Anonymous: Prabhu ji apke charno m mera shat-shat pranam. By your grace & ashirvad I am able to clear my 2nd year mathematics exam & I have received my marksheet of 2nd year & now final year result is left. I also want to do job as I am not financially strong & filled the exam for post of clerical in bank. God please show me the path.

B B: Pranam, Guruji. Charan Sparsh. With your blessings we are fine. I am eagerly waiting for the day to reach at Ved Mandir. Guruji, hereby I would like to seek your guidance on one thing. I am in sort of confusion or say not clear in this matter. How Vedas knowledge shall be spread. As you said only Samadhi prapt/ashtangyogi is eligible to preach Vedas and spread its knowledge since he is mantra drasta. But how ordinary persons like us having limited knowledge or say basic knowledge of Vedas and still learning/gaining knowledge from you, can contribute in spreading knowledge of Vedas. Rather shall we concentrate on our worship only along with following Vedas path, try hard to control senses, daily improvisation of ourselves etc. If some aspirant has wish to contribute or to spare time for this then whether he is eligible. Please guide.I was impressed by Mr. Guruprsad’s mail on Ved Mandir web site wherein it was mentioned by him how effort was put by him and his wife for sell of your books on Vedas (I think place was Bangalore) and it was delightful that with your blessings it was huge success in terms of spreading knowledge of Vedas. Here in this case aspirant has contributed in spreading knowledge of Vedas through arrangement of sale of books along with giving basic knowledge of Vedas. This is really encouraging. So whether other aspirants if they wish can contribute in one of this way in order to help to spread knowledge of Vedas. Please guide.I had given few of your books Vedas- a divine light to five to six colleagues of my office. They include senior people also. Most of them are non-vegetarian and also take alcohol. They read books and returned to me. I had brief discussion with them about what they learned from it and they also came to know that to take non-veg and alcohol is a sin and is prohibited by GOD Himself and stated in Vedas. However, no one of them has given up non-veg and alcohol in spite of knowing and reading this. So it is sad that after knowing GOD’s instructions also people do not want to give it up and accumulate sin. So it seems that when efforts will be made to spread knowledge of Vedas then also perhaps it will take more time to bring change in society since people themselves are not ready to change. However, I think we should not get discourage and try hard to spread this and gradually there will be change.

However, besides this another good thing is that I had also given your books and briefed Vedas knowledge to my cousin (who came to Ved Mandir last time with me) and my mother in law. Both of them have taken it seriously and both are doing daily havan at present one time. I wish they shall continue the same. It gives pleasure on seeing someone following Vedas GOD’s path. So success ratio of person following Vedas may be less at present but definitely gradually it shall increase with your blessings and efforts put by you.

So I request to please guide whether one can help or should one help to spread knowledge of Vedas, if yeas then how/in which manner or rather as per Vedas one must do own worship only and after attaining smadhi only shall preach Vedas himself. Guruji, please guide this as per Vedas. With our regards to all at Ved Mandir. Pranam, Guruji. Charan Sparsh at your pious feet.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yes, my son I’m also waiting for your arrival. Vedas’ knowledge is being spread slowly and steadily by several organizations like Arya Samaj etc. I’m also trying my level best to spread it through books, Cds and pravachan. No doubt, the complete knowledge is attained by a Samadhi prapt Yogi/Rishi but in Vedas, it is also stated that those devotees who have listened to Vedas completely or partially, they are called ‘Updeshak’/Guru and they should give the knowledge of Shabda Brahma i.e., Vedas to the public. In this way, the public becomes learned of Vedas (Shabda Brahma) i.e., literal knowledge and further become capable of doing daily hawan, name jaap of God etc. then , by the grace of God, such devotees sure meet with a Samadhi prapt Yogi/Rishi-muni and get complete knowledge of secret of Vedas and Ashtang Yoga.

You see, the truth moves slowly whereas falsehood spreads rapidly. But, at the end, truth prevails. So, I’ve told several selected disciples to discuss and tell their Vedic views amongst public, whenever they get an opportunity. You and everyone must first concentrate on worship along with following Vedas path, try to control senses and daily improvise yourself. After sometime, you’ll also be able to get sufficient Vedic knowledge to discuss before the society. Yes, like the son GuruPrasad, several other disciples are spreading Vedic knowledge by taking part in book fairs and selling Vedic literature. They also mould the public by their Vedic preach. For example- In Indore, Aligarh, Tirpur, Chennai,Ranchi, Bhatinda, Gujarat, Lucknow, Mysore, Jammu and Kashmir and other cities.

I appreciate your pious deed to give books to your colleagues. People do not want to give up eating non-vegetarian or do not hesitate to tell lies or several kinds of sins because they read or listen about God but they actually do not know Who is God.

