the rishis without writing, or speaking etc. Vedas’ knowledge is divine. The fundamental of the Vedas is this that it was not written or spoken. The knowledge by the power of God was originated about one Arab 96 crore, 8 lakh and 53 000 years ago. Then first time the four rishis of unsexual creation started pronunciation of the mantras by the power of God. God wanted them to know word meanings and senses of the mantras and therefore the rishis knew all. Then first time the four rishis started pronunciation of the mantras. They taught the
mantras to other ignorant people. Then another rishis were produced who knew the Vedas by heart by listening only. There was no paper, ink or pen there. The Vedas were being learnt by mouth to mouth and traditionally this process is yet in force. But mostly not by heart but taking help of the printed book. So printed books are not called Vedas but these are called samhita.

Samhita means the collection of Ved mantras. Therefore Present printed books cannot be considered as Vedas and will never be in future, but samhita. Kapil Muni throws light on this point in his Sankhya Shastra 5/48 that when a rishi does tapsya in the shape of Yajyen, study of Vedas, practice of Ashtang Yoga then the Ved mantras still (now also) originate in heart of the Rishi and the rishi pronounces the mantras. Those mantras are called Vedas, which emanate from God. So Vedas must first be listened (study) from alive Acharya (Guru who knows Vedas). Then only Samhita (books of Vedas) can help.

You may send your doubt if any, again and again please.

K Guruprasad: Aathmik pranams maharajji. Request you to clarify this doubt.
1. I listened to your pravachan in which while explaining one of the Ved Mantra which tells ladies (NARI) not to sleep in day, as well it is duty of the lady to advise others who are sleeping during the day not to sleep. My question is, Manisha, who is now 3.5 yrs old is sleeping daily after she comes from the school, i.e from around 2 PM to 4PM. Is it allowed for kids to sleep during the day time?
2. Also, are old people, around 60 yrs of age allowed to sleep during the day time?
3. Helping the needy people (Beggars), who does not have eyes, limbs, hands etc., to work and there by earn to eat (By giving food), is it OK? or paap?
4. Is it allowed to do meditation on open space, i.e in the terrace etc., during the night time?
5. Where does the smoke goes during havan, if the same is performed during the night time. Wont it be able to give its good effects along with the sun the next day morning?
With infinite pranams at your lotus feet.
Swami Ram Swarup: My heartiest blessings to you, my son. The sleeping rule is not applicable for the children, it is only applicable for the adults, either male or female because sleeping during daytime decreases the age and leads to advent of many diseases in body.

Actually, those who are patients are allowed to take sleep during day and the people above 60 years of age mostly do not desire to take sleep during the day and therefore must also avoid sleeping.

Yes, to help such people who are limbless, without eyes, absolutely starving to death is not a sin though they are facing the result of their previous lives’ bad deeds yet God has given us liberty to shower our mercy on them.

Yes, please. Meditation is allowed during the night in open place like terrace etc. Smoke of hawan is also called “Som” which goes directly to Indralok i.e., Sun and also spreads in the space and becomes beneficial to all living beings. If the hawan is performed in the night then smoke does not spread and does not give physical benefit.

Jeevan Singh: Sat Sri Akaal Swami ji. It’s not a question but a kind of idea. Why is it that we know that every moment of our life the only reason that we are alive is because of God. We know that my Naam Simran we find Him but still no time for Naam Simran? We have all religion that says God is within then why do we still search for Him outside? We also know that walking on God path we find happiness then why still we go against Him and when we feel the pain for what we have done why do we Blame God?Ii guess we human really are strange when we are happy we feel this happiness is because of us but when we are sad or in pain we blame God. Swamiji please do let all of us know the real fact of life. one day we are happy second day we are sad and again happy then sad.. Laugh and then cry. Can we human really have a better ways out from all this?
Swami Ram Swarup: Sat Sri Akaal. Yes, God has blessed us with this human body for a definite time based on our deeds. He is lord of universe and He is supreme judge and gives justice to all. Main motto of human life is to realize God for which education and then to feed the family, earning is necessary. Hence, earning is essential to maintain life so that soul can reside therein to do the worship of God daily so as to achieve main motto of the life, i.e., realization of God. So education and earning is necessary to continue worship but education and earning are not the main targets of human life. That is why, Vedas state that one should get progress in science, education and spiritualism simultaneously. One sided progress is always harmful for humanity and that is why science as a curse due to one-sided progress in worldly matters is being witnessed in present world.
Hence, to say this is itself a sin that in human life one has not got anytime for God. The realization of the God is always experienced within human body but as you know He is everywhere being omnipresent. Due to lack of eternal knowledge of Vedas and other spiritual true granths, if a person is indulged in illusion then sure he will be searching the God outside. We usually go against the true path of realizing God because our senses are indulged in illusion i.e., Kaam, krodh, mad, lobh, Ahankar from where soul starts getting materialistic false pleasure. A kind of illusion is also stated in Yog shastra sutra 2/5 that to accept the falsehood as if it is truth, to consider the unpious matters as pious, to observe sorrows as pleasure giving and to consider non-alive matters as alive.

Therefore, the person indulged in illusion remains satisfied to follow the false path observing the same as if it is true path and true pleasure and hence the problem arises.

Blaming god or accusing God has been a fashion nowadays. Reason behind is that we mostly worship the God whom we do not know that He is formless, omnipresent, omniscient, Almighty and punishes us for our sins.

Happiness is also the award of our previous lives’ deeds (pious) given by God because He is supreme judge. Otherwise, the result of one’s pious deeds could have been given to the sinner and vice-versa. Not only better way out but the best and last way out is first to know about the God i.e., His divine qualities and then his eternal real worship.

Juan: What does ashiva mean?
Swami Ram Swarup: Shiv means beneficial, pleasure giving. Ashiv is opposite to shiv which means that which is not beneficial or pleasure giving.

Anil Lohiya: Pujya Swamiji, Can we attain enlightenment through meditation and how? I am already meditating on Agya chakra, kindly guide me.
Swami Ram Swarup: The human life is meant for realization of God/salvation. But how? It is difficult to know the path by following which the salvation is attained. The creator of this universe is Almighty God. This fact is known by almost everyone but at the time of creation, He also gives the knowledge of four Vedas wherein His divine qualities and method to know Him have been explained. Vedas state that first of all one should go to a learned acharya of Vedas to know the formless, Almighty, omnipresent God. When the aspirant will be able to know the God by listening the preach of learned acharya then the aspirant must know about yajyen, name jaap of God and practice of Ashtang Yoga Philosophy by which path the five senses, five perceptions and mind of the aspirant is controlled and most important and real meditation gets started to realise God. Self-made worship can do nothing. Only God made worship is required. This task has now become difficult to follow.

Harshad: Namaskar Swamiji. I think and feel that I have found my soulmate and she also thinks and feels the same. Ours is love marriage, we both love each other. Unfortunately kundalis are not matching(10.5 + ek naadi dosha), everybody is threatning us with different different concepts and cruel things. Both of us are in such situation where because of our love we are even ready to sacrifice our budding association. I know sacrifice is the highest form of love but still I don’t know what to say, I mean we only have one life and not all of us fortunate enough to find their true soulmate on their own. I am lost, completely, please guide me.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. If your love is true i.e., love totally based on heart to heart- soul to soul and not mere physical charms then what will kundali do? Moreover, the present astrology, kundali, nadi dosh, kaal sarp yog matters etc., have not been mentioned in Vedas and thus the learned do not accept it. So, please go ahead happily.
