Harish: Please give English translation of Rigveda 8/33/17:
INDRASHCHIDDHA TADBRAVEETSTRIYA ASHASYAM MANAH, UTO AHA KRATU RAGHUM
Swami Ram Swarup: Rigved mantra 8/33/17:-

(Indraha Gha) most empowered husband (idam abraveet) should say this that (Istriyaha manaha) the views of the wife (Ashasyam) are difficult to control and if the husband (Uto aha) with determination also states that (Kratum raghum) power of intellect of wife is less then what is to be done. Answer of this question is given in next Rigved mantra 8/33/18.

—that to carry out the family life husband-wife owe equal responsibility but the husband being more powerful must discharge his duties more competently like a chariot wherein there are two horses but the horse which is more powerful bears more burden.

Anurag: Hi sir. I want to know about kleem mantra. I have a friend of mine we used to love each other but nowadays she is not talking to me I dont know why ….I asked lot of pandits and they told that some one has done some bad magic in her in order to separate her from you…
So I want to know whether “kleem” mantra will help me out in this case because I want to create true love in her heart like I have in my heart for her…Iive her truly and want to get married.
And please also mention that how to chant Kleem mantra and whether chanting is more effective or writing. And one thing I would like to know that I daily chant hanuman chalisa, durga chalisa and om namah shivay so is it fine to chant Kleem mantra also along with or not. Please help me Thanks.
Swami Ram Swarup: In this connection, no ved mantra exists only your good behavior, true love and dedication will do the needful. Everybody is free to worship according to his discretion.

Janeyu (the holy thread)

According to the true Vedic philosophy the custom to wear the Janeyu is eternal made by God. Janeyu has three threads which are indication of Raj, Tam and Satv gunas. There is a knot in the thread which indicates and reminds every time that we have taken oath to bind the said three gunas because the gunas have proud, anger, laziness, greed and various sins.

Further the said three threads also remind us to discharge duties towards Rishirin, Pitririn and Devrin. Rishirin means we have to serve the learned Rishis to obtain knowledge both worldly and spiritual. Pitririn means after completion of brahmacharya ashram our parents entered Grihasthashram (family life being married) and gave us birth. This tradition we have to follow and we have to serve the parents also. Devrin means after completion of grihasthashram we have to enter Vanprasth ashram to learn and donate the knowledge to the society. In a Sanskrit shlok it is mentioned that the Yajopavit gives us long happy life.

Charon vedon mein ved aur ashtang yog vidya ke gyata vidwan se deeksha lena anivarya kaha hai. Ved kehte hain ki deeksha lekar sadhak dwijanma kehlata hai arthat uska doosra janam ho jata hai. Pehla janam mat pita se aur doosra janam ved vidya se arthat acharya se deeksha lekar hota hai. Acharya adhyatmik pita aur vedvidya sadhak kee mata kehlati hai iske abhaav mein koi bhi karya shubh athwa shudh nahi maana jaata. Han! sewa ka nyuntam punya avashya milta hai.
