Akansha: What is meaning of “ekam braham diti naaste”?

Swami Ram Swarup: Several persons explain its meaning that there is only one God and nothing else i.e., except God there is nothing. They tell that there is neither prakriti nor soul and not even the creation which is being seen. Learned of Vedas do not accept it because eternal knowledge of Vedas which emanate directly from God tell us that there are three eternal, everlasting and immortal matters-

1.) God 2.) Souls- both are alive matters 3.) Third is Prakriti which is non-alive matter. So, the meaning of Eko Brahma Dweetya Na Asti will be, there is only one God equivalent to whom no other God exists.

Besides this, Yajurveda mantra 27/36 states-‘Na Jataha Na Janishyate’ i.e., there is only one Formless, Almighty, immortal God and equivalent to this, neither any other God was born, nor shall be born.

I also suggest you to read my books- Vedanta and eternal Vedas’ philosophy Part I and II (in English) worth Rs. 31/-, Rs. 20/-, excluding postal charges, which explicitly describe about Eko Brahma Dweetya Na Asti. It can be sent on receipt of your postal address, if you desire.

Jay: Is Reiki Healing therapy is authentic?

Swami Ram Swarup: In this connection, I can only tell that to establish the truth, the matter should be tallied with Vedas i.e., the views or the matter should have been mentioned in Vedas. If it is not mentioned then it is unauthentic. Reiki healing therapy is not mentioned in Vedas.

Simran: Are astrological calculations vedic?
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. To know the veracity of any
matter it is always tallied with Vedas. If it is mentioned or is according to Vedas then definitely it is authentic and true otherwise false/unauthentic. However, present astrological calculations are not
mentioned in Vedas.