V B: Pujya Swamiji, Pranams. I am 50 years old. Somehow for the last five years I am haunted by a very grave fear to worship god and I am terribly afraid of visiting temples and religious swamijis and feel that God is very angry with me for the sins committed by me in previous births. Previously I was a very devoted and god worshiping person. Kindly bless me and show me a way to get out of this fear complex. I shall be eternally grateful to you.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter.

Such problem of not worshipping God arises when we do not know about the Almighty God Who is Formless, Omnipresent. He provides us with human body in the womb of mother and to nurse our body and enable us (souls) to worship God, to get long, ill-free, happy life and to attain salvation, He (God) creates all the needy matters in the shape of the universe. He creates and nurses us well. He sends the soul in human body to face the result of pious deeds and sins of our previous lives and whatever we’ll do in present life will have to be faced in next birth. So, he who worships God, he only becomes capable to destroy all the bad deeds of previous lives and to attain long, happy life while discharging all our duties. You see, it will be a case of suicide if we have fear to worship God Who is our father and protector.

Secondly, as I’ve told above also, most of the people, due to lack of eternal knowledge of Vedas, do not know the eternal definition of Almighty, Omnipresent, Omniscient, Formless God Who creates, nurses and destroys the universe. When a person starts self-made or man-made worship, the said worship sure creates problem. I would advise you to please read some of my Vedic books to know the Almighty God, Vedas and Rishi-munis. The books will also give you knowledge about the process of eternal worship of Formless, Omnipresent God. The said worship ends all the fears etc. In the meantime, you are advised to do the followings:-

Shubh Karma

Hard working, devotion, dedication, honesty, services to the parents and elders to follow eternal religion mentioned in Vedas, practice of Ashtang Yoga, discharging moral duties to get progress in education, science simultaneously with spiritualism like, daily havan, to be in contact with the learned Acharya, to get his advice, are some of the pious deeds which make the future bright and obliterate the sorrows, problems, diseases, etc.

One must wake up early in the morning for early morning walk and exercises, must sit on meditation and chant holy name of God, must be away from any addiction and non-vegetarian. Such pious actions lead to long, happy life and bright future.

GAYATRI MANTRA

Please, start the day by chanting Gayatri mantra in the early morning sitting on suitable asan like Sukhasan, Siddhasan or Padmasan etc. concentrate on the point between two eyebrows which is called “Agyachakra”. The Gayatri mantra should be chanted along with its meaning both times. Also, please try to perform daily hawan even with Gayatri mantra. Then try to study any of my books daily and put up question if any.

After 15 days chant the Gayatri mantra only thrice thereafter do the name jaap of Almighty God-“Om”. The jaap must be done daily by heart and not orally.

The Gayatri mantra is as follows —

OM BHURBHUVAHA SWAHA TATA SAVITUR VARENYAM BHARGODEVASYA

DHIMAHI DHIYO YO NAHA PRACHODYAT

Meaning of Gayatri mantra stating each word is as follows. Its meaning is based on Vedas and Sanskrit grammar. Grammatical hints are in short please.

Om has three Hindi words. Aa, Uu AND Ma. Aa is meant for Aakaar from which three names of God are built, Viraat, Agni, and Vishwadi. From Uu = uukar from which Hirannyagarbha, Vayu and Tejas names occur and Ma = makaar from which Ishwar, Aditya and Praajyan aadi, holy names of God occur. Rigveda mantra 1/164/46 says God is one but His names are several. But here OM the holy name of God is only being explained.

VIRAAT = Viraat word is made from dhatu ‘Rajrideeptau’ i.e., manifest. Therefore Viraat means He who manifests the universe. As God manifests the universe, thus Viraat is the name of God. Rigveda mandal 10, sukta 129 states that like potter makes pot from clay, similarly God creates universe from non-alive matter prakriti. Prakriti is unseen matter. From unseen matter, the whole universe is created in the visible form. Science also says that matter is never destroyed but changes its form. Suppose a paper is burnt, paper changes its form into ashes. Then ashes are crushed and thrown in air. At this moment, the paper changed into ashes becomes invisible but was never destroyed. Similarly the whole universe at the time of final destruction is turned into prakriti i.e., into unseen form.

AGNI = From dhatu, “ANCHU GATI POOJANAYOHO” the word “AGNI is made. Its meaning is: He who is a form of wisdom. “SARVAJAYEN” i.e., Omniscient. That is, knows each and every atom of universe and even beyond universe. He who is to be known, to be gained and is worshipful. So Agni is the name of God.

