Aman: Adarniya Guru ji Pranam, What is prakariti? As per science energy and matter are same. What information does Vedas give about prakrati and its nature. In which chapter and book I can get information about Prakrati? Astronomers says that there are trillions of stars and galaxies in the universe and still counting, does it means that the prakrati is infinite? What numbers does the Vedas give in this regard? Do you believe in big bang and about expanding universe? My last question is can you give the number of souls exist in this universe or are they also infinite?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. In short, Prakriti is a combination of three qualities – Raj, Tam and Satva. It is non-alive matter. Each matter of whole universe is made
of Prakriti. When the divine power of Almighty God acts in non-alive prakriti then creation starts. At a stipulated time, final destruction takes place and again whole universe turns into prakriti. Prakriti is invisible, non- alive matter. I would advise you to read my books Vedas- A Divine Light Part I and II (in English) and Patanjal Yog Darshan Part I and II (in Hindi) in which you will get immense knowledge of Prakriti. Prakriti is not infinite but is a combination of definite three qualities. It is a single matter comprising of three qualities as quoted above. It is eternal and immortal/everlasting. Big bang theory, being against eternal Vedic culture which emanates direct from God, is not accepted by learned of Vedas, Rishis, munis, Yogis. The number of souls is constant but counting is not possible, please. For example- the kind of ants, birds, elephants, mosquitoes, flies, bacteria which inhabit soil, air and water, kinds of animals and human-beings, all are souls, then who is able to count them. My blessings to you.

N: Dear Swamiji, Pranaam. I have a friend who is suffering from Japanese encephalitis and is very sick currently. The doctors are looking after her. However, could I please also request you to pray for her quick and proper recovery. Thank you.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. I pray to God for your friend to gain good health soon. You are also advised to do hawan both times even with Gayatri mantra and in the end of the hawan, you should also pray for your friend’s recovery. My blessings to you.

Indu: Respected Guruji Charan sparash. Since childhood we are reciting a shaloka but now we have seen people reciting the same shaloka with a different order of same words. Guruji which is correct? Please guide me with correct mantra.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Both are correct, please. Because in Sanskrit grammar, the reshuffling placement of words makes no difference.
