S: Pranam Swamiji, I got beaten from the first day I entered my husband house in roksadi (gauna), I got beaten for 30 years, now I I am afraid my daughter will have the same fate. How can I avoid this? Pranam Guruji
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. I am really sad to listen about your plight. If you try to register a complaint against your husband in the police station, I think police will surely do the needful. Secondly, you can also seek justice from NGO/women cell. I am astonished that you have been bearing the trouble for the last thirty years. Please try to seek justice from Police-station, NGO or court, as you deem fit. What about your parents. Whether they take care of you or not. Why don’t you tell all the situation to your parents. It is not good to bear the injustice at this stage when you have a daughter. You are right that your daughter has also been experiencing torture when she sees you being beaten up. My heartiest blessings to you and your loving daughter, my daughter.

Jai: Is this true “Devas are always looking to the supreme abode of Vishnu” (tad viṣṇoḥ paramaá¹ padaá¹ sadÄ paÅ›yanti sá¹»rayaḥ Rig Veda 1.22.20)?
Swami Ram Swarup: According to Vedas, Vishnu means Omnipresent God, Who is Formless.

Idea of Rigveda mantra 1/22/20 is as the living beings become able to see all the shapes of worldly matters with eyes in the presence of sunlight similarly, learned by attaining the Vedic knowledge and following it, become able to realize God and attain salvation. In the absence of realization of God and attaining salvation, nobody is able to get pleasure in life. Here the meaning of Vishnu is Omnipresent, Almighty, Formless God and not vishnu whose image is being worshipped.