VISHWA = Vishwa word is made from dhatu, “VISHPRAVESHANE”. Its meaning is He in whom the universe is entering or He who is entering the universe. So being omnipresent, Vishwa is the name of God.

HIRANNYAGARBHA = i.e., ” JYOTIRVAYIHIRANYAM”. Its meaning is, who is the base of all sun, etc., luminous lokas or He who is the living place of all luminous lokas.

VAYU = from dhatu, “VA GATIGANDHANYOHO”, vayu word is made. Its meaning is He who holds, gives life and destroys and is the mightiest amongst all. So the name of God is Vayu.

TEJ = from dhatu, “TIJA NISHANE”, the word Tej is made meaning He who is self made and self-enlightened and gives light to sun, moon, stars etc. God does not take light from anywhere but gives light to sun, moon, stars, etc. so the unbroken, unobstructed/unproduced and eternal form of light is Almighty God and not sun, moon etc. So the name of God is Tej.

ISHWAR = from dhatu, “ISH ASHWERIYE”, the word Ishwar is made. Its meaning is whose knowledge is thoughtful and true and He who has unlimited wealth, fortune and glory etc. Therefore the name of God is Ishwar. Here it is not out of place to mention that soul (man/woman) has limited qualities and are dependent whereas God is independent and has unlimited qualities that is why He is God.

ADITYA = from dhatu, “DO AVAKHANDANE”, Aditya word is made. Its meaning is the one who cannot be broken into pieces and thus cannot be destroyed. So God’s name is Aditya.

PRAJAYEN (PRAGYA) = from dhatu, “JYEN AVABODHANE”, Prajayen word is made meaning whose wisdom is totally without any misunderstanding and thus he who knows every matter and behavior of whole universe without misunderstanding. So God’s name is Prajayen. So here also it is not out of place to mention that illusion can never attack on God and God is totally free from illusion.

BHUHU = “BHUHU ITI VAYEE PRANAHA” i.e., He who is the base of lives of universe, is most beloved, even more than Prann i.e., breath. So Bhuhu is the name of God.

BHUVAHA= “BHUVAHA ITI APANAHA” i.e., He who is totally free from any sorrow, and the soul removes his own all sorrows after coming in contact with Him. So the name of God is Bhuvaha.

SWAHA = i.e., “SWAHA ITI VYANAHE” who is omnipresent in the universe and is holding the same. So the name of God is Swaha.

SAVITUHU = He who creates the universe. So the name of God is Savituhu.

DEVSYA= who gives all pleasure/merriment, so the name of God is Dev.

VARENNYAM = He who is the most supreme and acceptable. God is most supreme and acceptable for worship.

BHARGAHA = the purest entity (though God is formless, but finding no suitable English word of Sanskrit word, “SHUDH SWARUPAM” the word entity has been used.)

TAT = i.e., the God i.e., of the purest entity.

DHIMAHI = i.e., we must hold (sort of meditation) because

YAHA = the God

NAHA = our,

DHIYAHA = mind(i.e., in our minds)

PRACHODYAT = by inspiration (fulfil the mind with wisdom)

MEANING
“We meditate the God who is the base of lives’ of universe, totally free from any sorrow, omnipresent, creates the universe, gives all pleasure/merriment, most supreme and acceptable, purest entity; May the God enlighten our minds with wisdom by His inspiration”.

Here it is not out of place to mention that idea of a (one) Ved mantra is based on ideas of several Ved mantras. So in the above Gayatri mantra, there are three things —-
Bhuhu, Bhuvaha, Swaha, Savituhu, Bhargaha, Devsya are some qualities amongst unlimited qualities of God. These are called Stuti i.e., to say about God with His real qualities and not self made etc.

Secondly Dhimahi means meditation i.e., one should always sit in meditation and do hard and pious deeds for which he will have to study Vedas in full, while discharging moral duties towards family and nation.

Third and last is DHIYO YO NAHA PRACHODYAT. It is a prayer to God explanation of which is cited above.

How to do havan

Please sit in the morning to perform havan. Havan must be in sunlight then it is more beneficial. Then half a bowl of fresh water with a tablespoon must be with you with small twigs especially of mango tree if possible, havan samagri, ghee, camphor and match box must be there with you. Please sit on sukh asan on four times folded blanket and blanket must be on mat.

Sukh asan i.e., sit on duly folded feet in comfortable position. Then first close your eyes and concentrate between two eyebrows and chant Gayatri mantra three times within heart and not by mouth. Then open your eyes.

