T: Respected Swamiji, Saadar Parnaam, my husband has betrayed me. For 5 years he had an affair with his classmate. I came to know about this few months back. Now she is married to another guy.

I have tried reconciling with him but I am unable to do so, What does Vedas preach us on this issue?
If either of the spouse betrays what does the other person needs to do? Should they forgive him or move away from each other. I have children from him.

Your kind response at the earliest would be highly appreciative and act as a guiding force to my next step.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter.

Actually, Vedas preach that in such cases, divorce is necessary but on the other hand it will so be beneficial for you that with the help of the elders of both families compromise is achieved. So, my dear daughter, I would advise you to try your level best for the compromise.

However, if your efforts fail then there is no other way except divorce, which is recommended by all Vedas, as in either side Vedas never tolerate/accept characterless.

Shikha: Kay mere diye gaye naam ke purush ke sath kya shadi taya ho sakti hai?
Swami Ram Swarup: Shadi ke liye parents kee manzoori avashya lein.
