Reeta: Pranam Guruji. I have a query that how to chant gayatri mantra by pranayam? and what is the procedure to do daily hawan/yajyen with the gayatri mantra
Swami Ram Swarup: My blessings to you, my daughter. I paste my articles in this regard:-

It is said in Shastras about Gayatri mantra- “Gayatri Gayatehe Stuti Karmannaha” i.e., Gayatri mantra is sung to praise God. That is why, its name is Gayatri. It is a chchand. Chchand is sung. Secondly, Gaya means “Prann”. Jaap of Gayatri mantra is also done through Prannayam. The aspirant should sit on a suitable asan like Sukhasan, Siddhasan, Padmasan etc.

Thus, apart from being the best way to recite the Gayatri Mantra, chanting the Gayatri Mantra by way of Pranayam also helps one to achieve salvation. We should sit on a comfortable asan like Sukhasan, Siddhasan, Padmasan etc., and breathe in through our nostrils, fill our stomach with air and hold our breath till we can comfortably do so. Simultaneously, we must recite the Gayatri Mantra within our mind bearing its meaning. Once we can no longer hold our breath, we must slowly exhale completely through our nostrils and stop our breath outside, while repeating the Gayatri mantra along with its meaning within heart. The breath should be stopped comfortably. When the breath can no longer be withheld from inhaling, then again inhale it and repeat the process of chanting Gayatri mantra as told above. It is said that Gaya means ‘breath’ and ‘Tri’ means to “cross over” i.e., to attain salvation, i.e., to attain salvation by doing jaap of Gayatri mantra, through the said process of prannayam. That is why, our ancestral Rishi-Munis have praised the said process of doing jaap of Gayatri mantra through prannayam as the best.

How to do havan

Please sit in the morning to perform havan. Havan must be in sunlight then it is more beneficial. Then half a bowl of fresh water with a tablespoon must be with you with small twigs especially of mango tree if possible, havan samagri, ghee, camphor and match box must be there with you. Please sit on sukh asan on four times folded blanket and blanket must be on mat.

Sukh asan i.e., sit on duly folded feet in comfortable position. Then first close your eyes and concentrate between two eyebrows and chant Gayatri mantra three times within heart and not by mouth. Then open your eyes.

Take one spoon of water in right palm. Chant this mantra, OM AMRITO UPASTRANMASI SWAHA and drink the water which you have put in your palm. Then again take the spoon of water in right palm then chant the next mantra, OM AMRITA APIDHANMASI SWAHA, and drink the water. Then again take the water in right palm and chant the mantra, OM SATYAM YASHAH SHRI MAYI SHRI SHRAYTAAM SWAHA, and drink the water. Then wash the right palm while sitting, with the same water kept in bowl.

Then put the twigs into havan kund with one piece of camphor and burn it. During this process chant the Gayatri mantra again and again till such time the fire is lighted sufficiently. Then chant the Gayatri mantra and at the last add the word Swaha and offer ghee with tablespoon, quantity equivalent to 4 to 5 drops. And if you are alone then also offer in fire pinch of havan samagri from your right hand’s finger and thumb avoiding forefinger. So this offering may be of 11 times, 21 times or 51 times as the time suits. It is the simplest way and I have not quoted the complete method of Yajna. The havan with Ved mantras are always offered as the best worship of God only please. Do havan daily and both times.

C K Vatsa: Swamiji Namaste. Recetly I have read that RADHA WAS Krishanji’s MOSSI.
Is it true ? Chittaranjan
Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji. I paste my article in this regard.
Radha actually was Sri Krishna Maharaji’s cousin of far relation. So, how could marriage take place. Yogeshwar Sri Krishna Maharaj had great respect for Radha.

Vishal: Namaste Guruji, I have query that few day before you have mention in your replies that no man can live more than 400 hundred years according to yajurved Mantra 3/62. Can you send me detailed explanation of said shaloka. And pelease suggest me book in Hindi where I can find word by word explanation in detailed of this Shloka. I will be very grateful to you.
Swami Ram Swarup: Namasteji.

Yes, according to Yajurveda mantra 3/62, no one can live upto more than 400 years. The mantra is

“Trayusham Jamadagnehe kashyapasya Trayusham,

Yaddeveshu Trayusham Tannoastu Trayusham.”

(Yajurveda mantra 3/62)

Oh! God,(Yat) whatever (Deveshu) in the learned of Vedas (Trayusham) three i.e., three stages of body- childhood, youth and old age and (Jamadagney) knower of universe (Trayusham) three i.e., three ages of Brahamcharya (celibacy) married life and vanprasth (proceeding towards jungle, leaving behind family life) (Kashyapasya) under the administration of Almighty God.

(Trayusham) three i.e., knowledge, education and benevolence the said three ages (tat) those as are (Trayusham) three i.e., the said three ages of 300 years of good qualities and 100 years i.e., 400 years of age (Nah) may we get.

As stated in Yajurveda mantra, mostly we pray to God to bless us with at least 100 years of normal age.

So, one Trayusham means 100 years of age. Mention of one time word “Trayusham” means 100 years of age. The said “Trayusham” has been used in this mantra four times. It means Oh! God, may we get 400 years of age with the pious qualities mentioned in the mantra.

My blessings to you.

Vinay Arya: Namaste Guruji I have seen on some website that Atharvaveda says that those who speaks ill of Vedas must be killed by you. The website says that this meaning is in Bhasyas written by Arya Samajis. Is it true?
Swami ramswarup: Namasteji.

In all Vedas especially in Atharvaveda mantras, it has been stated that those who go against the Vedas (Ved mantras) are destroyed and are indulged in sorrows to bear. Those People also get early death. In this connection, Atharvaveda kand 12 refers.

Sumit: Please pet kam karne ka process batayen.
Swami Ram Swarup: Pait kum karne ke liye, daily 4-5 km walk is necessary. I paste my article as under:-