Take one spoon of water in right palm. Chant this mantra, OM AMRITO UPASTRANMASI SWAHA and drink the water which you have put in your palm. Then again take the spoon of water in right palm then chant the next mantra, OM AMRITA APIDHANMASI SWAHA, and drink the water. Then again take the water in right palm and chant the mantra, OM SATYAM YASHAH SHRI MAYI SHRI SHRAYTAAM SWAHA, and drink the water. Then wash the right palm while sitting, with the same water kept in bowl.

Then put the twigs into havan kund with one piece of camphor and burn it. During this process chant the Gayatri mantra again and again till such time the fire is lighted sufficiently. Then chant the Gayatri mantra and at the last add the word Swaha and offer ghee with tablespoon, quantity equivalent to 4 to 5 drops. And if you are alone then also offer in fire pinch of havan samagri from your right hand’s finger and thumb avoiding forefinger. So this offering may be of 11 times, 21 times or 51 times as the time suits. It is the simplest way and I have not quoted the complete method of Yajyen. The havan with Ved mantras are always offered as the best worship of God only please. Do havan daily and both times

N: Pranaam guruji. Is it necessary to maintaining bhramcharya before joining gym
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you. Yes, please. Vedas state that in all cases, including Gym, the person should strictly maintain brahamcharya. In this connection, I would advise you to read my book “ Brahamcharya- Dukh Nivarak Divya Manni” (in Hindi) worth Rs.100/- excluding postal charges. It may be sent to you on receipt of your postal address, if you desire.

R N: Swami jee, Sadar Pranam, I have sent a small bhet of Rs 2100/- through courier to you. Kindly accept the same.
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. I thank you on receiving your cheque worth Rs. 2,100 full of love and affection towards Almighty God, Vedas and myself. I again send my heartiest blessings for your long, happy life. I’m sending my latest book Vedas- A Divine Light Part V along with two spiritual Cds released shortly as my presentation to you, my daughter.

Nilu: Is there any thing written in Vedas about back biting?
Swami Ram Swarup: Yes, please. False statements, back biting, hurling abuse have been clarified in Atharvaveda with the knowledge that said matters revert back to the abuser himself. He has to face the consequences. But the person to whom the said matter is being delivered, he will have to listen peacefully without any counter action. Actually, Vedas are full of knowledge regarding each matter of universe, either science, deeds (responsibilities), worship etc.

Anonymous: Adarniya Gruji, Dandovat Venda, I studied about gambling in you book Vedas-A Divine Light part V and my question is investing/earning profit from stock market is also gambling?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you.

A person invests the money to purchase the share. The money is further invested in several types of business and the profit is given to the share holder. So, it cannot be said to be gambling. Shareholder has also to bear the profit and loss.

Himanshu: Why there are a lot of contradictory statement between the views of sages/saints? All the saints and sages are messenger of God then either we are having problem in understanding them or interpretating them in wrong manner. I think discussions are good but it might result into arguments. I want to clarify it with an examples.

Vedant is divided into 3 parts advait(non dualistic), dvait (dualistic) and vishitdvait( qualified non dualistic). All are having same views in slightly different manner. Motto is same then why this much contradiction in statements? Please enlighten query this with your views.
Swami Ram Swarup: Because of the several sects, saints of different ideologies and worship of several devi-devtas, there are contradictions between the views of sages/saints. However, in the beginning of the earth when the said path did not exist, the knowledge of four Vedas emanates direct from God, to be followed by human-beings. Uptil Mahabhart war, i.e., before five thousand three hundred years only one Vedic path was in vogue. And as Tulsidas also stated in his chowpayee –

SHRUTI SAMMAT HARI BHAKTI PATH
SANJUT BIRTI BIBEK,
TEHIN NA CHALHIN NAR MOH BAS
KALPAHIN PANTH ANEK.

Man made different paths, leaving aside Vedic knowledge. The translation of chowpayee is as under-

Meaning:- Due to attachment and illusion, people do not follow the eternal path of Vedas, which leads to acquisition of ascetism and true knowledge. On the contrary, people have made their own parts as per their suitability and interest. The suitability and interest is actually called “Attachment”.

Advaitwad states that there is only God and no existence of soul and prakriti. Dvaitwad states about existence of soul and God but not prakriti. Vashisht Advaitwad states that soul and world, both are the subtle body of God etc. But, the eternal and everlasting knowledge of four Vedas, which emanates direct from God, tells about Traitwad i.e., existence of God, souls and prakriti. When we learn Vedas then we do not have any other way except to accept the eternal philosophy of Vedas, made by God whereas, above quoted philosophies have been made by human-beings.

I would advice you to read my book- Vedanta and eternal Vedas’ philosophy Part I and II (in English) worth Rs. 31/- and Rs. 20/-, excluding postal charges. It can be sent on receipt of your postal address, if you desire.

In these books, the matter of present Vedanta has been mentioned in detail.
